Summoned pets AI is beyong being bad

Well…this is how it works atm, at least for necro.
you summon them, and they attack everything in range when you stop walking.

BIG issues are:

  • if they start to hit a creep, they wont stop until one of them dies! not even if you run out of range
  • summong arent attacking if they chase a creep out of your monitor vision.
  • if they killed a creep, they will not move back to you until you move further away from them.
  • pet-hp-bars are showed randomly…

how to fix…

  • if there are no creeps in range the summons shall return to their summoner
  • and if they run out of range they shall return to the their summoner. (even if they are currently chasing a creep)

I am a sorcererC1/necro. And I agree with the derpy AI the summon has. Specially shoggoth, he just chase monsters around and attack them relentlessly until he killed his target. After that he would just hold his ground until I come close enough for him to follow me.
It would be nice if the AI of shoggoth is the same with sorcerer’s summon.

I also think that the AI of sorcerer’s summon is okay as it is. Because sorcerer C2 would lose its purpose. The only problem is that whenever I stop near a monster, the summon always attack in the same way he is facing, and not on the monster/s that are near me.

Summoned units also needs to be teleported to the player after teleportation just like companions (Teleport in the same area after a quest. I am quite okay with losing them when going to a different map tho). It is pretty annoying to summon a new one every now and then or go back where you left them to fetch them.

It would also be nice to not make your own summon not target-able. It’s quite hard to lock on target with your summon being the closest target.

A longer tether range for shoggoth too would be nice too, since he is a melee. but not too long. lol

I don’t know about other summoned units or companions tho.

Also skeletons need to be way tankier…they are in FULL PAPER MODE.

a skeleton has ~2600 HP and almost no defense.
if a mob uses 1 AoE, your skeleton are instantly dead…

People being out farmed by a summoned pet AI is beyond being bad at playing the game.

I agree it’d be nice if they had some magical god like dev to make pet AI amazing. Other than whoever was in charge of the current ones.

would be nice to have some sort of behavior option

  • Attack Everything
  • Attack only what attacks me
  • Do nothing
  • Die for me you worthless meat shield

Attack everything is the default it seems. I personally think that some of this are in sorc’s c2 skill. “Attack Ground” and “Hold”, not literally, but you get the idea. I guess haha

Does anyone know a shortcut for summoning/unsummoning hunter pets? Mine gets stuck all the time in the lvl. 50 dungeon. Apparently, the rat won’t follow me unless there’s a target within its range… that happens on every room, and I’m tired of opening and closing the pet window.

There is none, unless there’s an addon that does that?
