This game is Sexist

I think what is more sexist is that there are no options for long hair as a male. Guys can have cool long hair styles too, people!

There is a long hairstyle in premium, I am rockin it now.

Why not just allow females to be able to use male hair and vice versa? Also, blueblue please stop being sexist in the future. Male players play female characters all the time and vice versa. Your sexist attitude is not appreciated in our gender fluid MMOs.

on a similar note, how come it’s decided that more “inspiration” should cost 59TP more? why not 100TP? or 1000TP as earlier suggested? why stop there?

Implying “metrosexual losers” will probably not play ToS is one of the weirdest things I’ve heard for a game where the guys look extremely feminine. And besides, having a fashion sense isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Trust me, I’ve participated in contest designs for mmos and such before. Girls are so, so much easier to design for since there’s much more variety, including hairstyles. There’s a hundred different cuts for dresses like there’s a hundred different ways you can tie up and cut long hair, especially fantasy hair. It’s the dudes who are difficult to design for because stuff is so limited. And from my experience, men can be major fashion hoarders alongside the girls. Brushing aside good looks for guys for the sake of insecure people who can’t bear to look stylish in case it damages their manliness or w/e is pretty out there.

ofc, I could be just speaking from my own pov, but just take a look at maggi’s twitter. She draws a ton more girls than guys, because guess what is easier and more fun for her detail-oriented style.

facepalm does it really matter… play the game stop complaining about stuff that does not even matter this is not tumblr if you want to talk about that sort of thing go to tumblr.

If your wondering about the cost well what two hairstyles are you comparing with because depending on how they are designed can vary the cost.

what did tumblr did to you? :open_mouth:
please explain how the cost varies because it’s baffling, almost illuminati-conspired imo :nerd:

how many other MMORPGs ask for different prices based on a character’s sex for a gorram hairstyle anyway? in recent memory, I only get to pay the barber/beautician for the service, and with default currency, too!

what is this gender concept you speak of last I recall under those pixel clothing is dolls that lack reproductive function’s so by that there is no male or females as such.

Lets put it this way remove all the feature that define us as male or female what do you have left just dolls with legs arms head body they should change gender to what would you like your body type to look like two lumps or flat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also ever been to tumblr you speak one little thing that is not about gender or something like that and I can guarantee you someone will find it sexist.

also swordsMAN on a female!!! #TRIGGERED

ok are we trying to be deep here? because I don’t mind a longer discussion on gender.

but for simplicity’s sake: sex=/=gender
male or female is how the game itself identifies each of the two options per class available to the players. if you want to refer to them as gender, fine. but if you must know modern definitions of gender is more than just man and woman. you can google everything to expand your understanding.

what I’m asking you is how should the cost (of the premium hairstyles) vary based on sex i.e. male or female? is it the amount of pixels? which MMORPG follows the same mechanic?
and I am joking (obv) about the illuminati conspiracy, because

I agree. that’s why we arm ourselves with knowledge to fight all the BS, don’t you think?

In Mabinogi all costumes/wigs and stuff cost the same in cash shop as I remember. But players in-game sold female stuff to other players for like 2-3 times as much as male ones or for even more…

Are they sexist? I don’t think so… They are clever… it’s hard as hell to sell male stuff there while they can sell those female things to other ppl even if they are expensive.

It is more like business not sexism…
Also imc could just decide to raise the price of the male hairs instead of lowering the female ones… would that be better?
I wouldn’t necessary mind that either… but I still think of it as it is rather nice from them that they want to make the male ones a bit more appealing…

They want that money cash flow, more people play female chars probably. Doesn’t mean it’s fair to have a higher price for the female hairstyles, but that’s my best bet. Would be going a bit far calling the game sexist though, they are trying to exploit a market. But like i said doesn’t mean it should be like that.

ooh…curious…but as you mentioned, it wasn’t the publisher/game company/developer(?) who set the increased price of the female items in the market, it was the players themselves, and that’s just free economy

not like ToS huh?
regardless if the issue indeed is sexism or just “business”, don’t you think it’s logical if the prices are just the same across the board? if the female items instead are cheaper, it’s the same difference, doesn’t make it “better”

and if indeed IMC just want to take advantage of the market because female sprites get personalized more, that’s just plain greedy

  • looks at the dream hairstyle with contempt *
I will buy you when you go on sale…
  • single teardrop *

I’m more peeved that I couldn’t make a black character. Everyone is pasty pale white like a perfect world for Hitler.

oooh, I hear ya
but I think it’s a topic for another thread

Honestly there is no defending this. There is no legitimate reason female hairstyles should cost more than male hairstyles. Unless an astronomical amount of effort was put into developing the female hairstyles to the point of seriously holding back the development of other areas(get real, it wasn’t). There is no excuse and people defending it by saying ‘‘Omg it’s the same in real life!’’ and such are really missing the point.

You really…can’t defend this, and I think the price should be equalized. Whether they increase our hairstyles to equal the female prices, or lower their prices to meet ours.

One thing I will not tolerate though is the removal of the panty shots most classes have, those are there by design and aside from uppity people not wanting to look at them do not decrease the effectiveness of those specific classes. They are not obligated to make ‘‘male’’ versions of pantyshots either, and for that matter sexualizing males the same way you sexualize females rarely works out but that’s an entirely different discussion.

Basically, don’t remove the beautifully designed panty-shots and miniskirts flipping around, and give them equal prices to males. Like I’m really surprised they actually did this, knowing the current status-quo of these types of topics in the West. The slightest bit of gender inequality(I don’t care if sex is the proper word for it, it feels awkward to use that for every reference to it) sparks massive flame wars and topics about it and I don’t think they stand to gain any profit from it, and only stand to lose reputation.

And uh, if I wasn’t clear…don’t remove the panty shots, I think they’re done very well…yeah >.>
