Saving cards isnt needed with xp pentalty change. You dont need to do any quests other than main quest til main chamber. Im talking pre 200. AFTER that its the same. I do agree we need more to do, but its not the same exact path unless you make it that way.
Itâs a grind game because people like you are sitting on ass instead of bringing this to their attention. If it was fun grind itâd be fine. But itâs repetitive dumb grind weâre talking about.
They didnât even put effort into making decent dungeons and they limit them like they are awesome. Nope. Crappy design choices and people think this is a grind game because itâs ROâs successor. Welp ToS would be very successful if it was released â â â â â â â 14 years ago buddy. We donât need boring ass lazy grinding game designs anymore. Other games have shown how awesome your leveling experience can be.
Forgot to mention that their dungeon design is so â â â â â â â bad that they even added a Clear Voucher item so that people can skip them without losing the exp/loot.
Bring what to their attention? other ways to lvl? i just suggested adding a bunch of dungeons with different themes that you can level at. Different classes would be better at different ones. You may not enjoy grinding, so make your own suggestions. Maybe they could add quests to the dungeons so its more than grind. dont like quests either? like i said make your own suggestion. i made mine.

Remember, we have different dungeons and people keep doing the same ones because there arenât enough people to run them.
Also people wonât waste their limited daily runs on random â â â â . Itâd be just like the defense thing at 120. No one does it cause it gives no exp and it even has itâs own limit. lol
I already suggested various ways to improve the leveling experience but they all start with removing the dumb dungeon limit so that people can choose to level through dungeons or doing quests/grinding.
Also instead of having a bunch of recycled map dungeons, making them with mechanics and puzzles and with decent rewards for the time youâve spent inside the instance. So that people wonât be able to rush dungeons because they are horrible.

I guess i should have been more clear. Im not talking about the instanced dungeons. Im talking about one like tenet chapel or mausoleum constructor chapel, but with more floors and cover more lvls.
Did you ever got to RO in it first ever kr live server? It crashed and burned hard in itâs first year, ToS is indeed following it footsteps.
I think the problem is exacerbated by DG and cultural differences.

iToS has less DG entries but we werenât given a higher silver rate to make up for it. We should honestly probably have 1.2x silver since we only have 3 of the 5 DG runs kToS players have.

I think there is also a cultural or time investment difference between iToS and kToS players in general. I think that could be verified by metrics.

The flat defense system doesnât support players that donât make the time investment cut getting through basic content. The suggestion of half way gear from the OP solves that.
I would support a line of gear that canât be blessed for half way gear. But have higher base stats.
difficulty does tend to scale intensely - which makes you feel more you made a mistake in your build when you encounter this. as a (majority of the time since i lag hard on parties) solo player, this is very noticable for me.
the gameâs designers might be attempting to balance the monsters considering optimal parties. this is what playtesting is for most of the time - breaking the game. i do get that most of us donât have the best builds/parties - but if you encounter a game thatâs too easy, the interest curve will face a quick drop.
design of the game really degrades the higher level your maps get. you face repetition of quest objectives and graphic assets. this makes the progression sluggish and grindy.
overall, nothing new for me - the VGA crashes are a new annoyance though. 
Good read but it doesnât cover a lot of the aspects. Not saying I donât agree but just to point out some stuff.
- Skill effects (cc, buffs, debuffs, etc), mobility (have to stand still, cast and run, etc), range, size, CD, longevity, etc all have an effect on the balance.
- Like others pointed out, difficulty is not just about how long it takes to kill a mob. Itâs also a risk-reward balance. (like how easy for the mob to kill the player)
- Imo, the blue 220 weapons they added are the common fill-in-the-gap gears.
- I believe if a wizard invest enough INT in the build, he/she should still do useful damage in r8 content? I do agree they should increase the mdef on mobs gradually but this at least makes it so mages canât just go all tanky and expect to still kill everything swiftly.
- Wow is the typical example of power creeping to make the game last longer. Itâs also the reason I quitted. I appreciate games with gears with unique attributes that promotes customization instead of just a pure superior version of the previous. Tos at least gives some of that.
With more r8 content still coming, I think weâll see more gap closer stuff hopefully.
My biggest issue with r8 content is that they made questing too much party oriented. But I can also see the pros there I guess Iâll just have to find people to do those.
Itâs funny that you decided to list quests 3 times for each of those games main/side/daily but lumped them all into one category when listing ToS bullets.
And Iâm not even defending ToS here, I agree itâs a slog. But the fact that you have to resort to spin when comparing other games to something as broken as ToS just emphasizes how theyâre equally as trash 
Good luck finding a party if you dont have a meta build. Forcing people to party for simple questing is a design flaw that will prove fatal on the long run. What will happen later? People are done with the content and you just wont find someone to do these quests with. Knowing IMC, they will maybe make content of a later rank magic relevant but that will not help wizards one bit. They are useless at R8, so who wants to quest with someone who only does 1 dmg?
Some sort of party quest is ok, but forcing the whole content to be done by a party is bad. Apart from what I already posted above, just one term: Tree of Primetime.
I understand where your coming from but you canât really compare commute between games to jusity the combat difficulty. Combat just isnât combat being able to use butterfly wings because itâs too hard and you might die.

ROâs flywings and butterflywings were something that made the game unique. Preventing escape from combat until either side is wiped huh? Dont really know which MMO started this, but with any sort of death penalites, it is a bad thing. Another frustrating nuisance. Some games even took that â â â â so far that the boss room closes off once someone enters, often producing deaths solely cause someone got shut out.
If you want combat being combat, then ask for SAO mode, in which you permanently die.

R7 swordsman damage is on par with archer or mage counterparts. Thats why you see dopple in WB or ET being used as damager. Wizard have elem3, Swordsman have Dopple. Just because Elem3 are more commonly used doesnt mean Swordsman are failing when it comes to damage. Why is Elem3 more popular even though Dopple is capable of dishing outmore damage? Because Elem3 is noob friendly and Dopple is not? And people are copy paste monkeys and want the easiest way around?
False again. Elem3 Warlock2 is still the most sought out AOE for questing or Grinding in R8 areas. If the damage really falls off that hard explain why people still want Elememe on their parties? Why would you hire a class that âdoesnt deal much damageâ to your grinding party?
What happening now is similar to what you experienced the 1st time you step out in lvl 200 maps. Under geared, underleveled. Transcendence, card system and new weapons (290 dg weapons dont be choosy) are available for you to utilize.

I dunno bout the server youâre in but, any Linker2+build are more preferred in Varena in general, if a party wants to manage mobbing with burst skills like dethrone, balestra or snipe.
The issue Wizes face(absurd monster mdef) is brought by IMC as some shitty roadblock to slow down meta players from rushing game content imo.
Im in telsiai, if youre doubting that Elememe is still being sought out in parties i will give screenshot after i got home from work. Left and right theyre still being hired as main damager.
You rarely see âLF dragoon2 or Dopple3 for DPS in grinding or questingâ.
Swordsman is still being included as bonus EXP or for tanking purposes. Elememe is still the main DPS or Archers.
I agree on the thought that Swordsman tree have more DPS oriented classes than before. With the rise of Fencers and Dragoon for DPS front.
New content, new items or new equips are required to clear them or faceroll them but the end scenario will be the same. On later months players will have easier time clearing them out, similar to what happened pre-lvl200 maps where blue spion archers represent the wall.

The main reason IMO is because itâs too noob friendly to play an elememe since everything is cast and run. Really low risk involved.
On the other hand when youâre getting a swordsman, thereâs still a high chance that the player skill is lacking and thus underperforms miserably. Hope this will change soon.
I hate STR build because it doesnt scale well, but Akisera of Varena pretty much using his Dopple at full potential. You can see him topping the WB or ET. Basically when team work is required swordsman tree can rival Elem3 or Archers on damage department.
