I waited too long to come back. …Nevermind.
we need a new reset event or voucher … my main is stuck with a terrible build
Edit: cant play with this build … i do no damage ( i mean reeaalllyy low )
That sucks. Bye. Sorry they can’t keep an already really long event going permanently just for you.
I know, right? Although to be honest it wasn’t that long. “Really long” in my book is more than a month lol.
Sorry you missed it :c hopefully they do another when some more big class changes come in the future (like the promised pvp re-balance patch).
It’s a valid complaint. That could be simply addressed by providing a free rank reset to accounts that are inactive for a set amount of time(ballparking 3 months) for each charachter.
This would incentivize players to return instead of forcing them to have to potentially reroll characters and lose any investments.
This is especially true for the major revamps this game has recieved and returning players would either wait til another event or just say duck it.
How would you feel if you were forced to not play due to any reason and when you came back you found the class you invested 100’s of hours in was now useless or no longer fun to play due to a patch?
No its not.
A company giving out free ■■■■ for 2 weeks and you choosing not to take part then expecting them to give you special treatment is in no way a valid complaint. Its absurd at best.
Awww and you were aware too.
He had enough time browse the forums and post, but I guess he couldn’t log on for 5 minutes to reset. Not to mention you could reset and keep the rank cards for a later date!
OP just wanted some attention so he made this thread.
So here’s a little attention.
i was thinking about coming back, but when i checked the reset voucher last time, it had a time limit and you need to use it within x days once you receive it
so i was like: nvm…
im just floating around forum to check updates and not coming back
did this on a couple characters.
Yes it is. ToS is already acknowledging that their revamp necessitates the ability to reset characters in order to accommodate the changes. This should not have a time-limit. I think @Aegrus 's point about providing any inactive accounts with a free reset is perfectly reasonable to allow anyone who didn’t/wasn’t able to play during the brief 2-week span an opportunity to not be totally screwed by the massive changes.
They provided a large window for anyone who wanted resets if people chose not to make use of it, that is there fault they were given they option. Just because they decided not to does not mean they deserve special treatment to accommodate them.
All i can say about this forum these days is, that entitlement.
I took advantage of this event. However, let’s say it happend when I went out of town for work, or when I take my son to his grandparents 2.5k miles away. So you think I would continue playing? Or would I quit out of frustration?
Do you think that’s “fair”?
Personally, it doesn’t bother me a whole lot, but I just decided on what class I wanted to play and just now have heavily started investing in attributes and selling off gear I acquired. If this happened after I made that decision and I liquidated assets and invested 100+ mil in attributes just to find that they became useless I wouldn’t only quit, I would actively disuade others from playing.
This is what people do in fact. If friends quit a game, the people that are left behind may be more inclined to move elsewhere as well, especially if they feel the game itself slighted them.
I do know people who quit, and since I couldn’t get in contact until the past few days I wouldn’t ask them to return since they would just be frustrated that they would not only have to start over, but they couldn’t even take advantage of new player leveling events if they wanted to retain some of their progress in gear(which a lot is big bewrky as good as it was due to changes.)
This is exactly my point.
@thebloodyaugust is too wrapped up in the idea that someone else’s benefit directly hurts him to realize that without people returning he will, yet again, be playing by himself.
This game has poor retention, that’s pretty obvious. We don’t need to punish people for choosing to return.
I didn’t want attention. I just wanted to simply state that I was late to the party where others could relate to. But thanks for the attention anyway lol.
Next reset event I’ll probably join back in if I have the time to plan out new builds and see what is popular. XD
It is more on opportunities. In any event, people gain and lose opportunities. The lost opportunity for not being in the game event has yield more in other areas, such as more time gained to pursue real life endeavors like career, relationship, or progress in other games.
We don’t go to a department store and demand sale vouchers cause we missed out on the day of sales right? At most we just have to wait for the next one to happen since we missed out on the previous sales opportunity.
I couldn’t find better words. Thanks for that.
This time, I think it’s just all up to the person itself.
- If he is the true casual person and not playing game too much, they just will move on
- If he was overseas but loves this game to extent semi hardcore, then yeah of course they will sad for missing this opportunity
- If he has time to play but missed it, then it’s their own fault.
In the end, can’t blame IMC this time
Wow. I know people have changed but I didn’t expect this coming from you though. Kakaka
This is a game. Also, it is not some zero-sum environment where if a player decided to return to the game and had a chance to fix their characters to be viable again that you would be losing out. After all, IMC changed the rules of the game, all a reset would allow is for the characters they invested in to remain playable.
If anything, we all gain from this. More players means the game can continue to run, it gives more leverage to enact changes and improvements since(more people= more money= devs pay more attention), bigger community means easier time finding groups, etc…
No one loses by encouraging people to come back. These changes fundamentally changed a number of classes and the synergy of their class ranks.
It is a game, and punishing people for treating it as such is how you lose players.
While I agree that if someone has quit for months and randomly come back at another date, with all the big changes that happened, having a free reset sitting in their mail would be nice. It costs IMC nothing, it’s a nice gesture, and it’ll make the player want to play again.
But on this specific case I don’t agree. This dude clearly knew about the event but decided not to take part in it for X reason. It’s 100% their fault.
If we listen to some players, IMC should have kept this event going on for months so they could be satisfied… and even then, honestly, seeing how people change their mind so often (everyday they have a new favourite class, and even after trying them all they’re still not satisfied) I doubt we’d even reach a point where everybody is pleased.
