Hi there, Im currently a QS3/A2 and im almost convinced to go for scout musket, oriented to pvp. Im aware of the problem of auto swap weapons, and i know it has been disscused before on other topics, but i want to ask you again, How serious is the problem? I mean, you can tolerate or its so intense (the lag) that ruin your gameplay experience. Please, tell me your opinions. Thanks for answer
It is pretty intolerable.
But if you empty out your inventory as much as possible, the lag is less noticeable.
what does swapping have to do with your inventory?
When you weapon swap, the game searches for your weapon to swap to in your inventory.
The less items in your inventory, the less lag you have. My guess is because it can find it much faster, but there seems to be some horrible coding involved for this somewhere.
Either way, try it out.
This make sense, but as you said itās terrible the way this feature is implemented.
at this point, this stupid feature/mechanic shouldnāt be surprising anymore.
Does the same problem happens with cannoneer? (sub weapons) Or only for mainhand?
i did this before, already cleaned my inventory.
i did not notice any significant difference.
i tried using a different computer which uses an SSD. Almost the same other specs as mine, except he uses intel and geforce. i use amd and amd radeon. my specs are not inferior to his in fact online comparisons would suggest its almost the same.
But the change is drastic tbh. the weapon swap lag is barely there tbh.idk why.
il reply to my post to post his specs to mine. I might be wrong with the āalmost the same specsā
EDIT:
Mine:
AMD FXā¢-6100 six core processor 3.30 GHz
AMD 7850 HD 2GB IceQ
16GB RAM
HDD storage
My friends:
Intel Core i5-6500 3.2 GHz Quad-Core
GeForce GTX 950 2GB
8GB RAM
120GB SSD RAM + 1TB HDD RAM
I played my character on both computers using my same internet connection.
Went on a mission on both computers. The āLAGā on my pc is noticeable.
While I am playing on his PC, the lag is barely there, i could say there is a millisecond freeze/lag but really tolerable and barely noticeable.
With this i assume that SSD might be good. Or i have a crappy videocard?
Idk. i have yet to update this tower of mine and see if the SSD will fix it(as per recomendation by a lot of people)
Note: on his SSD only his OS and drivers are installed. maybe that made a huge difference. idk. Still waiting for my SSD in the mail
i made an A1>QS1>Sapper2>Wugu2>Musket.
I usually use my bow most of the time and swap to musket for skills (mainly for killing those flying mobs without using poison) and the lag for me is tolerable. Though i read somewhere its better to just put your weapon in the quick slot but i think its more of a hassle so auto swap is still the way to go.
I can get rid of using the bow since sapper and wugu skills can be used using any weapon but most of the muskets available in game are terrible.
OH it is a big issue, pretty imposible to play
The weapon swap lag gets a loooooot worse the more mobs/players there are around and the longer youāve been on the same map. Once you switch channel or relog, the lag āresetsā so I donāt know if the hardware is making any difference here.
I have an i7-4790K 4.0 Ghz, 8GB RAM, GTX970 x2 and an SSD as well, but I still get intolerable freezes (from a very minimal 0.1s to about 0.5s before I give up) after about 30 minutes of grinding in say, Alemeth Forest. 0.5s might not seem that bad but donāt forget you freeze twice in a very short span of time. Once when you swap to your musket to fire your skill, and another freeze when you swap back to your bow.
If you grind over an hour in high density maps like Evac, youāll probably start getting 1s freezes and apparently they can get worse too. Iāve seen videos of freezes up to 2 seconds per weapon switch.
Iāve abandoned my Musketeer because of this and am now going SR2 which has no weapon swap needed for its skills (assuming youre using a pistol, of course).
Devs really need to look into this, itās been around since CBT and itās astounding how they havenāt already fixed it.
i went to evac to test things out, played 1 hour with party mates on using both pcs.
I can safely say that hardware does affect the lag issue but DOES NOT REMOVE IT.
IT JUST MINIMIZE IT.
For a better spec pc like yours you still have LAG issues as well huh. My own hardware, i freeze up like that video shown on this post.
And I also abandoned my Musketeer because of this. I was never able to enjoy party grinding because i just had to use my musket for AA and skills so that i wont be lagging. I just went on and did monster achievements until the monster levels are too damn high for me to solo.
Yea, I donāt think I lag as much as the video shown in the post, but then again, Ive never tried grinding for hours in a single map on my Musk. Once the lag hits 0.5s or so, Iāve always relogged.
Iāve also tried reducing my inventory load, but didnāt seem to help. I think what happens is that people go back to town, store their items, go back into the map and think āoh hey, the lagās goneā, but the problem recurs after 30 mins to 1 hour again.
Oh, and to test this out, youād have to actually do some mob grinding before the lag kicks in. Itās not the same as afking in some corner of Alemeth Forest for >30 mins and coming back thinking thereās no lag.
I see guys, thank for sharing your experience. Please, some dev take a look at this. Many players have stopped to play their musk/cannon due to this.
