The best solution

if you really want people to pay, heres a suggestion

restrictions or locks

everyone can play for free march 22 but you cant do any of these unless u pay $ lasts until june 19

  1. send friend requests (ppl who pay can freind u, u can still whisper to ppl)
  2. can only enter dungeons x amount of times per day
  3. can only enter pvp battle x amount of times per day
  4. send mail (notice SEND mail)
  5. u can only buy x amount of things from au per day
  6. only 1 character
7.cannot request trade (buyer can request you)
  7. can only play 8 (? changeable) hours per day, alternativley, can only play for 3 consecutive hours before being locked for 30 min (?)
  8. buyers can insta ress

this is the best solution, if you have any other solutions, then say them below.

That’s awful, even worse than the founder’s pack as it is.

Release a Founders Pack for $49.99 that allows you to play on March 22nd.

That’s awful. By the way, dungeons are already limited and trading is already a cash shop only thing (unless IMC says otherwise).

Restricting the hours played? No, this is bad.

idk y there are 2 7,s i did not do that, the forums changed it

The best solution would be that everyone who doesn’t like a company making money simply leaves.

Because we all know you’ll be back in june.

better than founders pack

this is better than founders pack, it atleast lets everyone play

Nah the Founders Pack is a better idea.

You forgot to add “for free”, ya silly freeloader! :kissing_heart:

Your solution would cause IMC to close down the game. Just saying.

How would people who don’t generate any revenue for a developer close down a game exactly?

seriously? these is the worst idea i read in all the forum

its free, ppl want to play for free, its way better than the others suggesting 10$.

and it only lasts until june 19

not this. i knew you didnt have much common sense, but dont make a thread to show it.

forgot to add that it only lasts until ju ne 19

Well you don’t know what kind of revenue they would generate. You could be missing out on tons of money. Just because people won’t drop $50.00 on a beta doesn’t mean they won’t ever spend money. If your game is good and your cash shop is fair and attractive, people will spend.

If you make everyone who won’t pay $50.00 for a beta, bait-and-switch and cash grab to go away, how small would the community be? IMC is a business. Telling potential customers to go away isn’t exactly wise. If you generalize the people who are not going to buy the Founder’s Pack then you’re costing yourself tons of potential money.

A lot of people don’t mind paying and supporting the company with more money.

This way it also limits the amount of people who can get on initially causing a much more stable lag-free and friendly environment to enjoy the game. Less people to fight over mobs is always good.

Eh maybe, the way I see it is this:

Founders pay 50 bucks, let’s say a thousand, so that’s 50K they get up front.
Then these founders maybe generate another 10K by using the shop.
So they get 60K towards june, that’s an advance they’d get for server management, uptime, hiring more employees, etc.

Now let’s say they don’t do this; they won’t have any additional starting capital whatsoever, and they’ll need to rely on the hope that ‘some people’ will buy stuff, a chance.

They know people will buy their game, so from a business standpoint you have to understand they want to make money from this.

But at the moment anyone who doesn’t want a founder server is using the following arguments:

  1. The game is unfinished
  2. This isn’t fair towards f2p users
  3. It’s buggy/laggy/exploits exist
  4. They somehow feel betrayed because of the open beta announcement
  5. Whatever I can’t think of right now

They are basically spouting out anything that will put this whole thing to a halt for the simple reason that they don’t want people playing the game before them.

You really shouldn’t feel betrayed because a company changes its mind and chooses a ‘safer’ route instead of the “maybe this will turn out like team fortress success”.

EDIT: Forgot to say that having people pay the equality of 3 months of VIP in advance is far safer than hoping those people will keep playing after 1 month / or if they’ll even sub.
