IMC,
Can you please unlock L1 + R2 and R1 + L2 as hotkeys for skills on gamepad? Using a 2nd set of keys is very difficult in the field, and having 8 extra hotkeys will be even more necessary when rank 10 hits.

Why not R1/R2/L1/L2 +
?
I would imagine it would be harder to code and would also interfere with existing commands (R1+R2 is sit, L1+L2 is used for mount/dismount)
L1+R2 and R1+L2 are unused in the current gamepad schema
and reconfigurable too, i want to change weapon swap button to somewhere else. Pushing the stick is just too awkward
How about the cross thing on the controller we could put some skills there too or weapon switch ect.
(I dont know the name for that “+” thing in eng sorry ^^)
Yeah that is a possibility, I only use analog for movement in this game. The Cross fits for some games movement but not this one.
EDIT: For skill hotkeys it would not make sense to use the cross since you would be forced to stop moving or do some jiu-jitsu with your right hand.
Still better to switch with r2+l2 an stuck there because of low fps ^^
I worked around the option of not having more controller options by buying an Xbox One Elite Controller in combination with xpadder, a 3rd party program.
I am not seeing how this would help with the primary objective of this thread, unless you had some kind of macro assigned to a button that swapped your hotkey set, used the skill, and then swapped back to set 1.
No I mean R1 +
(up/right/down/left) for exemple, exactly like the system we have. I didn’t say R1+R2 or L1+L2.
edit :
I mean this.
I see.
Would be tough to use since you would have to stop moving. If that was there I would reserve it for buffs and such instead of active skills.
I would, at first, like the ability to configure the settings of the controller buttons ingame, similarly to how you can configure the buttons on the keyboard in keyboard mode.
There are a lot of buttons on the controller which are configured to cover options that are not really used in controller mode often/at all[e.g. the backspace quest-teleport option via extra button].
Those could be used to increase the actual number of buttons per configuration by 2-4 (or more),
providing at least 4-8 additional slots for skill usage.
The way skills are done via gamepad would require IMC to enable more hotkey ‘sets’ in order to expand skill usage, so while customization would be nice I think the priority should lie with adding more sets, and then work on customization.
The current controller laying is passable, albeit has some frustrations like weapon swap being on L3
The question is,though, if having more sets to go through would actually be efficient.
I already have a problem with going through two sets and still be efficient (simply because buff and item durations are too short) using skills.
Having more buttons would allow me to trigger more skills or items without the requirement to switch through the skill quickslot bars while allowing to see the CD of them without having to use the CD tracker addon.
Maybe they could change the weapon swap from L3 to L1+R1 and the target lock function to L2+R2 and add the skill quickslot change to L3 and a new one to R3 so we can actually swap through the skills faster.
To be clear, i mean adding more hotkeys to the current sets, not adding a set 3. Look at my OP for my suggestion.
Then why not just L3 + button 1/2/3/4 and R3 + button 1/2/3/4?
That would still be more efficient than making some crazy crossovers like L1+R2 or L2+R1.
Try moving around while holding L3…
The buttons on the analog sticks, at least with every controller I used, are a huge pain in the ass and I would prefer to have nothing hotkeyed to it, let alone important skills.
Ill ask you: Considering we already have L1 + R1, what is wrong with L1 + R2? Or R1 + L2?
EDIT: Another reason to not use R3 would be due to target lock. You want to use a skill on the mob you are locked on to, you hold R3 and slightly move to the left or right, BAM your target changes and you cast on a different mob.
maybe they could enable one of the analog sticks or the Dpad to be reconfigurable as buttons(can probably be done by editing the xml files), at least thats what i do when i use a 3rd party remapper
imo i would just drop native controller support since using a 3rd party to map your controller is superior in almost every way lol.
