Unfortunately it’s not simple, items like Diamond Anvils and Sled already exist, players have already made insane weapons and used their Sled boxes.
If IMC were to remove these items from the game, then it doesn’t prevent those who already have +21+ items from using them against those who can no longer get such weapons. Not having them is worse than having them even as a P2W only option.
It gets even worse with an item like the Sled mount, being seasonal it’s limited to once a year and being a Goddess Blessed Cube of the highest rarity it’s something many players have paid multiple hundreds of dollars for. Paying a months rent for some is cheaper than buying a Sled. Yet due to it’s unique ability to be mounted easily, having no hp bar, on top of it’s insane movement speed boost, a smart player can use it as a 0 CD MS boost of at least 8 that is disabled by getting hit. That’s an absolutely massive buff in PvP.
Now IMC could just not bring Sled back, but if they do that, all those who have it, have an eternal and massive PvP advantage over those who do not, even among mounted classes, having the Sled allows you access to stuff like Corsairs flag, which for other mounts would basically be disabled. It also makes you relatively unaffected by Unhorsing.
However at the same time, IMC cannot just remove them from the players that purchased them, that’s something they spent insane amounts of money on (or in the case of some asshats, 40 mill from a friend who is quitting) If they remove it they have to deal with the backlash. Which should be significant.
I’m not sure if either of these 2 things are what you’re referring to, but they are the biggest issues within the game, granting massive stat boosts to P2W players, and in both cases the item that caused the problem is the solution. To make up for the massive weapon discrepancy we need more Diamond Anvils, and to make up for the large amount of Sled abusers in PvP, we need more access to this mount.
