I’m thinking it’s the kriv vaivora at work here. High stat phys clerics are pretty good right now( well, namely inqui/zeal/kriv) with the current kriv, kriv doing roughly 60% of the work and i can imagine what if that kriv is juiced like Mayweather. Also with the new “balancing”, Cloth-types used to have a really big advantage againsts magic and really big disadvantage againsts slash, right now they’re almost even.
Oops, let me get this out of the way first … I copied the kToS WBR boss type wrongly, its Leather-Plant, not Cloth-Insect
.
With that said, if I were to make an extremely wild (and probably incorrect) guess, I simply think the convergence of three factors: the existence of Res Sacrae (especially invested ones) allowing players to gain significant enough damage to overcome type advantages, the aftermath of kToS’s situation leading up to that notorious livestream causing players (whales and veterans included) to leave, and the fact that Scouts/Clerics aren’t that popular (not top Swordsman/Wizard/Archer DPS meta hurr durr) to begin with caused such a steep slope in WBR scores from 1st to 5th, thus causing such a weird table where Physical Clerics can be so far apart in scores, taking 1st and 4th/5th in rankings with such a huge gap in-between them … or maybe, some Inquisitors used Inquisitor Vaivora while other Inquisitors used Krivis Vaivora, or they simply played better
.
(Incoming somwhat-irrelevant rant, not for the easily-triggered)
(Server drama trigger warning: a rant I want to get out while I’m on this topic, to anyone triggered by this, I apologize but just treat it as a misapprehension of mine)
On a side note, ever since a few weeks after Res Sacrae’s introduction, I’ve been seeing a weird trend where WBR scores are becoming increasingly influenced based on the capacity of its server’s whales/veterans (the trend has become significant in recent weeks). While its normal for every WBR rankings across all class trees and servers to have a slope in damage from 1st to 5th depending on a player’s investment and experience, the introduction of Res Sacrae has really amplified the significance of player investment in the slope of WBR scores.
In Fedimian, WBR scores across the board are generally lower than other servers due to various factors (lower player base, less competition, less drops on market, higher prices, player investment becomes more difficult etc), but of course, there will always be that one or two players here and there that can overcome such factors resulting in such a huge jump over 2nd-3rd rank. Klaipeda and Silute have it better with such factors and have a healthy population for competition, so scores are generally higher, but one can still see the few players in these servers that have a significant increase from 1st-3rd to 2nd-5th (though the slope is less steep) … and then there’s Telsiai where I see builds like Fencer | Matador | Doppelsoeldner come out, the competition between 1st-5th place (especially on Swordsman/Wizard/Archer) can be so competitive and close at times despite how peaceful it is
and a whole 1st-5th place can out-DPS another server’s 1st-2nd place. I also heard that Telsiai’s TP-to-IRL-Cash rate is better than other servers, but I didn’t confirm this though if its true then player investment is easier as well. A player’s investment, experience, class build and other factors usually determines the WBR score, but I’m rather annoyed that Res Sacrae has such huge implications on the total WBR score and that I feel IMC really did not think this through when making Res Sacrae to the point of them capping its max level at some point to prevent players from progressing it further.
Its just a minor gripe of mine, but the fact that a single equipment tipped the balance that much over proper class balancing this much irritates me a little whenever I write the Round-Up as a reference to inform players of the state of class balancing, like that feeling watching Pyromancer-Taoist take Bokor over Elementalist despite the efforts IMC did to split elemental wizards apart and create synergies within their categories… JK its rather hard to describe this triggering.
Not really a drama-inducing sentiment, Klai sort of has the inverse problem where no one wants to run res and hard res is just so late because of the time zone spread of the server pop that only a small handful of people even run it. Looking forward to those changes more than anything, and there’s no guarantee they’re coming anytime soon to itos.
As for class balance, it feels like wizards (and DPS clerics) are really in the “right” kind of place, comparatively, since there’s more than 1 (or 2) successful builds in the damn tree. The damage differences between builds aren’t orders of magnitude apart, which phys DPS base classes are currently suffering from. I agree that it’s unfortunate that they sort of over-buffed bokor but ele was dominant for 3 years, almost half the game’s life. That isn’t to say that I don’t think ele should be buffed or comparable, but I think IMC realizes that they are slow to make class changes (see recent Q&As) and they do sometimes fear over-buffing something and throwing the PVE meta into disarray until they can come up with a way to buff something else “enough” rather than pull the rug out from under a class they buffed.
Telsiai’s economy is totally different than Klai’s, they are very different culturally and I don’t think it’s just the TP cost. Server pop is one thing, but I would say the biggest difference in our economies is that Telsiai has a much higher % of actual “hardcore/end-game” PVE players, where Klai has a lot more casual/“cosmetics” players (I would say that Klai and Silute have more PVP-interested players though). Someone posted a screenshot recently of like 30 base camps outside Giltine on Telsiai, whereas the 4th/5th/6th 5 man Giltine groups only cleared in the last couple weeks on Klai and there are like 5 repair shops at Predzia on a good day. On the other hand though, there are like 20 base camps at a big GTW map entrance every Sunday on Klai, so I would argue that Tels’ priorities and Klai’s are just very different.
As far as Fedimian goes, i stopped caring about WSR since a while.
I’m not having much luck with enhancing so far, and there are people doing it in the middle of the night of the last day so that you can’t even try contesting them, so why should i even spend time and effort trying?
I just try to do a good try at the start of the week (unless there are attack bonuses on the weekend), take the total damage reward and leave it as that, avoiding any waste of time.
i think its time to move on from tos xd as much as i like the game it just feel like a chore for me now maybe things will change in the future but who knows maybe someday they ll stop making paladin a fuc king healer but who knows
@alex_rivera_a IMC certainly isn’t helping with that, Monk and Krivis Vaivora is coming, and Zealot Vaivora details are being announced next week (no Paladin Vaivora yet though, sadly).
Haha to be honest its just some Monk whining really, I just needed to get that off my chest after looking at the WBR rankings in recent weeks (ever since Res Sacrae … ). Next week’s going to be great for kToS and iToS with both of them having their individual patches so I guess that’s going to liven things up.
Also, JToS’s 57th Week Report, if anyone is interested.
i can already see the paladin VV beign a 1h mace with con/spr and some sh1t healer effect
Lot’s of people are quitting in telsiai, undercutting each other for fast sell in the RMT market. This is like a big sale for whales as they buy can much more silver for very little money.
Telsiai Is a Joke, Every other day there Is a tantrum on the forum about people exploiting something to boost their Attack above and beyond, and the interested part Always end up saying you’re jealous instead of providing explanation. And before you try to deny It and flame me, keep in mind you’re getting completely exposed with this new clover event where the other servers luckyest players have reached around +20/21 while you’ve got like a never ending list of +28
good thing lvl 4 effect is ■■■■, so i can just grab a lvl 1 and be done with it ( for pvp things xd )
A rushed Round-Up is forever bad, but a delayed Round-Up will eventually be good.
-Something something something a Monk once said somewhere probably
IRL issues preventing me from writing Round-Up on time this week, probably writing it tomorrow or something instead.

Take ur time my lord

[May Week 5 (kinda), May 25 - May 31, 2021]

The next major content patch for the iToS community has finally arrived, bringing with it 5 new Vaivora weapons (only Monk Vaivora matters, really), reworks for existing raids, class balance changes and more which is sure to shake up the game’s meta! The main headliner for this patch though, is the rework of Giltine’s Demonic Sanctuary Legend Raid that has been notorious for giving IMC loads of problems and taking over 4 reworks to finally get to this point where the player base is satisfied with, along with new rewards for clearing the raid so do check it out!

Meanwhile in kToS, IMC is still underway with the 2nd patch of their May - June plans after their cancelled livestream plans for the game … and it seems that the kToS player base aren’t generally happy with it as the patch focused on increasing skill factor with lowering damage tick rates, and included a support rework that forces full supports to invest in attack power to actually make full use out of their support abilities, thus further potentially killing off their full support player base in hypocritical fashion. The mood seems grim with the whole community as a whole as IMC continues to struggle with their failed plans, and they may need to tough it out for some time for new content that can turn this situation around amidst these dire circumstances.

- Congratulations to Aqua of Silute for clearing Giltine Guild Raid the fastest this week at 22 minutes 58 seconds!!
In addition to that, this week sees the release of the newly-reworked Giltine Demonic Sanctuary Legend Raid … so Congratulations to the following parties for getting 1st clear of the raid on their respective servers and getting the Death Empress title!!

In chronological order:
Telsiai: Tyhz, DestinedWing, Kirarin, Fufa, Ariez
Silute: Rowi, Ellohihn, Myz, Schramm, Brennan
Klaipeda: Adorish, coochlicker, Wyldrin, nobodyweed, Crevox
Fedimian: Akroma, Choo, PrayForMe, Kasane, Norman
… with that said, there seems to be a problem in Fedimian where the first clear isn’t given to the first party (even after clearing it twice), but was given to the next party instead. The party is probably bugged or something, but for some reason their report is getting flagged for whatever reason, so I hope for the best that IMC can clear this issue, this just puts a damper on such an auspicious achievement.

Congratulations for Reverie for being the first guild in Klaipeda to get to Lvl 20!

Yes, I got a Monk Vaivora today and it is awesome as heck.
Once again … Congratulations to the following parties for getting 1st clear of the newly-reworked Giltine Demonic Sanctuary Legend Raid in their respective servers!!
Listed in chronological order from earliest onwards:
Telsiai: Tyhz, DestinedWing, Kirarin, Fufa, Ariez

Silute: Rowi, Ellohihn, Myz, Schramm, Brennan
Klaipeda: Adorish, coochlicker, Wyldrin, nobodyweed, Crevox

Fedimian: Akroma, Choo, PrayForMe, Kasane, Norman

… uh wait, wrong picture,

Just to explain the absence of the [Death Empress] title and the oddness in the Fedimian party picture, as previously mentioned, there is currently a bug in Fedimian with regards to raid rankings that caused the first clear acknowledgements to not be given to the actual first clear party in question. Due to that, the first party in Fedimian to clear the reworked Demonic Sanctuary was not rewarded the title at all. From the bug reports they’ve submitted, they even cleared the raid twice to no avail, only for another party to clear it next and get the title instead despite not being the first to clear it. Furthermore, bug reports on this particular issue has been flagged for some reason, making the bug-fixing process more irritating.

There have also been other information supporting the existence of this bug as well, with Fedimian servers announcing a new record for White Witch Legend Raid for a party even though there already is a faster pre-existing record from another party. I’ve also heard that this problem happened before when White Witch Legend Raid was first released, so all this is just a huge downer for what would’ve been a great time to celebrate the latest batch of content. All hopes are on IMC to right this wrong and to bring this whole situation to a closure. (Bug reports in question: Link 1, Link 2)
Also, JToS’s 58th Week Report, if anyone is interested. From a source, apparently Sierra powder prices are rising as JToS players are buying them up to probably gear up. Expect a good rise in the JToS rankings in the coming weeks!
Feelsbadman another delay, just got a vaccine shot yesterday and I feel like absolute bonkers today. I’ll try to get it out few days later.

[June Week 1, June 1 - June 7, 2021]

A much-delayed Round-Up has finally arrived after a short break I took from recovering from vaccine side-effect buffooneries, though with that said, quite a number of eventful things have happened while I wasn’t paying attention. From hilarious GTW incidents, dumb Giltine Legend Raid title mishaps, the release of Remake: Tree of Savior mobile game that’s only for JP, to what I hear are the attack of the invisible tornado nation in the once-peaceful JS village, it seems like even ToS bugs are acting like proper in-game events and features in iToS’s farming phase leading to the next content patch.
Over at kToS land, IMC has recently dropped a huge Developer’s Blog about their next major content update: Project NEXT, with part 1 of its contents being laid out a few days ago with a rather crude translation found in iToS’s official website at Tree of Savior (rather ironic how crude and official is in the same sentence, huh?). Feedback from all players across all communities so far have been tremendously positive with barely any complaints for once, much to my personal surprise, and IMC is clearly on the right track with their plans this time round. IMC usually releases Developer’s Blogs on these kind of major content updates in 3 or more parts, so expect more in the coming weeks!

A small update on Fedimian’s First Party [Death Empress] title shenanigans, from what I heard, it seems like IMC has taken steps to fix the issue by removing the titles from the party who cleared after the first party … but not giving the titles to the first party so …

Weekly Boss Raid Thread v3.0, 62nd week: On Break
(Disclaimer: With recent weeks, the existence of fully-invested Res Sacrae has really given any class builds a huge edge over non-invested Res Sacrae even with disadvantageous typings at times, so for anyone using these rankings as reference for class builds, IMO any build within rank 1-5 or even 1-10 are all great references for what to go for, not just Rank 1)
While Shanochi is on break with his Weekly Boss Guide, I was thinking of filling in to some extent with my casual knowledge about the boss in the meantime … but a mixture of forgetfulness, like stocking up on potions before entering WBR and turning on enemy effects to actually see green walls and static floors, followed by a vaccine jab that took me out for a few day would make it impossible for me to offer any good advice.
