Hello Tree of Savior people, a huge Dievdirbys fan here.

I desired to make a simple, fun and colorful image for this contest.

Hello, S1lv3rw0lf here. I decided this topic was a bit small so i’m gonna put a step by step for this work.

I usually check my own work progress after its done, so let’s check it together.

We start with the concept art, for this contest i had 4 ideas:

  • Dievdirbys (i love that class, have i said that already?)
  • Newbee tip
  • Boss Fight!
  • Goddess and Demons

Yup, concept art is super ugly, but its enough to make an idea

I choose Dievdirbys because simple, fun and won’t take that long to make.
My concept art was based on the carve statue animation:

I was aiming for something a fun, so lets just go crazy with it. Taking lots of curves and movement.

After that we start the lineart

We got 3 elements on the image and each on it’s own layer.

ToS has a very interesting color palette and i tried to apply most of it to the log.

After giving the log a bit of life, because it was really dull. Let’s proceed to color the character. She’s really fun to color, brown and red are on my top of favourite colors.

Erm lets not forget popolion over there

Oh and grass, just so the characters aren’t floating on the void.

Now, for the background i decided to make a very ToS loading screen background, with the simple gradient background and the dark borders. With a simple pattern behind
