Hi there,
As a consumer, here are some ideas on what I will spend money on, and what discourages me from investing into this game.
-
Opportunities for community events. Imagine if there is an item that will temporarily increase monster spawn 10x in a given map. How about an item that lets me spew silver out of my character for a minute, and the amount generated is based on the amount of “likes” I gathered. You can even control for this by making my likes decrease by 50% after every item usage. Costumes are nice, but it is kinda pointless to have costumes in an MMO when there is no one there to see it.

The feelings of “owning” something. When I pay for something, I don’t like the idea that I am borrowing it. I want to feel like that it is mine for ever and I can do what I want with it. When there are too many restrictions, (i.e. untradable) it actively discourages me from investing any money into your game. In the past, the restrictions were designed to discourage botting/gold selling. I will like to point out that these measures has limited decorations on gold sellers, and instead had a significant negative impact on your player population. I am thankful that you have reduced these restrictions, but I suggest that you continue reevaluated the necessity and relevancy of these limitations.

Quality Assurance. In the past, what encouraged me to spend money in an online game heavily depends on how the GM handles the community. If I feel like the GM is going out of the way to protect the player’s interest, then I am more comfortable with giving you my money. If there is a reputation that players are stone-walled when they have a problem, then I am much more hesitant in investing. The fear is, what if something goes wrong with my character, how will you address it?
Thank you for your time.
