Theory Crafting + Build Compendium

Sweet build there, Bokor’s Hexing effect is nasty!

Another one to join Sadhus. :smile_cat:

I’m not sure about DM, first I need to know a couple things:

  1. How many levels does it add to a skill?
  2. How long does it last? The very next skill only?
  3. Can Pardoner make a DM scroll?

For the most part I leveled cure assuming it’d deal more damage/cure higher level ailments. Not so much for PvP, but more so for PvE because from Rank 1 + 2, you won’t have any damaging skills besides heal + cure, both with fairly low CD’s. It might be a dangerous skill in PvP due to reversi, or the rogue’s ability to steal tiles.

@ 2,
You cast the tile, walk over it and obtain the buff. After you get the buff, the next skill you cast gets boosted by DM.
No idea if it has a duration.

Ive only seen a max DM boosted max Heal. The difference in healing wasnonly about 1/5 extra.

Thats most of my knowledge :stuck_out_tongue:

Well I can answer your 2nd question: yes it only works for one next skill and in 10s after you step on the tile (or else DM will run out and you have to wait till you can cast it again).
I’m not sure if DM can surpass the skill limit (level 15) and that’s the most important part
And CD when using pardoner’s scrolls as well if they can make DM scrolls

@Pomez Is there a CD between using pardoner scrolls?

The CD is 5 minutes, but I’m sure you can just go offline and make stacks of them while you sleep.

Yup I’m pretty sure of it. Here are some videos I digged up

In the first video, that ranger used a Cure scroll (skill duration was 3s and CD was 25s). Normally Cure L1 lasts for 6s and has 19s CD, so I believe there are some drawback for using scrolls
In another vid, he used a Smite L1 scroll and it had 19s CD ~> so different skills (maybe different skill levels as well) will have different CDs when using scrolls

well we were talking about the CD between using scrolls, not between making scrolls, so we would appreciate it if you know sth about this

Oooh, whoops, I misread. I’m guessing there’s a slight cool down like most items (20-30 secs).

Wellp  since someone actually asked me to make a build and I did, might as well add it to the compendium. I just made a DPS Tank with the idea of jumping in and taking all the aggro then dishing out the damage with teammates.

Spartans
Class Path: Swordsman > Peltasta > Hoplite x 3 > Centurion

Focus: Team tank and initiator
Skills
Swordsman
Bash L5 - Just a filler skill however will be your only slashing attack
Gung Ho L5 - An increase to DPS ignoring the loss to Defense considering Peltasta will be able to block attacks and Centurion later on will have the defensive formations.
Concentrate L5 - An increase to DPS … nothing else to say other than it’s for DPS

Peltasta
Umbo Blow L5 - As a tank, you’ll be blocking a lot even as a DPS tank so this will help increase your damage after blocking successfully.
Rim Blow L5 - More damage if you have a Wiz in your team.
Swash Bluckling L5 - Tank bread and butter aggro machine

Hoplite
Stabbing L15 - MAX DPS!!! Just make sure that you are hitting all of the bunched up mobs or the boss is not moving.
Pierce L15 - For the big mobs and bosses Extra DPS
Finestra L5 - CRITS HURRAH
Long Stride L10 - Your initiation attack by jumping into a group of monsters or right to the boss and gaining aggro before setting up formation in your team.

Centurion
Conscript L1 - Subject to change with no real knowledge of what higher levels give
Winged Formation L5 - You are the Tank so you take all the damage here.
Schiltron Formation L4 - This is to keep your position set and ready by kicking everything out that approaches your formation to maybe allow a squire to set up camp or dievdirbys to carve some statues.
Testudo L4 - If you jumped in too early and your team and you cannot take the damage, just bunker up and slowly walk away.
Rotate L1 - Gotta change directions sometimes

All I got. Hope you liked the build if not, just make changes to it since it’s just a guide

Will Hexing splash or just one target cursing?

I believe there is an attribute that allows Hexing to splash.

It’s still to early to really plan builds, since we don’t know anything about the numbers attacks and beneficial effects will have and how much additional points will increase their effects. Hence no clue if it’s best to specialize or take a broader skillset. Best we can do is put some basic ideas in the open.

I’m rather fond of the idea of a wizard specialising in massive AoE spells that have a long casttime for solo play.
Something like that: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/8506tr4ryx/
Probably fun for AoE farming and mass scale PvP, although weak against single target bosses I guess.

For group play with friends a Dievdirbys or some other buff heavy class.

I don’t think anyone thinks this post is something serious at this stage, but at least we can have fun theorizing xDD

This build is good, obviously more towards group play . But u should probably invest more in Reflect Shield, it’s your main survival skill and u dont wanna get wrecked while trying to cast those skills with long cast time

Well the description sounded as if it would only reflect a single attack so I didn’t know how useful it was.
If it can take several hits, then of course it would be rather useful.

Edit:
This one might be interesting with another friend who relies on physical attacks:

Can you use the repain and maintenance skills on yourself?

Does anyone know where to find this info? Ive been reading Separu but cant find any mention.

(Regarding magic attacks needing dex to hit)

Any beta testers experience this?

Sorry for the delay! Was out celebrating July 4th here in the USA.

OP was updated, and a new daily build was selected. :sunny:

Looking forward to seeing some more amazing theory crafting!

I’ve played both Wizard and Cleric in CBT2 and nothing ever missed for me, but nothing ever landed a critical hit either. Both characters never invested a point in DEX.

Hopefully, we’ll see some changes in the next beta test because STR and INT were really the only stats you needed to invest in.

Yes they should give Spirit some bonuses because nobody spend points on it…
