You post is right, except this. Cleric never has any issue early game (unless you are totally new and knows nothing)
With natural heal, cleric has 0 down time the whole game. And cleric damage is actually much better than swordman early game.

I was thinking more in terms of speed, I hear many complaints, but I have little experience with wizard or cleric classes personally. I should watch some damage cleric builds in action.
Cleric has as much problem about speed as any swordman without peltasta, they have to run to mob 1 by 1. Thing is they one shot most mob, unlike swordman
Pfsh swordies can one shot at early levels quite well. Archer takes the cake though, Hanaming achievement was just fun, and the one shotting did not stop for quiiiite a while. My QS needs more leveling.
If we stick with the current way of how grinding and boss fights work:
If IMC is willing to change the game mechanics and boss encounters:
OPâs suggestions can be an idea but I feel itâll just generate like all mage, all archer, or all swordsman groups playing at different zones due to the mob resistances.
Note: I wrote this in the wrong thread so pasted it here lol
Pretty sure that promoting swordsman for its ability to tank is a good thing. The problem is that people are lazy as hell and would rather have a swordie with swashbuckling so they can just get started on killing things, instead of letting the swordsman generate aggro with his provoke attribute.
Early means 1-50, not 1-10[quote=âMayday, post:26, topic:269974, full:trueâ]

Blame the deserted map and mobs that hit like a truck. You donât need taunt at Tenet garden
Im a Dragoon 280, Swordmans have no dps dude, a 100% buff to all Swordman tree damage skill would barely make Swordmans viable as dps, youâd still need peltasta o no party for you.
Hun-ehhhhhy, it was an example as Archer straight overkills hanamings with a level 2 skill. When I say early, I mean all the way up to the 50s. Archer is a breeze, cleric cannot compete and I have a level 30 cleric rotting as I havenât touched it since launch. Maybe it gets better after 30, but Swordsman and Archer are easier early on.
Edit: Not saying by any means Cleric is hard, imo. What class is hard before Royal Mausoleum? Swordsman certainly isnât, Archer gets a bit more tricky, and Iâm talking about the second RM.
Archer has advantage because of the high damage and range (mostly range)
Cleric has advantage because they can heal, so they never sit or eat potions
Swordman, ugh, half the damage of archer and no heal âŚ
My level 50 cleric priest is hitting for 500 damage each swing, while my swordman level 50 struggle for 100 (or 200 with skill)
You can solo really easily all the way to 200-210. Your swordsman must need some loooove⌠
After 200, this is when youâll start to have some problems, in reference to my original post.
What build and level is your Swordsman?
Lol swordman doesnât do 50% of archer damage, with some luck you may do 20% of what an archer can do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyjGkkJRkgk , quite literaly having strong Swordman skills such as cyclone or Dragontooth at 0 secs CD would still account to nothing in comparison to what an Archer can do
Stop blaming poor design on a âcommunity mindsetâ, is the first thing some of you blokes need to stop doing.
The community doesnât design the game, they only play by the rules that were set.
Donât blame the player, blame the game; have any of you ever heard this? It is, by default, a design issue if the community organizes around certain builds, and certain roles for certain builds.
Blaming âthe communityâ is literally blaming a boogeyman for the gameâs balance offenses.
Level 200 sword 3 cata 3
I donât have any problem before level 200 for sure, just a lot of down time sitting on bonfire (which is somewhat bearable)
But when pinpoint magic mob start hitting me for 1-2k, I know I cannot proceed further (I do have enough exp cards to reach level 215 though)
Magic mobsâŚ

I canât comment much on spear wielders, as Iâm a sword/dagger lover myself making my second now, S>P>Barbx2>Corsairx2>Fencer. Below 200 itâs just⌠so fun. On occasion I have had to whip out the bon fire for mana, but I think thatâs most classes. From what I have seen though you guys are speed tankers with some decent damage, no? Whatâs your goal with it? Not saying it doesnât need a buff, just saying that at this time until they do rebalance Swordsman (one can hope) that seems to be more that classes niche.
You do fine because you have that pelt circle.
It might not be very obvious, but swashbuckling speed up your level a lot, it saves you time running around to lure mob.
Corsair and fencer are also on the better side of swordman, since they have decent damage and lots of skills
Spear side is really sad if you do not take pelt. No lure, 2 skills on long cooldown, and heavily reliant on auto attack, and you should know how useful auto attack is âŚ
not really, dopel dps build is even match archer 's dps, just because itâs melee so itâs not have much advantages like range attacks.
Get -100% def is not really the way to do it, especially melee.
Actually my first build on launch was S>S>Barbx2>Corsair>Fencer. I rerolled at 185 because yep, I was feeling the Pelt burn. Not because I wasnât leveling effectively, but because I knew at 200+ I was screwed without Swash Buckling, and I should have just rerolled sooner. Plus I was planning on going x2 Fencer, and needed that Guardian. However, in a way, Iâm glad I rerolled. My build plan now I am in love with.
CC -100% def⌠That does not sound good.
Heavy damage dealers need an advantage in quick burst to take so much damage at once, and right now, other classes, again, either are even or beat us out in damage late game. Dopple is pretty kewl though, will be even better in the future I hope.
Haha when you donât really know anything about swordmans and you have your wishfull thinking at max it of course doesnât seem âthat badâ, but iâm sorry to tell you, whatever combination of swordman you are, at 280 max everything, you will never be able to do past that 20-30% of the damage of an archer in the same conditions can do.
Swordmen classes are plain trash.
