Tree of Savior Forum

This gaming community vs. others

First topic post here guys. I was just wondering what you guys think about the ToS community as compared to other gaming communities you’ve encountered. Personally, I have a good feeling that the ToS community will be one of the best gaming communities ever. Most of the topics I’ve read on the Steam forums and now on the ToS forums are really “likable”. You guys seem well mannered, caring, and helpful to one another.

Thoughts?

I can definitely agree with that, and I hope it continues to stay this way up till release, and even further past release. Lots of cool people are flocking to this game haha.

Well I will say I’ve definitely seen a lot of optimistic people around, you included! I worry some may be too optimistic though, there’s no escaping negativity or “toxicity” – especially when it comes to online interaction. I’ll definitely be doing my best not to add to it though. (Just don’t set the community too high on a pedestal, lest you be disappointed if it falls.)

Well for me, I see two halves. One half is what the OP mentioned…well-mannered and caring. The other half are just blindly loyal RO fans who want this game to be a RO clone. That half is what I’m going to stay far, far away from.

I definitely agree with your opinion on the other half.

Besides the annoying RO clone fans, it’s aight so far. It’s pretty typical atm. Then again I can’t say for certain because the game isn’t playable yet. I hope it’s better than the Onigiri community…

the level of stereotyping in this post cringes me alot. Dont simply lump all RO players into one you mentioned. Every MMO has 2 sides of community on them anyway. Yes, we wish this was the spiritual successor of RO1 after the RO2 BS. Yes, we were hyped to relate to RO1 since hear Hakkyu’s the one leading the project. but that doesnt mean there’s nothing bad or toxic about it. Call yourself well-mannered but you’ve already stereotyping groups of people.

SMH

I apologize if I come off as “ill-mannered” which was not really my intention, but I’m definitely not lumping all RO players into one category. If I was, I’d probably say something like “Then you have all these RO players coming in, hoping that this game will be a RO clone.” Keyword is in bold.

Maybe that is the case, but for me, it has gotten to a level where it’s starting to get a bit obnoxious.

I’d like to see how this forum will turn out. So far I think everything is just fine and cozy. I personally wouldn’t like to see toxic players here.

I don’t think there will be toxic players, not lots of mmos have toxic and when they do, they aren’t like league toxic players so i’m happy with that. But we just have to wat to see how it will turn

By far I have the same view with posters above, people are very friendly and have the same hype/expectations regarding the game.

Still, like it or not, there will be a point where there are, as we call it, toxic or annoying ones in the game (hopefully not in this community) let’s hope the best for us here and there will be few /minimal annoying ones

Mainly when a forum is made but the game isn’t playable the community is nice to each other. Then as soon as it is, we begin the development and research of the games. PvP Tiers/PvE Tiers. Opening/Weakness/Strong Points, and etc, eventually games will become a place where opinions and fact will clash and then the arguments begins and it ends as a wasteland. I just hope it doesn’t end up like Elsword’s community or League of Legends. I pray we all stay optimistic, and stay well mattered about our flaws and when we obtain our personal classes, we don’t start flaming our mains for balancing cause a lot of games we always tend to argue over because of the competitiveness that gets to our head.

Probably going to end up like the LoL community.

I agree. The game hasn’t been released yet. We’re all boarding a train that’s soon ready to depart on an adventure. It’s not always happy happy when you’re on an adventure.

That’s pretty the inevitable part of most forums throughout the online/mmo history as the game progresses. Especially for hyped ones. Let’s hope and do our best to maintain a healthy community here.

Edit : tweaked some words bcs i have potato internet

So far the communities great.

I understand that people are a little unhappy with the mentioning of RO and comparisons. But please understand that it’s inevitable, as this is a fan claimed spiritual successor. I don’t agree with comparing, and find ToS to be very different and a game of it’s own.

But until release, it’s not strange or bad to see comparisons, since we’re still speculating quite a lot.

Aside from that, the community is not toxic so far, there are quite a few helpful individuals and fan communities and very understanding foreign communities as well.

There will be always bad people in every games. Trust me.
But I’m sure that most of the people here have nice personalities.

Apparently ToS have a great community, but I prefer waiting the game’s release to see if it will remain the same. XD

:gift_heart:

Most people here played RO so the community will consist of older and relaxed people. Once the game is out for a few months I’m sure there will be an influx of less than pleasant people. Depending on how competitive the PvP is, it will determine how bad the toxicity will be.
