The game isnt boring, but i am disappointed with some things of course. Like the poor AI. It’s even hard to mob the monsters on the screen because they will stand still for 2 or 3 seconds.
A quicker reaction at least for the first attack they take can help a lot

I kind of have to agree. To be honest probably 90% of the people playing this game played either iro or some ro server. So im assume that most of us want a challenge, because RO had some challenging monsters, and you can make a party for anything. Enough of that. Personally me i got level 60 in like 2 days here playing cleric-preist. I came to play this game for one reason. One reason only. The fliping kamehameha skill monks can use. Nothing else. I came here with some buddies. I told them i’ll get monk and if i cant find a reason to play this game i’ll just quit. Yet right now im bored as flip mainly because my class cant mob monsters can only kill 2 monsters at a time for some reason. NOONE wants to party or has reason to party with a cleric/preist at this low of level since right now its a solo game. I only died to regular mobs. Bosses are… ya… . i just do the same thing to all the bosses. I did like the wolf though. He wasnt hard but it was cool. I read these responses and people are like… wait for “this” and “that” im like i might quit before that. That what you should worry about. Because at the moment i see no point in playing. In other games i knew why i was grinding, like to kill Boss monsters like crazy reap the rewards and monopolize, or make the best guild. Yet here i cant see past the kamehameha. First playing i thought this was cool they got a beginner course with bosses showing where there going to atk so you get used to the game, but now i see thats just a handicap. Seems the only point in killing monsters now is for levels. You get exp from killing them or goto wing for cards. THere are like no good drops to look foward to that i can see to make hunting worth wild. (Besides that vubbee fighter blood) . So just saying usually the game gets boring at higher higher levels or max. Shouldnt get boring when starting out that what causes people to leave. Hell i had all my gems on me and died and lost them all and continue to play so im no stranger to grinding like a mad dog, just whats the point?

This isn’t RO, but it did use the title of RO’s spiritual successor as its advertisement. So it isn’t the fans’ fault to compare the two games. RO in itself had alot of problems but the reason why it was a great game was because its mechanics promoted a healthy community which ToS lacks at the moment.

Mob AI is ok for large hordes. It’s straightforward with just a bit of tweaks (like the abillity to surround you instead of just attacking from the same side).

…and mobs even can use friendly heals and so on, while some people can’t =.=

The AI is too easy. Monster attack animation delay is too long. No class is weak to any types of mob. No strategy is needed to defeat mobs.

this is maybe a month long topic, but to TC, have you ever played RO right after it out? like when everyone rushing for assasin? monster don’t have skill yet?

try to get to higher level, and go find some magic homing ranged attack mob while playing pure dps class, magic is undodgeable, so my dex ranger build is useless and they ■■■■ you like an anal doll

I verified this some time ago.

I actually timed it. Some monsters are ok and have 1 second delay but there are monsters up to 5 second delay or more. Although the other was right that it usually isn’t the initial agro phase that lags, but the animation delay (movement, skill or normal attacks).

The other problem is that there is a delay after the monster reaches you. Hence monster moves to your location > Pause for 3 seconds > swings for damage. During that 3 seconds you can easily kite it, then the mob have to repeat moving to your location and trying to hit you again.

This problem is especially pronounced for ranged character as it makes kiting far too easy.

Another problem due to the really long animation delay is that monsters don’t ever combo their skills to make it effective. e.g. they cast joint penalty on you (and your companion), and the next attack will come so much later, usually the link is broken by the time the next attack hits. So essentially the monster just wasted ~10 seconds.
