Hi there
It’s been a month or so since I stopped playing.
For a small reminder I stopped at lvl270 because well I did not make a meta char and I deeply regret it. I will not again launch the eternal debate of class reset. What I am wondering is, I invested 400h in the game to get to that point, and more money than I should, I mean I loved the game.
Every now and then I tell myself maybe you should reroll instead of waiting for job reset, but then I remember all the tedious farming…
the tedious farming running marathon at evac abby and well all the high lvl grind spot
the tedious kill steal fiesta of demon prison and alameth
the tedious no heal dungeon run at early level where no one has pots and its bondfire fiesta
the tedious wait for groups
the daily quest at high lvl that requires you to kill very strong mob at the end of the worl for a xp card that is not relevant anymore since you are high lvl
the eternal talt
And I just say hell no I aint doing this one more time. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed doing it once because of the progression sensation, but doing it twice is just a hell no.
So I just wonder how do you guyz just succeed in casually say ok I messed up time to do everything again?
What is your secret god darn it ?

My answer is NO. There are many games better than this.
Grind 2 or 3 chars to lvl270 is only for people who consider this game is their life and don’t have anything else to do.

I was about to answer you in a proper way and ask you question about what trives your motivation and stuff… then I saw the instant baby rage, so I will just not take your answer into account no more grow up dude.
I like that playstyle more than western mmo with instant everything. Not because i want to grind, but because there are more possibilities no matter if they are considered good or bad.
My RO sniper was everything but common so thats my story
So you just see the game as a huge sand box, and not care about the leveling ways?
That is interesting.
But don’t you think mmorpg should base their gameplay with end game content, instead of saying our end game content is you rerolling?
reroll into a complete different class, and play something you enjoy that remotely works
for example, if you started with a wizard, reroll into a swordie, archer or cleric
and what i mean by remotely work is this:
wizard is the hardest: because ele3 is way too strong aoe to compare (probably needs a nerf, not starting a fight here), so only thing that remotely works is any wizard with linker1 (with JP gem) or linker2, or anything with chorno and buffs like thaut in.
swordie is simple: anything with pelt is going to work if your build is not very bad, or you didn’t put in wrong stat
archer: most archer end in cannoner or muskteer, so just roll anything with those at the end
forget fletcher, their aoe are not that great, so their meta is situational
cleric: as long as you can heal well, it doesn’t really matter when you end up. so from how i understand it, cleric2 and some form of other buff is good enough

Make a completely different class that you find interesting. I bury myself in alts because I love and want to play so many classes. It’s like adding more to the family and trying something new, instead of “starting over” or “trying again.”
Depends, when i find something that has my attention caught i surely will do my best getting there, but currently i let myself get distracted too easy. There needs to be something to do at high or max level to keep one motivated + fimding a “propper” character build should not be ny trial n error or massive research before starting. I personally can live with chances to screw up a character but its widely more enyoable if you at least can repair it without starting anew
I am actually with you on that one.
IMO if you reroll you should reroll to a new class
The problem is that in the end the progression system will be the same and the problems will stay the same. I just don’t understand how people cope with dealing with the same leveling progression over and over again.
The way I see it is, you are doing the same stuff with something different.
Then again that is my point of view in every mmo I played I only played one char because it was mine I loved it, and I invested all I got in it. The problem is in ToS you can easily start hating your char but way too far in the game to just say welp nvm that was not for me.
One good thing is, you get bonus exp when you have high level characters in the team lobby, so at least you have that.
Yes team level is actually a good feature (I have 3lvl 200 pet ^^)
The problem is it’s almost irrelevant. The xp gain is additive in the same way of xp tome, and well every body know xp tome is a scam. In the end you get really really small boost.
But the idea was neat.
It sounds to me, assuming you really enjoy these types of grindy games, like you just haven’t come across a class or build that you really enjoy playing. I had a Mage in icbt2 and I got to summoner and just kinda stopped playing. When the servers opened up for iobt I rolled a cleric priest3 monk3 because they’re easy to make and not too costly, again I gave that char up around level 226.
Then I picked up an archer and decided I wanted to try making my own poison based Wugushi build, and I fell in love. I’m level 263 atm with that char and I started brewing with a hunter/scout/falconer pvp build that I’m starting to level on the side. That char is equally as fun as my Wugu, I actually enjoy using the unique skills in both of these two different archer builds.
I would suggest ignoring the story, since you already went through it all, and just try to find a class and build that YOU enjoy playing. Don’t worry about people and their Meta-builds, find yourself a guild who will support your decisions and have some fun!
If you level multiple chars alongside each other (divide your daily time between them), though, it ends up being a nice boost at low to medium levels. I basically only have time for my dungeon and mission runs if I do that, and those don’t have the map multiplier.
this is the secret
btw adjust accodingly, dont follow blindly
edit: use pardoner buffs and buy lv10 potions they cheap asf
This game provides many jobs to combine and that’s it’s purpose. To enjoy the game, u should have at least 2 chars, 1 crafting char for silver making, 1 for in game pve contents or pvp.
For me, playing this game is like living a real life, so much stress, so much restriction, so much “oh, damn” moment.
The way to deal with the boring leveling up? Dont rush, make more friends and enjoy your moment.
