Targeting with the xbox 360 controller

Is there a good way to target which monster you want to attack with the xbox 360 controller other than just facing your character in the direction of the monster you want to attack and maybe hitting the lock target button?

I am asking this question because when you look at the controls it says that the right stick is used for changing target with the game pad but when I use my right stick it doesn’t really work.

I’m sorry if this is not in the right section of the forums, and thank you for all replies.

i can’t remember clearly, only tested an archer a few minutes, but i think you go right left on that right-stick to scroll through targets.

I tried the right stick but it doesn’t really work. When I use the right stick it switches to another target for about a half of a second and then goes back to my original target. Did that happen to you, and what do you mean “right left”?

I figured it out. I just need to stay in target lock mode and then I can toggle targets with the right stick. Thanks for your reply.
