Why does Swordsman classes get the ability to sprint? What do the other classes get? If other classes do get something please tell me. If the other classes get nothing then I have some suggestions: Wizard and Cleric tree classes could have a naturally higher SP recovery. Archer tree classes could have some form of dodge where you double tap a direction to avoid damage or a portion of the damage. (Not sure if clerics should get something different than wizards).

One word. Range.
Swordsman is the only class branch that doesn’t have any range capabilities.
Sure Hoplite and Cataphract get increased range on weapons, but every other class has better abilities at dealing with longer ranged enemies.
Even if you argue that clerics dont have any range attached to them, they are the tankiest classes you can choose, so they dont necessarily need range and dont need any form of gap closer.
Swordsman seem to be favorited with the damage output, but they certainly lack range capabilities.
Almost every ranged hostile mob will walk right up to you to attack and the AoE of swordsman class’ normal attacks and skills are as far-reaching as an archer’s arrows.
The reason only swordsman class can sprint is probably due to their position at the frontline of a boss battle, they need the mobility to get out of a boss’s targeting area as quickly as possible, since in all likelihood the AoE will be targeted on their position and not on the support classes.

You forgot PvP, try to catch that mage or archer without sprint
This isn’t about removing swordman’s sprint, its about giving the other classes something so they don’t feel left out.
The only reason swordies have sprint is because they were getting kited 24/7 in PvP.
Wizards and archers are too week, if an swordsman easily gets close to him, he’s dead. The true skill it would be from the player, he would have to hit and run as fast as the chaser, that’s not easy. Swordsman got sprint because they need to be mobile and get as close as possible to deal damage.
As a Priest, right now I don’t feel being left out. I got heal and aspersion which makes me a little bit tanky.
archer can shoot while moving
mage can run around while their circles deal damage
priest never has to sit for HP
Each class has an advantage over others. Trust me, sprint is the last thing you want
clerics also get the monk, which has a VERY strong spammable skill that uses stamina called Double punch. Its insane. Not to mention the later tiers of Wizard/Priest/Archer gets some really strong skills. Swordsmen are quite strong early game for sure. Hard to say how things will end up @ Lvl 600, also Mages get the best money maker class ingame. Scouts get some OP chest loots also later on. Some classes get stuff that other classes dont, this is the whole point of having classes. Try getting lvl 200 and testing some things out. If you look at the Swordsmens skill set u can see why they are strong early game, Gungho is very strong at the begining of the game, it gives u a set amount of dmg thats MORE than any equiped weapon, but once you get lvl 160+ gungho becomes … irrelevent almost, it pales in comparison to Priest buffs and thaum buffs, which are insane btw.
When archers are shooting while moving they get slower, circle skill only works for monsters, in pvp it’s useless…but i’m not asking to remove sprint, only to add sprint like skills to other classes
Then swordsmen should get mages barrier skills, freeze skills, archers trap skills, the ability to stealth, strengthen out pets etc etc.
Classes are classes for a reason. If you want to move faster there is already a mount based class for archer. Try that.

Hmm I think we should wait for the arena to come out before we comment on “swordsman favoritism” maybe swordsman are strong in PVE and trash in PVP Though personally I think barb is overpowered in leveling coz of the “overkill” mechanic.
Well, compairing swordsman with cleric… Sure, swordsman is faster with his sprint, kills a way faster, overall it’s really nice playable. However, cleric has heal and like infinite SP (that’s how it feels like, so tons of sustain :3 ) While with swordsman I need to use potions from time to time to kill bosses, with cleric it takes like 4x so long but I never run out of HP or SP. Overall got more party invites playing with cleric than with swordsman, dont know if thats coincidence, but it def. helps on leveling (for shy ppl like me who won’t create their own party :v ).
As a cataphract. People seldom invite me in parties
clerics have a hard time leveling because of low damage unless they use the 1h sword+dagg weapons. but they have lotsa sp and heals I really love partying with those people:heart_eyes:
Not sure if it’s favouritism but if every other class had a sprint, that would be funny.
if we’re using pvp as the judge then i’d be worried about handing sprints over to mages and archers.
