[SUGGESTION] HUNTER: Intense Rebalancing

I’d played Hunter class for a while and I admit, for me it was one of the most fun and unique class to play. But in my time of playing I do see some great potential for the class if it was gonna be tweaked to fully maximize it’s UTILITY function as it is supposed to be. With that I’m going to put up some suggestions of what I thought a true hunter class should be.

Here’s what is on my mind for the skill set

Coursing

  • Make Coursing & Snatching into one skill
  • Coursing will only stun Small to Medium size monsters, while Large type mobs (including Bosses) will be Slowed for a few seconds.
  • Flying mobs will be brought down to the ground.
  • Coursing will only deal a single hit damage. (Yes removing the DOT here but wait)
  • Add a new attribute “Rabies” which will inflict BLEEDING to mobs.
  • AOE attack ratio +3 (Yes please AOE just like Snatching and coz its a utility class)

Snatching [REMOVE]

  • Too many skills for Hunter class, thought of making things efficient by combining this to Coursing

Praise

  • Rework Praise. Praise will Grant your companion a “Pain barrier” buff to itself and damage dealt to your companion will be reduced (in %, suggest to 50% damage reduction for maxed out skill level, so the pet won’t lose HP so easily)
  • Add new Attribute “High Spirited”, Heals % of Companions max HP. (Some sort like that as long as it will keep your pet longer in battle)
  • Retain the Attribute Praise: Movement Speed

Pointing[REMOVE]

  • Not really helpful skill IMO

Rush Dog

  • I love this skill. Good as it is :slight_smile:

Hounding

  • Retain
  • Add new Attribute “Bite”, Companion will automatically use RETRIEVE skill to targets found by Hounding.
  • Add new attribute “Rumble”, Decrease movement speed of enemies nearby your companion while in Hounding state

Retrieve

  • Retain
  • Will now also affect Flying targets

Growling

  • Retain function
  • Add new attribute “Provoke”, Companion will now provoke far away mobs while in the state of growling. (Really helpful for gathering the enemies in the area. Really great CC potential here)

It already does, did I miss something?

Having a skill in the archer tree take both on a cleric skill and a swordsman skill like that would be impossible under IMC’s eyes. That would be way, way, way, too good. I think something more realistic would be have its defense increase with an attribute while growling.

I think Hunter3 should have something similar to Falconer’s Pre-Emptive Strike: the pet will auto-use Rush dog (or a new AOE skill) on enemies attacking you. Or if they want to keep Hunter a “green class”, at least try to push its crowd control potential up a bit, Growling alone is not enough and the AOE is too small.

I love the idea of Pain barrier and Provoke for pet, very brilliant.
Its not like they will collect our ideas (they only listen to players in kToS :frowning: ) but still, its nice to read these kinds of post once in a while.

Like how IMC killed frost pillar, I am sure growling will be killed (as a CC skill).

Hunter3 at circle 5 and usage of companion really takes a lot of potential build. You could missed out on qs3, sapper2-3, appraiser, rogue, fletcher3 and definitely you have no compatibility with sr and hacka. Even if you can fit in hunter3 in your build, managing a companion in battle is quite a challenge.

I’m a hunter3>falconer3 and imho hunter3 perform not far off vs sapper and qs3. I’m expecting auto dog rush then I would satisfy with hunter3.

Yes, it does close some options, I do not see the problem with that, I also know first hand that it has many issues, mostly with path finding and its lack of auto correction when it breaks.

It’s fun indeed that’s why I’m staying with hunter3 :smiley:

Unless they rewrite the whole companion system, I would say hunter3 keeping growling and some buff is justified with the class limitation and challenges.

Or make it phantom companion where it’s not affected by surrounding :thinking:

All updates comes from KTOS dont waste your effort on skills…

Class attribute for Hunter circle 3
Can summon one more companion.

New skill
Medic - companion come to aid a nearby ally with medicine. Heal small amount of HP in %.
Attribute: SP healing - has % chance to heal SP instead of HP.

And yesh! auto rush dog, auto medic.
