Story quests not involving party members

Considering the Rank 8 update, there are certain quests that are nearly impossible if not painfully possible to complete. Is there any possibility of bringing in party members when doing these quests? The best example is the Powerful Being quest in Tevhrin Stalactite Cave Section 5.

You mean this?

Pretty much that. Seeing that you have it, I’ll see what can be done to get it working. Probably have to remake party or something.

Turns out I needed majority of the party members to abandon their quests for it to work.

Happened to me too, where when we did it wigged out and then wouldn’t take us both in. Then it finally did but only counted for one of us and we had to do it a 2nd time anyway.

Same thing happened with this bitch in Tenet Chapel too, on that note. :expressionless:

At least we’re there. Although I’m the dummy running with a group of 2.

There are 3 things that can happen that prevents other party members from joining you during a quest cutscene:

  1. Party member is attacking something. Tell your party members to not attack something for at least ~3 seconds before entering the cutscene. Party member taking damage does not seem to be a problem, but they won’t get teleported when they fight back.

  2. Party member is in a dialog with a npc. If both you and your party member talk to npc at same time, there’s a high chance you’ll go into separate cutscenes. Tell your party member to talk to the npc only after you’ve finished talking (or vice-versa).

  3. Requirements not met. Aside from the obvious level limitation to do the quest, make sure you turn in all quests and stop talking to npc before taking new quests so both you and party member aren’t talking to npc at same time (and fall into restriction 2). This happens a lot on npcs that first need you to turn in previous quest and the very same npc has a new quest that throws you into a cutscene. Tell your party member to just turn in the quest, stop talking to npc and not start the next quest, then start the next quest yourself (or vice-versa).

Another limitation that I’m not 100% sure about, but seems to happen in very few specific quests, is that your party member won’t go into custcene with you if they’re too far away (and they’ll get a random “requirements not met” error).

The quest for killing Gesti in Tenet Chapel falls into restriction 3 (and 2 because they’re both intertwined).

You need to turn in previous quest to start the next one (cutscene to kill Gesti), but once you turn in previous quest the npc will already give you the next one and once it starts your party member won’t have requirements to join cutscene with you because he won’t have turned in his quest yet. Either that or he’ll also be talking to npc and fall into restriction 2.

Again, solution to this is just turn in, not take next quest, and wait for your party member to turn in and take next quest.
