On EU , I’ve notice that the merc post feels quite social. I often see people chatting and chilling.
But, yeah on the whole towns do feel very restricted and only for functional use. The most social things we have in tos is world chat and waiting for dungeons together.
I think you’re not taking into account the game story. You want bright cities, except that most of those cities have been attacked, partially destroyed, and they’re in an urgency state because of monsters and the tree.
If at some point we get in an area a bit more secluded, a bit more peaceful, then yes, I’ll want it bright, with nature, giving off a “sweet, peaceful” vibe.
But Fedimian - for example - was destroyed by half or something, so yeah, I find it normal to see crumbling walls, stairs, and that it is grey-ish.
Orsha is an amazing city.
It’s beautiful, it has a great atmosphere, it’s calm, and the music is incredible. I have no idea what you’re talking about for the music, Orsha’s is one of my favourite of the whole BGM.
I’ve spent lots of time sitting in Orsha just for the music, honestly.
I also really like how it is made, how it is designated.
The first time I entered it and saw all those flying petals I went “woah”, not a lot of games give me this kind of feelings for cities.
Now Klaipeda gets old a bit fast, and it also feels empty on the north area, so I can agree with you for this one.
It feels a bit too linear, with all the NPC just lined up.
Fedimian is more the “chilling place” for people, and it’s a great city too. I really love it~ I often see people just chill, joke, and talk there.
It’s normal people choose Fedimian over the other two: you have the Mercenary Post there, also everything is closer to the Goddess Statue.

I really hate Klaipeda, and the moment I heard the music there I lost any hype I may have had for ToS living up to RO.
Then I went to Orsha, and the minimap is entirely unhelpful with all the snakes-and-ladders like the devs are punishing you for trying to find the right NPC.
Fedimian is pretty good, but it doesn’t have Vibora or the collection NPC, so it’s useless as a town hub.
