This Games Damage Bias Is Ridiculous

I am told that for blue stats, like Medium Offsetting, that they cap at 50%. Yet any Jewelry set except for the tank set will give you about 8k in Medium Attack. That’s about a 50% damage boost that is applied to every person who is not trying to survive. So naturally they all kill each other super easy, removing any sense of individual skill from PvP and making winning basically a right.

I used to talk a lot about the “Right to Win” plaguing MMOs, which is basically when the game is set up so that someone always wins, it’s not “If you’re good, you’ll win” it’s “If you do better than the opponent you win” Or sometimes (not in this case) it’s just a classes right to win. We had that with Linkers in Gem Feud, and also Retiarius’s back then too.

Right now the system is set up so that someone always wins, easily. It’s less “Are you good enough to kill them” and more “Are you able to not die to them in the short time it takes your high damage to kill them” thus lowering the skill floor to an absurd level. Just let yourself sink into the depths of the ocean and you will reach the skill floor.

Anyways why is this necessary? Why does IMC deem the Tree of Savior player base to be so hopelessly pathetic that they need to rig the system this hard against tanks? Are the best players really that bad that it justifies it? I don’t need a basketball hoop to be put right in front of me, and lowered to beneath my boobs in order to get the ball in a decent amount of times, and frankly I’d feel quite insulted if the people who made the rules of basketball felt that they needed to change the rules to be that just to accommodate me. Why is it different in Tree of Savior for this community? Why do you accept the system being this rigged in the favor of DPS players?

Typically I would quit a game this bad about catering to casual players (so would most other PvPers, as even the big names you likely used to know, obviously no longer play.) However I’m back less so because PvP is acceptable and more just because I want to play an MMO with someone specific. Still Every decent PvPer is going to quit a game this rigged against tanks, whether they can identify the reason or not. IMC really screwed themselves over when they EQed Gem Feud, but it seems they only got worse since. So like, what was going on in that time that made them feel it necessary to be this brutally harsh against PvP?

Even in the event that 100% Medium Offset would make you invulnerable and Medium Attack wouldn’t effect it, it doesn’t make it less bad that there is so much Medium Attack given for free because the developers want to make it easy for you, they don’t have confidence in your ability to properly play the game, and think “Pathetic losers like you need this advantage to get stuff done.”

But of course, real PvPers, tank players, they don’t get the Medium Attack, not offensively or defensively. This change is very much about closing the skill gap and people smart enough to bulk up a bit in PvP, are just too good against people who don’t think when they face each other in PvP.
