Tos don't need this

I hope this message reaches to someone important.

Simple words:
Remove any cash “status item” for the store and of the game.

keep and make new skins , only this to profit invest in a clean game. fair ways to make money.
extremely different from the current games on the market.

Many new players look for this and they don’t find it in any MMO RPG.

Use this post a re: Build.

We need a new game for these new times. and TOS can be this game. Please put your attentions on this.

it’s so easy to spew things when you got no idea how things works in the inside.

geez i wonder why ! :tired:

elaborate?

/ew20chars

do you honestly think the dev don’t know whats best for the game or not want the game to be exactly like the community wanted?

they know, and they want it to be like that too.
they just can’t, yet.

neither do IMC

i see re build, i see my friends leave, even those loyal whales, i see 12% playerbase decrease. is this for the best?
the extreme change is sucks.

and check out their decisions on stuffs like the previous hack. wow. their decision maker is at whole new level.

so you might ask why im here?
i wasted tp points months ago and maybe i can make some cash out of it to waste it in a better game
turn out the game so dead so i check the forum.

This kind of stuff is stuff that users buys every month, you can’t mantain just making skins.

At least the token doesn’t give you unfair bonus for non token users.

TOS is already different from current games on the market
for all the wrong reasons.

you can, PoE can maintain just selling skins.

That’s not the same thing and that business model is not always profitable.

League of legends did it, and they succeed.
that’s a ridiculous argument, every business model could either succeed or fail. are you saying ToS current business model is ALWAYS profitable? give me a break.

you get my point, i was just shooting down your bad argument that they “can’t” maintain from just making skins.

many games survived, and they are free too, remember this game isn’t always free 2 play.

just because this is what they chose to do, does not mean this is the only choice they can make that would make them profitable. don’t pigeon hole yourself just because you don’t want to think of another way.

League of Legends isn’t a MMORPG. MOBA games are a different market.
You need to focus on others MMORPG like Ragnarok Online, or Eden Eternal.

Right, There are games that can do that, there are even games that can keep a subscription model such as Final Fantasy, but they are specific cases. At least they are not selling high end equipment via cash or blocking a part of the game under a paywall.

the argument is just so stupid man.

some of the other MOBA uses pay to win purchases and they don’t succeed
League of legends uses a skin only system and they succeed.

PoE is just one of the non p2w MMOARPG (it’s basically an RPG, the Action part only tries to explain the gameplay type but PoE falls into the same category as ToS)
they succeed.

a lot of First Person Shooters are p2w, but Fortnite is not and it succeed.

as i said, you are pigeon holed.
you are unable to think of anything outside of what we have right now and you want to defend ToS so much that you can’t see the flaw.

every. business. model. can. either. succeed. or. fail.
it depends on the implementation, get that across.

coincidentally many of the most successful games are the skins only free 2 play game.
People buy skins, that’s just how it is. people want to stand out.

I notice you quite aggressive, I have not insulted you at any time. I honestly didn’t feel like writing an answer after that, but I will write this and leave the thread.

I’m not defending ToS, I’m just saying that compared to many other MMORPGs that I’ve played, ToS’s model, out of horrible things like character slots (i hate this), seems fair to me and you can play without investing a single cent (Even you can be a token user without investing a single cent while the VIP mode in other games are Cash only and gives unfair things like 20% extra HP). A game can’t be sustained just by good intentions and I said there are exceptions, just like PoE.

The business model may work, but it is very idealistic to think that people will come to play and and keeping the game just buying skins.

Warcraft and Final Fantasy are the most sucessful MMORPG and are suscription only, also you need to pay for the expansion packs and the skins. The main reason is because they are popular enough to do that.

kinda dont want to get in this topic but w/e

MOBA usually sells champions/heroes AND skins… The initial bulk of the “paywall” is the heroe, then the skins, with a new player perspective… So something similar to this in tos would be buying the rights to access a class, then the sub classes, OR spend an insane amount of time trying to unlock it for free… Regarding the skins tos is somehow similar…

PoE… If you really think its F2P with no type of paywall you clearly arent well informed… PoE NEEDS stashes, and the more you play, the more you need, also, theres special stashes that allow you to even further optimize your time in the game… So sure, if you can actually manage the pletora of things PoE have to offer with 5 meager stashes, well, suit yourself, but the average PoE player cant, making it a paywall to actually advance further in the game… Regarding the skins in PoE, they are expensive as hell, like comparing them with tos you would pay 10 or 20 times a costume in tos for a “set skin” in PoE…

The business model regarding monetization in tos isnt failing, whats failing is the “freshness” of the game reagrding the mechanics and lack of relevant content… RE could save it, but imho its a little to late to see a huge growth as in the beginnings of tos… maybe we can go back to 3-4k itos, but i doubt it, i think we will peak at 2k… If you compare the business model of tos to other similar games, you will not find that many key differences…

Finally, regarding fortnite, its a fad game with mostly kids and teens playing it…

i am done with this talk, i don’t understand how people defended this but i don’t care anymore.

of course the very very few people that remains when the game is breathing its last breath is the people that would justify anything the game throw to the player base, the people that felt like this is wrong and not working isn’t here anymore, people that would agree with me isn’t here anymore.
i’m done with the conversation.

Clearly you also have a problem with reading…

Am in your side, just for different reasons… You are saying its a monetization problem, and i dont believe it is, i believe its a content problem exposing why i believe other examples that you show wouldnt work in tos, saying that your particular examples would make it even worse in tos… Same conclusion tho just different paths for reaching it…

Clearly the game is “dead” by some metrics since more than a few months, current player base isnt something to be shock, just check the steamcharts… Now, how they can bring more stable population??, i doubt it could be done by changing the monetization system…

Sadly, i think that´s the main issue with tos. When a game is fun, balance, p2wness and other stuffs are relegated to a second plane. I mean, of course they’re important, but fun is just the core of every game.

Right now tos is just a bunch of daily/weekly activities that can’t seduce new players. Me, and probably many of us, find myself bored while playing. Every day is salus>cm>raid>maybe dungeons and maybe velco. EVERY F DAY is the same in tos and you HAVE TO run the dailies or you get behind and get even worst when you realize you HAVE TO make an army of alts because you can’t even run the instances with the same character. None can resist that man.

yep stopped playing until re build to check it out.

finally fought my demon that forced me to do dailies everyday, i don’t want to be a slave to a game, i want to play it for fun because i want to.
not because i “need” to.
