Hello. I Asked you about addon policy on a previous ticket. As you can see, the response I had was that addons are not allowed, but some are “considerable”, like the EXP viewer.
I’ll go straight to the point. I have friends who use some addons, so i’d like to have a straight answer if they are allowed or not, or at least “considerable”. Please, if you, guys, can specify which ones are allowed or considerable (and even let me know what “considerable” means to you) i’d really appreciate.

-Addons that show areas of the map not explored yet.

-Addons that show information about the monster being killed (race, type, size, exp).

-Addons that show in map hidden quests and put flags above NPCs heads.

-Addons that show how many monsters of one kind are supposed to be killed in order to get its killing achievment.

For reference ill paste here my previous ticket with you answer as well about the same issue:

Hello, I’d like to know about your addon’s policy for the game Tree of Savior.
I’ve seen people using tons of addons while i myself use none. I believe i’ll be left behind if I dont use them since they are allowed, so I want to know from you if addons are allowed by IMC.
And if so, which ones? Thanks!

Greetings Savior,

Thank you for contacting us!

We would like to inform you that Add-on that modifies any game-play feature is considered as third party program and using third party programs are not allowed in the game. However, some Add-on like “Exp Viewer” is considerable.

As a reminder, we highly advise you to stay away from using third party programs like “VPNs”, “macros”, and “WTFast” to prevent possible suspension on your account.

Should you have any further concerns, please do contact us again.

post this in general discussion please.

I just did, sorry. Not sure if I can delete it tho.

I can remember an IMC staff person posting that addons are allowed as long as they don’t
-modify the client
-sniff out network traffic
-analyze or modify the clients memory in RAM
-automate gameplay
-provide unfair advantages over other players in terms of gameplay

Displaying monsters race/element/armor/hp shouldn’t be banable, since you could just memorize the monster attributes from a TOS fansite database, not to mention when attacking a monster you get indicators like “+50% pierce!” or “+100% holy”, indicating which element/armor/etc they are anyway.

Displaying monster killcounts for the killing achievement shouldn’t be banable, since you can look up this information in the adventure journal anyway.

I don’t know about the map displaying non-explored areas. However, since there is no competetive element to exploring the maps and your exploration ratio has no effect on other players i doubt that this could be considered an unfair advantage. In the end, what’s the difference between me running around with a map open and exploring it and me running around with a map open having markings where i haven’t been yet? Since there is a exploration% indicator at the top of the screen anyway, even without addons, it’s no secret when you have explored everything on the map.

As expected. People are just paranoid these days and don’t lose the opportunity to complain about anything. Any other game can have addons for the same purposes, so there’s no reason for addons not be allowed in ToS.

The addons we have right now just take information already present in the game (hidden or not) and organize them in a better way for the player. It’s just UI customization and convenience. They are not third party programs and they don’t modify any gameplay feature.

Like stated by the support team, even thought VPN is not a hack, because it’s just changing the route between your ISP and the server for better latency in case your ISP route is not optimal, it’s not recommended because it’s still a third party software and can be false detected as hack.
