Time to go back and try that reset event... Oh wait

They should add all the reset items to the cash shop. No need to screw certain players over in the long term when you can instead make cash off of them.

Oh, I am in no way defending OP. I don’t believe the reset should be expanded or anything like that. I just was pointing out that the idea of returning players getting a shot to rank reset should be on the table.

Well, it’s not a problem anyway, because when Rank 9 comes to our shore, many builds will become less viable then others again. People will start and ask for resets again.
It’s the same old thing starting all over (Rank 7->Rank 8 advancement e.g.).

Maybe you’re lucky and there will be a reset when Rank 9 hits us end of this year.
But honestly, there isn’t much to do anyway, aside from cube-rerolling and shard /silver farming.

Yes i do think thats fair.

If your out of town for a week and miss a 50% off sale at a super market do you think they give a ■■■■ that you didn’t take advantage? No. Do you think they are going to give you the sale price a week later? No. Sounds like a stupid request dose it not? This is basically what your asking.

This is a poor comparison: there isn’t even an equivalent way of explaining the difference between buying food at a super market to consume once, and playing a video game with a character that is fundamentally changed by sweeping adjustments to stats, equipment, skills modifiers, etc.

Your example would be more appropriate if the OP was saying “I missed a TP sale and I want the sale price for a consumable item in the TP store.” If that was the case, I would agree your comparison is appropriately comparable.

However, we’re not talking about a sale on a consumable item, we’re talking about immense changes to the basic functionality of a character. That’s not just a matter of novelty, it’s literally the core of the game.

As @Hilsun said it’s a bad analogy.

This isn’t a limited good, it is specifically a tool that allowed for players to retain character investment instead of forcing them to start over.

The whole premise of OldSchool RPGs and even most modern ones is that you invest in a charachter to make him your own. This investment in ToS is in rank choice, skill builds attributes, and binding gear specifically to that charachter that you cannot undo. There is a difference between a player choosing, and later regretting a choice and the game changing its rules. The former is a player choice, the later is outside of their control.

What you are essentially arguing is that IMC should not do any rank reset, since it’s the players fault for not anticipating their actions by altering their class.

For example, flat damage from skills caused low rank skills to be mostly useless outside of utility provided, such as double slash for swordsman, while higher ranks had more flat damage or even additional scaling. Naturally you built differently before and after the patch with few exceptions.

A prime example is the stat change. Accuracy is now based of strength instead of dex, on top of the stats themselves not scaling further from higher ranks. Scaling up dex for archers further limiting the need for crit and accuracy. Your builds would take into account class buffs and skills from lower ranks to buff damage and output of higher ones. Now those low rank damage skills have had massive changes. Such as carter stroke no longer doubling damage on knocked down targets, the reduced charging time of that skill, or the reduced effectiveness of Seism. As you can see, some of these this allowed for highlander to be more viable and barbarian less so.

This would be like making a charachter for dungeons and dragons campaign and then mid game completely changing what your skills did, with only the option of starting over or playing with a potentially broken charachter.

This is figuratively the same as demanding for damages caused to your car when someone rear-ends you.

Edit for clarity:

This is figuratively the same as demanding compensation for damages caused to your car, after being rear-ended in an accident.

This is a good point when it’s about sales, not really in this case, only half a point.

Demanding for damages caused to a car you left abandoned somewhere?
Not to mention, the several fortune tellers saying on TV that a car was going to crash your own but were ignored?

God, I’m bad at analogies.

not to mention they announced the event 1-2 weeks in advance. so yeah.

Attempted to clarify my original analogy. I didn’t proofread it properly.

My brain filled in some gaps that were probably important.

All I really was trying to impress was that that asking for a rank reset for returning players is not similar to missing a sale.

We want people to return to the game and be able to enjoy it, not delete obsolete character builds because the rules changed. This combined with returning player events would make it seem like IMC is punishing you for leaving the game or not playing continuously.

my friend just comeback from a long weekend

i’m playing alone again wtf

this thread for ■■■■■■■ dumb ppl who quited then returned seriously they announced the event 1-2 weeks in advanced then you gonna cry cuz you dont gained reset items ? HAHA ■■■■■■■ IDIOT WHY NOT QUIT ALREADY

Dear IMC, lots of people want a class reset. Clearly there’s a market for it. I suggest adding it to the cash shop so you can make money and so those who can pay for a reset will be happy if they buy it.

Of course, those that don’t/won’t pay for a reset won’t be happy as will some that do pay but wish they didn’t have to but eh.

I suggest you actually read the comments first. Though, I think your aversion to reading is evident from your statement. The game probably would be better off without your hateful statements.

The whole point is to encourage people to return, in spite of people like Tsuriki. The game should be welcoming and fun, the rest is up to the player-base.

Should of just sent a reset per character on the last day.

At least that way it would catch those who didn’t come back during that period.

It’s like people think players who left the game are always on the ToS website checking if there are news. In which world are they living lol ?

That’s it.
