The iToS Weekly Round-up Thread

I’m surprises the facts that non of the Taoist-Ele-Pyromancer surpass Crevox’s summon damage even though it’s ice attribute boss. Yikes. Pyromancer need some buff.

Fire doesn’t deal more damage to Ice though, and cloth armor target is quite the advantage to summons. If anything, I’m surprised there aren’t more summoners ranking high.

The ep13 pyro sfr buffs did wonders in ktos, some weeks Pyro ranked #1

It is weird that ice does 50% more damage to fire but fire don’t do increased damage to ice, I think they should introduce new elements like water.

There isn’t that many people playing summoners, the gameplay is very niche and not for everyones taste.

I am looking foward for the wizard changes, this featherfoot kurdaicha buils is boring as hell.

Summons don’t know how to dodge the frost wave and soak it every time it goes off, getting debuffed and losing almost all of their damage every time. We have to constantly either resummon, or rework our rotation around holding/timing Sauk to interrupt it every time. The summons also kill the ice pillars, so you can’t use those to avoid it. This adds a lot of technicality to the fight that ends up being a DPS loss even if you play around it perfectly.

On top of this, the orb mechanic (“Magic Absorption”) is always very bad for summoner. Summoners do both physical and magic damage, and yet you can only pick one orb. We have no choice but to remove the enemy’s physical resistance, but then all of our magic damage gets gutted for a very extended period of time. Ignas himself does a fair amount of magic damage, but then you still have your own skills, in addition to the Skeleton Mage and Corpse Tower, all of which is greatly reduced.

The benefit of fighting cloth armor doesn’t make up for either of these negatives, especially when cloth armor harms us a bit as well.

[The iToS Weekly Round-up]

Welcome to your weekly dose of info round-up on Guild Territory Wars, Boruta Raids and Weekly Boss Raids on every server! In here, I will be doing on covering on all servers, Klaipeda, Fedimian, Telsiai, Silute and any new happenings in Tree of Savior every week on Monday/Tuesday!

[February Week 1, 2021]

Apologies for the few weeks of rather sparse Round-Ups due to IRL issues. However, it has given me a bit of time to reflect on how I do my Round-Ups, and I am intending to changing the format of the Round-Ups bit by bit (changing section names, writing less so I write less mistakes, free up space for Giltine Raid news and have it easier for myself since I’m going to be a bit busier IRL, etc), so I hope these changes don’t affect the reading experience much. If there’s anything you want changed, feel free to drop a comment in the thread!

The EP 12-2 and EP 13 content patch is hitting IToS at the same time this week bringing in loads of new class changes, new content changes, equipment, quests and more. With such a huge change, there is bound to be changes in the rankings, be it the players or the builds used, so do look out for the turbulent changes in rankings in the weeks going forward! On a side note, the Telsiai server has received a bunch of problems, ranging from lags, bugs and constant server problems this week (with no compensation for them), so expect rankings to suffer in Telsiai to suffer this week.

Over at KToS, IMC is being sneaky by giving the KTest servers some class balances pertaining to Archer classes other than Mergen-related builds, just right after IMC dropped the IToS patch notes, so my brain cannot handle reading the KTest google-translated patch notes right after reading the huge patch we will receive this week on IToS, It would be interesting to see if this Archer class balance will shake things up, especially with how the Mergen build is ruling the Archer tree meta for months now.

[44th Weekly Boss Raid Results]

This week’s WBR is filled with many irritating patterns, including a Critical Resistance Specialty that is sure to hamper the damage of DPS builds. With that said, its typing really benefits Magic DPS builds, especially the well-known Shadowmancer bossing build, so it is no surprise that Shadowmancers really shine in this Weekly Boss Raid. It is no surprise then, that Meyi of Telsiai has taken a huge lead this week to take top spot for all class trees and server top rankers, dealing 24.4 B damage as a Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist!

  • Top Swordsman Build:
    • Kirarin [Telsiai], Fencer | Matador | Barbarian, 13.2 B
  • Top Wizard Build:
    • Meyi [Telsiai], Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist, 24.4 B :star2:
  • Top Archer Build:
    • DestinedWing [Telsiai], Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser, 12.1 B
  • Top Cleric Build:
    • Nath [Silute], Exorcist | Miko | Plague Doctor, 11.2 B
  • Top Scout Build:
    • Tyhz [Telsiai], Schwarzer Reiter | Enchanter | Assassin, 6.6 B

[Swordsman]

Klaipeda: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian
Fedimian: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian
Telsiai: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian :star2:
Silute: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian

Swordsmen remains unchanged as the toothpick build still remains as the best Swordsman DPS build for generally everything. With that said, Kirarin of Telsiai has topped the swordsmen rankings on all servers as a Matador | Fencer | Barbarian dealing 13.2 B damage this week.

[Wizard]

Klaipeda: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist
Fedimian: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist
Telsiai: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist :star2:
Silute: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist

This WBR is really made for Dark Wizards to shine with all the advantageous typing adding to the Shadowmancer build’s bossing capabilities. This week’s results on all servers really shows this with every top wizard rankers on all servers dealing close to or more than 20 B damage, a ridiculous number to begin with. Meyi of Telsiai leads the pack this week for all wizards and server rankers this week as a Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist, dealing a staggering 24.4 B damage. The content patch this week aims to take Taoist out of the Shadowmancer equation, and KToS players have mostly opted for Bokor to replace Taoist, so expect minor changes to the Shadowmancer build next week onwards.

[Archer]

Klaipeda: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser
Fedimian: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser
Telsiai: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser :star2:
Silute: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser

The stellar Mergen build remains far and away on top of the Archer tree rankings as always, as DestinedWing of Telsiai takes top spot for Archer this week as a Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser dealing 12.1 B damage. With that said, the content update this week is very sure to change things as IMC introduces a new class, Arquebusier, and also moves to reduce Appraiser’s capabilities to let other classes shine. KToS rankings have shown that Mergens have shifted to Fletcher due to these changes, so there may be minor changes in the Mergen build going forward.

[Cleric]

Klaipeda: Exorcist | Miko | Plague Doctor
Fedimian: Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko
Telsiai: Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko
Silute: Exorcist | Miko | Plague Doctor :star2:

The Cleric meta has interestingly shifted towards 2 kinds of Magic DPS Clerics, one leaning more on Plague Doctor as a DPS class, and the other leaning more on the Exorcist-Miko combo for its DPS. Nath of Silute takes top Cleric spot for all server rankers this week, using an Exorcist | Miko | Plague Doctor build to deal 11.2 B damage. The content patch this week sees the Sadhu class getting buffed, so it would be interesting to see if those buffs have any effect on the rankings going forward.

[Scout]

Klaipeda: Ardito | Rogue | Assassin
Fedimian: Rangda | Assassin | Linker
Telsiai: Schwarzer Reiter | Enchanter | Assassin :star2:
Silute: Bullet Marker | Sheriff | Assassin

Alas (pfft), this is the last week for the GT-SR to ever shine before IMC brings in the content patch containing a new class, Clown, and buffs that is sure to buff every other variants of scout above the GT-SR. Perhaps due to this, the GT-SR has made one final effort to take the top scout rankings for the last time as Tyhz of Telsiai channels the inner Nakazato one last time with the GT-SR (hopefully), dealing 6.6 B damage as a Schwarzer Reiter | Enchanter | Assassin. Looking at the KToS meta, their servers have seen a rise in both dagger and gun scouts using Clown and swapping Vaivoras, so it will be interesting how the scouts in IToS go about dealing with this.

Seems like this thread will die in 4 days, is there any way to extend a thread’s deadline before I consider making another thread next week.

maybe can do it in the form of month ? each month each thread, just need to rmb to link to the new post at the end maybe

or maybe the forum mods can help kek if they are reading at all.

just make The iToS Weekly Round-up Thread 2.0

lazy monk…

Try PMing a staff member on the forums maybe

Guess that’s fixed, no more time limit on the thread :innocent:

Now I better hope I don’t hit that [Solution] button accidentally …

so to make giltine you need a boruta level 10 + a random legend card level 10.

good joke imc.

A quick heads up before I start writing the round-up, guild symbols aren’t loading on a few rankings for me to screenshot (probably due to IMC server issues, never had a problem before this), so guilds, please don’t hunt me down for not screenshotting guild symbols properly.

Unstable server conditions is part of ToS history. Actually embodies the round up perfectly

Guild symbols don’t appear for me either on the rankings. And those will be short, as it takes again one hour to kill Boruta for the top guild on the server, so all others simply passed on that.

[February Week 2, 2021]

The IToS servers have finally received the latest content patch, EP 12-2 and EP 13, and well …

The EP 12-2 and EP 13 content patch seems to come with a huge plethora of problems that unfortunately incites further disappointment with the players instead of the excitement and fun that should’ve come with a new content patch. This is more notable in Telsiai, where their server have been facing server issues for more than 2 weeks including this content patch. With many players already down in the dumps with the requirements of the new content and these game-breaking bugs, it brings into context how untimely it is for IMC to release a new Leticia to spend TP, especially on a game that is nigh unplayable at the moment.

With that said, the content patch brings many new content and class changes to the game, so expect a lot of changes to the rankings while players proceed to grind their way through to Lvl 458 for the endgame content this patch and more. In the midst of all the chaos in this turbulent week, a team from Klaipeda has become the first out of all server teams to clear Giltine’s Legend Raid, Demonic Sanctuary: Hell Mode, so congratulations to Crevox, Adorish, NewSavior, Narcissus and nobodyweed for this achievement!

Nothing much is going on in the lands of KToS as players are expecting the arrival of the new Archer changes that are sure to change the Archer meta. With that said, IMC have a few TP packages in store for KToS, and we may have to expect it coming to IToS as well (Link: http://tos.nexon.com/news/tosnotice/view.aspx?n4ArticleSN=2283). Also, a recent Hope to Development note by IMC seem to express their intentions to postpone their PvP balancing plans to the later half of the year, so I guess there’s that.

  • IMC server issues, so no Guild symbols for some reason

  • Congratulations to Impetus for fastest Boruta timing this week at 24 minutes 25 seconds

[45th Weekly Boss Raid Results]

The new patch brings new class changes and new modifiers to monster property/attributes/defense type, so expect things to change in the weeks to come. Also, the scores may differ due to various factors (doing WBR before or after content patch since WBR level changes from Lvl 440 to 460, server issues, players busy with the new content etc), and may not be a good measure of the standings of the various class builds featured this week.

This week’s WBR features high physical/magic defense, a lack of property type and some weaknesses in Pierce/Arrow/Pistol damage, or simply put, a rather tanky boss. Myz of Silute has taken top spot for all class trees on all servers with a Fencer | Matador | Barbarian build this week with 13.1 B damage.

  • Top Swordsman Build:
    • Myz [Silute], Fencer | Matador | Barbarian, 13.1 B :star2:
  • Top Wizard Build:
    • Crevox [Klaipeda], Sorcerer | Necromancer | Featherfoot, 13.0 B
  • Top Archer Build:
    • DestinedWing [Telsiai], Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser, 10.4 B
  • Top Cleric Build:
    • RoseQuartz [Telsiai], Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko, 11.2 B
  • Top Scout Build:
    • Tyhz [Telsiai], Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin, 11.6 B

[Swordsman]

  • Klaipeda:
    • 1st and 3rd place: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian
  • Fedimian:
    • 1st and 3rd place: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian
    • 2nd place: Blossom Blader | Doppelsoeldner | Highlander
  • Telsiai:
    • 1st to 3rd place: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian
  • Silute:
    • 1st :star2: to 3rd place: Fencer | Matador | Barbarian

The toothpick build rules the Swordsmen rankings this week against a WBR boss weak to Pierce damage, and Myz of Silute has taken top spot not only for Swordsmen, but for all class trees and servers, dealing 13.1 B damage as a Fencer | Matador | Barbarian. Even after the class changes to Swordsmen, it seems that the toothpick rapier build still remains strong, though there is a new contender Blossom Blader | Doppelsoeldner | Highlander build starting to make an appearance in the rankings, dealing 6.1 B damage despite the Pierce disadvantage.

[Wizard]

  • Klaipeda:
    • 1st :star2: and 2nd place: Sorcerer | Necromancer | Featherfoot
    • 3rd place: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist
  • Fedimian:
    • 1st place: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist
    • 2nd and 3rd place: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Bokor
  • Telsiai:
    • 1st to 3rd place: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Bokor
  • Silute:
    • 1st place: Sorcerer | Necromancer | Featherfoot
    • 2nd place: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Bokor
    • 3rd place: Shadowmancer | Featherfoot | Taoist

The Wizard rankings this week sees a mix of Shadowmancer and Sorcerer builds, and Crevox of Klaipeda has taken top spot for Wizard (very close to taking top spot on all class trees and servers, actually), as a Sorcerer | Necromancer | Featherfoot with 13.0 B damage. It is also of note that, due to the situation with this week’s WBR and the content patch, there are 2 types of Shadowmancer builds, one with the old Taoist and one with the new Bokor.

[Archer]

  • Klaipeda:
    • 1st to 3rd place: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser
  • Fedimian:
    • 1st place: Mergen | Ranger | Fletcher
    • 2nd and 3rd place: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser
  • Telsiai:
    • 1st :star2: place: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser
    • 2nd place: Mergen | Ranger | Fletcher
    • 3rd place: Arbalester | Ranger | Fletcher
  • Silute:
    • 1st and 3rd place: Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser
    • 2nd place: Mergen | Ranger | Fletcher

Mergens dominate the Archer tree rankings as expected, as DestinedWing of Telsiai dominates the Archer rankings with 10.4 B damage as a Mergen | Ranger | Appraiser. With that said, the Archer tree also sees a change in the tried-and-tested Mergen build due to class changes to Archer classes, as there are now Fletcher and Appraiser variants, so it’ll be interesting to see which of the two will remain from next week onwards.

[Cleric]

  • Klaipeda:
    • 1st place: Inquisitor | Zealot | Druid
    • 2nd and 3rd place: Exorcist | Miko | Plague Doctor
  • Fedimian:
    • 1st place: Inquisitor | Zealot | Druid,
    • 2nd place: Inquisitor | Zealot | Monk
    • 3rd place: Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko
  • Telsiai:
    • 1st :star2: place: Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko
    • 2nd place: Chaplain | Dievdirbys | Krivis
    • 3rd place: Inquisitor | Zealot | Druid
  • Silute:
    • 1st place: Inquisitor | Zealot | Druid
    • 2nd place: Exorcist | Miko | Plague Doctor
    • 3rd place: Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko

The rankings this week sees a few Inquisitor. Exorcist and Plague Doctor-focused builds dominate the rankings, and RoseQuartz of Telsiai takes top Cleric spot this week as a Plague Doctor | Druid | Miko dealing 6.7 B damage. Taking the recent content patch in mind, it will be interesting to see what builds will crowd the rankings few weeks down the line.

With that said, the appearance of 2nd place Chaplain | Dievdirbys | Krivis on the Telsiai Cleric rankings is probably the biggest surprise for this week’s rankings (even with taking into account KToS and JToS results in mind), being able to out-DPS even the top rankers of the other 3 servers this week with 5.9 B. The possible explanations would be how a build fully geared towards Additional Damage has an advantage on this WBR’s increased physical/magic defense, but I could be wrong. Either way, this really shows a strong case on the viability of Chaplain as a DPS class even with such a support-oriented build.

[Scout]

  • Klaipeda:
    • 1st place Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin
    • 2nd place Ardito | Rogue | Assassin
    • 3rd place Bullet Marker | Outlaw | Assassin
  • Fedimian:
    • 1st and 3rd place Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin
    • 2nd place Clown | Rogue | Assassin
  • Telsiai:
    • 1st :star2: and 2nd place Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin
    • 3rd place Bullet Marker | Sheriff | Assassin
  • Silute:
    • 1st to 3rd place Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin

The age of Clowns have come to the Scout tree, as every top ranker of each server seems to be running the Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin build this week. In the latest episode of Initial Scout, Tyhz of Telsiai has finally ditched his GT-SR somewhere and has taken top spot on the Scout rankings, dealing 11.6 B as a Bullet Marker | Clown | Assassin. Various forms of Assassins rule the rankings this week as we see Ardito/Clown/Outlaw of Rogues and Sheriff/Clown/Outlaw variants of Bullet Markers. In particularly, we rarely see Outlaw on rankings, dealing 6.0 B damage with Bullet Marker | Outlaw | Assassin.
