The Problem With Grinding - Feedback

Although I havent grinded much at all from 1-145, Id say that grinding in this game would be much more fun than it is atm only if…

  1. We were able to add friends (without a social aspect, it feels like youre playing a single player game. And a grind heavy single player game is never an enjoyable game). This is an easy fix.
  2. No reward for challenging yourself to grind in more dangerous circumstances. Instead, you get a heavy damage penalty with no real exp boost from the mobs. To add to that, this game has 600 lvs (maybe more) and yet it still has the mindset of a ~100lv game (assuming OBT mechanics is the same as CBT). Instead of applying heavy damage reduction with a ~15lv gap which would otherwise be reasonable in a 100lv game, make it a ~40-50lv gap instead. Also the exp gain from high lv mobs definitely needs a boost.
  3. Mob density. I think that this factor could be freely manipulated to promote higher mob spawns at say… when the game first releases, and reduce the spawn rate slowly as the players spread out more. This would make much fewer people quit within the first 100 lvs imo.
  4. Improved party system. Although I like many aspects of the current system, I think they should make it easier to request joining a party. You should be able to make that request simply by right clicking on the tab for nearby parties. The party sorting system is pretty useless right now. It should have more filter options :>

Personally, I am not really intimidated by the exp chart atm. We experience a big slope increase after the 136 wall and thats why 136-186 is so difficult. The monster exp reward simply couldnt keep up. If youre interested in numbers, here are the approx averaged exp% increases/lv over every ‘wall bracket’. Keep in mind these are just averages.
lv 46-86 = 14% increase/lv, 87-136 = 8.7%, 137-186 = 8.6%, 187-236 = 4.3%, and 237-286 = 3.4%. As you can see, additional exp required per level will fall off pretty quickly after the 186 wall (unless we get another huge boose in exp req after the 300s).

Pretty much, we need more reasons to grind, because if you dont want to level or quest anymore you have no real choice. Sometimes you want 1v1 challenge higher mobs, or mindlessly destroy lower level mobs (for mats or smth) and it should be “profitable expwise”.
