you didnt read what I said then. you picked out one example I made of focusing on one demographic and focused on that one, somewhat paradoxically. the point was people miss the forest for the trees.
if someone who has paid money and patronized your game in beta stages and beyond, making a new event where they feel like they have to throw away their spent money and time is bound to alienate them. heck any time someone is disadvantaged by not abandoning their account and continuing what they have already is a failure imo. it misses the mark on the whole concept of an MMO account to begin with.
You know what? me not having played this whole time IS my fault, sure. but was that really that big of a sin? no I donât think so. The game had problems, I still played it plenty and invested in it. I recommended it to friends, wrote guides, and all that jazz I mentioned before. I gave the developers time, money, feedback, and a fair amount of dedication for months and months. The release version was disappointing in several ways so I couldnât stick with it but, I shouldnât feel like that is a hindrance to me progressing and having as much fun as everyone whos just starting now. You can say itâs still the same game but when it takes you 5 times as long to level it certainly doesnt feel like youâre playing the same game.
