Stun, Freeze, etc. wastes my skill?

Greetings,

I’m having a hard time understanding why my skill goes on cooldown when I get stunned, frozen, knocked back, etc. yet does not get cast.

Example: I try to cast Zombify, to raise my zombies on the enemy I’m fighting, but get frozen mid-cast. The skill goes on cooldown for FIFTY seconds but does not get used.

Is this working as intended? It seems like an atrocious way to have crowd control and skill usage function. Casters are severely punished by this.

Not just casters, everyone is. It’s game design.

Some classes though that rely on skills with very long cooldown do suffer more but I guess that’s IMC concept of balance. :smiley:

Rapid-repeat CCs like freezing ice shards from the PP + Ice Wall combo is a pain to deal with since oftentimes right when you’re out of the frozen status and try to use a skill, you immediately get hit mid-animation and frozen again causing that skill to still go on CD without being actually used.

If I were to suggest an improvement, make skills only go on CD right after the casting animation or as soon as the skill is casted/released. I’m not sure though if that specific change is doable at all on IMC’s end.

I agree 100% and hopefully somebody who can implement your idea is around to see this and/or has experienced the annoyance this causes.

I’m ALL FOR crowd control abilities. I mean I used to play a rogue in WoW and stunlock people for days. However, if a group focus fired me, I would be toast. Using the skill’s cooldown, while not actually using the skill is just stupid, to me.
