I have seen all over the forums that “these problems are acceptable in beta but…” followed by insert thing here that is currently pissing them off.

Well I’m sorry to tell you people, this game is actually STILL in beta. Those fancy packs we all bought were for gaining something called Early Access. Which moral issues notwithstanding is 100% still in beta.

You see, right now, even though we have all paid them money. We paid early to gain early access to the game. IE: We are here early. IE: It’s not out yet. Ect. Ect. Ad infinum.

Then we get to the “Well what is this early access nonsense and what does it have to do with me?”

What it is, is a blatant money grubbing(used in the loosest sense) tactic for basically tricking people into paying real money, to test various aspects of their game out. That’s whats going on here.

Here is an example of some of the questions i regularly see being asked here.

Why havn’t you(imc) fixed the myriad of bugs that were present during the CBT that we all reported?
The truth is since in their(imc) minds this is still technically the beta they(imc) probably does not see this as a serious problem. (Not quite ethical, true. But still completely within thier right.)

I could wax on for hours about this but i’ll try to keep it brief.
Are there serious game breaking issues right now. Absoeffinglutely.
Dungeons down.
Marketplace in shambles.
Rampant(EFFING RAMPANT) bot spams.
Server stability.

Etc. Etc. We all know whats wrong. So they almost certainly know whats wrong. I’m not at all against long CAPS FILLED angry rants from people who feel “betrayed” or whatever. It shows them(imc) they are making at least one person unhappy enough, to stop playing their game, and basically yell at them for awhile.

We just need to keep in mind, that by signing up for early access, you REALLY REALLY have to expect this. Yes report the bugs, yes even vent your frustrations on the forums telling the devs they are all worthless and should be ashamed to be living.(I have actually seen that on other game forums.)
Just take a step back, walk outside, take a deep breath. And get right back to the game because imho, so far getting to play a month early has been worth it.(no i didnt pay the 50 dollars)

But after saying all of that please fix the dungeons IMC. I’ve been patient, but PLEASE FIX the BLOODY DUNGEONS.

To add onto that, this isn’t just early access for the game, it’s early access for the OBT…

The Open Beta Test.

They are marketing as Release. They removed all evidence that it is a Open Beta. I mean, it obviously still is in Beta state. The polish and game content amount are far from a full release level. They most likely were running low on budget and decided that if they didn’t release it unfinished that they may not be able to release it at all. They want/need money to bring the game to completion. However, they aren’t being transparent about their situation, the game state, or their intentions. I think that’s the bigger issue here.

That wasn’t technically defending. I think early access is a pretty scummy practice.

Idk maybe i was defending. There is just so much anger and hate over an early access game. Just trying to remind people that this is not the finished product.

it is NOT beta anymore, this is being marketed as FULL ACCESS 1.0 which is releasing in a little over 3 weeks…

They have already done a closed alpha and 2 closed beta tests, please stop talking rrubbish

You’re right we chose to buy early access instead of waiting for when the game becomes fully F2P masses, and will be more presentable to everyone by then.

Wrong it’s OBT, nowhere have they ever called it full launch.

“are currently undergoing review by Steam. Once confirmed, we will announce the Early Access and Open Beta dates separately.”

I think they are doing a good job though, love the game and stuff. I didnt expect it to be perfect in the early access :slight_smile:

NO more character wipes

Everything thats current will go live in 3 weeks to the public as the full F2P release and we are just paying to get a headstart. This IS the full release. They may patch it a few times but if you think this is the beta then you are deluded.

NONE of those points lead to it not being a beta. It’s not rare the final Beta leads into the real game. It was stated for months to come that it was OBT.

Are you seriously arguing 3 weeks till a full release to the public and another hundred thousand players that will try the free version that this is just a trial ?

In what why is it in any way an OBT ? There is not going to be major shakeups for skill tree or stat scaling, all locations are set in stone now as is the map.

So you think because u get to play it 3 weeks early then its fine for the game to be a steaming turd ?

No, I’m saying it’s still OBT even after it’s released to the public in three weeks time. We have literally paid for early access to the OBT. The period where they get all the kinks out before finalizing the product. They were expected to release OBT as completely free to play, but instead, they did early access.

Yes. The open launch of a free to play game is open beta. Your problem with that is…? I mean, it was even advertised as such.

They went out of thier way to remove any indication the game was not in a finished state on the steam store. Since the company decided this isnt a beta the game is NOT in beta. It IS however in a bug ridden early release state.
Edit: And by early release I mean we paid for early access to an unfinished game without proper servers that they decided to call ready for full release.
If they HAD said this was a early beta access on the steam page most people would not be so angry about the state of the game.
