Or them playing before others.
They may be other reasons for other players so it’s not as “simple” as you’d want it to be.

Money isn’t really the issue. The three month waiting period along with the bait-and-switch is. They said nothing about an early access period then out of nowhere, their coming “soon” Open Beta is now a paid closed beta. That’s misleading and there has been no announcement explaining this. On the contrary, the deleted the announcement announcing that there was even going to be an Open Beta soon. Websites do not delete announcements very often. It is an extremely rare case and is almost always done when you want to stall for time and/or cover something up.
IMC has been dishonest and very evasive. Their communication is poor and they are capitalizing on the hype they created in order to exploit users. Let me ask you this.
If the Founder Pack did not offer a three month head start and was instead say one week, would you still buy it? Would everyone feel the same way?
How many people are buying this pack to support IMC and how many are buying it just so that they don’t have to wait months to play a game which was coming “soon”?
That’s the core issue. Bait-and-switch, lack of communication and cash grabbing. People are acting like this game is going to be released. It’s a beta. People are paying for a beta. Early access to a beta.
IMC is asking for quite a bit of money upfront to play their beta and the alternative is not very attractive at all. It’s dirty and that’s why people are upset.
Nobody’s being noble here, everyone’s selfish, that’s the way the world works.
Don’t try to white-knight this rage because it’s selfish on both ends.

yeah they wanna cover up their lies, they got everyone hype b saying open beta, then when they realised everyone is hype, they put a price on it. then deleted the ob announcment to cover up their lies.
Yes, yes I would still buy it, I want to support developers for the work they deliver.
The thing is; people who buy founder will remain with the game longer than 3 months so they will endure beta downtime / horrible sh*t happening during founder period; because it’s seen as early access.
This gives them 3 months to prepare for release and have money.
Anyway this is going to go in circles so doesn’t matter.
No way to prove this. Lots of people dump money into games they end up not playing for over a week.

And by the way, there is no release. It’s going into Open Beta, so the bugs will persist, as it is a beta. People will endure downtime and issues. It’s beta.
By locking off the beta to the majority of players, IMC is doing itself a disservice. There are ways to make money without strong arming users into paying $50.00 else they wait. There are a lot of people who want to give IMC money, but not everyone wants to just fork over $50.00 when there are so many questions and concerns.
Best solution is give game to nexon and have them ravage our wallets. Atleast I know nexon won’t listen to the community :3 p2w plz

I already suggested this, and yes, it IS the best solution. But they need to increase the TP given in the founders pack to keep the sales high.

Everyone who sees your posts on this forum knows you’re not happy with the founders model. You want an international release immediately. IMC doesn’t seem to be close to ready for that, hence the THREE MONTHS UNTIL FULL INTERNATIONAL RELEASE. Your suggestions don’t make any sense. IMC isn’t waiting for THREE MONTHS just to make people mad or force them into buying a Founder’s pack (which is worth more than the $50 paid even without the early access). They are getting ready for a true international release, and are rewarding dedicated players with an opportunity to play the game early on a stable server that they can handle.

You are clearly very smart, but if you look past your certainty that this is a cash grab on a dying (unreleased) game, maybe you can see some of the reasons why IMC is doing this? As I have said, it’s not a perfect plan. It’s not what people were expecting but try not to demonize ToS’ developer so much. I don’t think they’re as bad as you think. (If they turn out to be, then fine, I’ll see you on BDO)

Here’s the thing, there is no plan, not one the users are privy to. They pulled a bait-and-switch and did in fact try to grab cash from users by locking the Open Beta behind a $50.00 paywall effectively making it a paid Closed Beta. There’s been no communication about this plan. They simply released it and when they got heat, they deleted the post about there ever being an Open Beta.
I will most certainly demonize the developers and IMC as a whole until they relay accurate and truthful information about why they did this, why they dropped it on users without warning, why they thought they could get away with it and why we should trust them again. Not to mention more details on the game itself (which is in a playable state, if they think they can charge money to play it).
Let me summarize by saying this. I don’t care about IMC’s reasons. What ever reason they can come up with was not relayed to us. They pulled a bait-and-switch and misled users. I want to think they are not as bad as I think, but they are certainly doing a great job at reinforcing my opinion. Again, I am willing to change my mind, but IMC is going to have to really put on a show.

i didnt say that, i dont want a immediate release, sure it would be nice but i never said to release it now, im only mad bcuz of the lies they told us.
