This is actually what I thought of if they were to make a magic based Swordsman/physical based Wizard.
Can’t throw a whole stat build out of the window for a single class.
It would also give a little more freedom for Cleric builds in general but I think they first need to turn down some of these values on Cleric classes (Healing Facter i.e.)
That would make cleric incredibly OP as well.
Not really. All weapons that can be used by Cleric are way weaker than the two handed weaponry of Swordsmen, Archers and Wizards and has less gemslots (just hinting at pistols having 2-3 slots in contrast to daggers, or those cannon subweaponry e.g.).
Then there’s the issue that Archers and Swordsmen have potentially way higher damage output options because of so many different attack skills offered by the Classes,
while Cleric is basically always cornered by the split-up between physical and magical skills, and many buff/debuff skills that decrease the possible damage values but increasing the survivability of the Classes.
In the current gameplay, it’s rather Swordsmen and Archers becoming extremely OP because they can reach high def and mdef values to negate damage, have block&dodge options as well as access to more damage, cc and utility due to their base Class abilities to kite monsters (Swordsmen can dash while Archers can attack while moving).
On the contrary, what profit is Heal for 200k HP if I only get hit for 1s?
The skill scales with matk and INT, so if I invest in DEX/STR as a Paladin, Monk or Inquisitor I get nothing out of it, not even decent damage;
The same with the weaponry: transcending a weapon will not increase the damage of all my skills. How can this be? Swordsmen, Wizards and Archers don’t have that problem, as all their skills scale with only one stat, while Cleric scales with two stats(patk or matk)…
If at all, Clerics are currently dead last because Class options are limited/forced onto the statbuild you chose, and spreading statpoints is heavily punished in this game, remember?
Swordsmen,Archers and Wizards are OP, Clerics in no way…
Seems like you have no idea about the power of Inquisitor.
I would like to know how the new Golden Bell Shield in ktos works. If it brings the same protection Ausrine does or even better Monk 3 would also be really good in ET.
i do hope golden bell get super good, right now it so bad
Could you tell me what Golden Bell protects from right now?
All kinds of dmg? Does it protect from Knockback?
Golden Bell shield is still bad at KTOS, even after the balance. It’s basically 9-10 secs CD time with 2 seconds invulnerability (which is basically 1/5 of the time); can be tweaked with Laima to 1/4 of the time, however, considering that you have to invest 5 skillpoints I still believe it’s not so good unless you can properly time the use.
There’s also the issue that it’s still a channeling skill, which disables you as long as you cast the skill, in contrast to the monsters who cast the same skill instantly and get a protective aura while being able to move & attack…
Afaik, Golden Bell Shield blocks damage and knockdown/knockback, it’s kinda a little Ausrine for yourself (and possibly party members as the safety zone attribute only adds +1 sec CD time which can be compensated with the skills monster gem e.g.).
Well, at least you can evade some nasty attacks now on Monk, and Dievdirbys might become more viable in combination with Monk.
Seeing C2>P1>Diev1>Monk3>Inqui already coming to be a thing for new builds xD
they really need to up some dmg for monk… like more scaling and base dmg so they can compete with others T-T cos there’s no good upgrade for monk at all … inquisitor is just there becos it’s the only physical rank after monk . but i feel the playstyle and thematic totally does not fit monk D:
MFW when someone says cleric is dead last in damage and not OP…
I didn’t say that Cleric was dead last in damage but dead last in row to be OP because the mechanics changed so much in favor of Classes that don’t need buffs/debuffs to deal damage, especially Archers and Swordsmen, as you can kite/Pain Barrier 24/7 to DPS with 2-3k pdef&mdef and just throw in a potion every now and then.
Meanwhile, in the Cleric tree only Inquisitor, Krivis-Taoist and Plague Doctor C2 can deal real damage, while the other classes are basically just buffing/debuffing/damage mitigation/healing/status recovery with weak skills that just kill a few small fries unless you go full transcendence for the specific atk-category featured by the skill…
Being a healer and buffer became more of a leg-dragger than being something essential/good in the game.
Exactly, and thats the reason I got fed up with my pala-monk-inquisitor. Yes I heard all about the power of inquisitor but sorry inquisitor just doesn’t fit the monk theme all swordsman classes use melee weaponry, all archers use some sort of ranged weapons, all wizard uses staffs… Clerics? A 1h mace with split damage between patk and matk, hell, the verseriantis-whatever mace give you like 100int, as a dex based physical pala-monk-inquisitor , I don’t need INT… Look at regard horn pike 2h spear, that thing give you sweet jesus insane amount of CRITICAL ATTACK… I feel that the devs will never give cleric a true DPS weapon like this… Afterall, a cleric’s roots will always be support. One should always keep in mind that when playing a cleric. I hate it when I see clerics who doesn’t heal party and only use the heal tiles for themselves when they are low hp… Ffs bro go play dps… Then again sometimes i see dps classes who are too cheap to even use hp and sp pots… There are players who seriously sit and recover hp and sp after a few mobs… These players should play cleric-kabba…
Now as a pala-monk-inquisitor, in order to do maximum DPS, you need to set up a kill zone and proper rotation even when just dealing with mobs… Lure mobs, set up safetyzone and barrier, buff divine might, monstrance and whatever other buffs u might have, put wheel down, conviction, smashx3, smitex2… All that preparation, just to deal with MOBS… Oh and god smash is 30s cd while wheel is 50s cd and requires you have breaking wheel to cast… (I hate skills that require items to cast) and did I mention if you get knockedback/out of your killzone, you need to run back to your damn killzone with your ridiculously slow walking speed?
On my SW3-Goon2 now… (almost 3), I feel much more freedom in my approach and rotation. (yes I know later if I go goon2 it will be serpertine-deathrone. But dethrone is just 16secs cd…
Im not dissing clerics, their heal tiles is definitely useful, getting into a dungeon without a cleric2 really eats up your hp pots unless your party have good cc.
i agree on that, most swordman weapon and archer weapon are really strong compare to Mace.
we cant be #1 dps if other player got thier oranage weapon too
