Yep you are correct because most consumers look at the costs there and then and not over the long term when I was 15 and played ragnarok online before it became free to play this was just as it came out of beta mind you at first the subscription to me was OMG this is so expensive…
But then I did some maths and looked at it in a more long term aspect and got a penny jar put the divided amount for each day into that jar it came to something 30 penny’s a day I had a paper round that gave me like £10 a week so it was really affordable.
You just need to view things from a different viewpoint and it can change the outcome of a persons choice.
For instance to what I said you could spend every Friday night at the pub burning away $10-$40 on booze that your not really going to get much out of or spend $4.20 a week on subscription to a game that provided far more entertainment value.
