Targeted mob farming : an aspect that is missing from this game

I’m not a beta tester but I watch A LOT of streamers.

One thing that concerns me is that every single streamer starts off > farms the same low-level mobs in the same low-level map > moves on to the same higher-level map to farm the same higher-level mobs > repeat

I can even remember the sequences from watching those streamers : Klaipeda Field > Nefritas Cliff > Tenet Garden and so on…

There seems to be no reason to go back to the low-level area once your level exceeds that area’s level.

There is not enough incentives to go to a danger area where monster’s level is much higher than yours because Monster types / Attack types / Elements play too little role in this game.

I know this game is not RO but there should be some incentives or benefits for each class/build to farm specific type of monsters in different areas.

You will only see fire mages at Sting culvert, tons of acolytes and archers at Glast Heim prison, thieves and swordmans at Payon Cave and Byalan Island.

What everyone does in TOS is farm mobs that are +/- 10 level. This makes progression so linear and reduces that feeling of exploration because you just have follow the route the game already planned for you.

I highly agree with this.

Quality post this is.

I agree there’s not enough variety for each level range… but most of us are testing very low level content. Hopefully things improve as the game progresses.

Also the main quest is too linear and doesn’t bring you to different maps to explore.

i wouldn’t worry about it too much. There’s a highly desirable crafted pair of gloves called “vubbe fighter gauntlet” which are available as early as level 15.

You can see it here:

These require Vubbe warrior blood, which is a rare drop from a specific monster on the 3rd floor of the crystal mines dungeon. Lots of people who want these gloves (basically every swordsman and archer), and are scouring the mines looking for the blood.

I’m sure when the full game is released there will be all kinds of purple items that require specific low drop rate reagents that will require more targeted monster farming.
