People say put red on pistol but why not the other way around. You get much more phys atk with red on xbox and more crit rate with green on pistol? Or is it something I have misunderstood?
SR damages comes from pistol, so putting red gems on pistol is better (wich is different from BM since BM’s Double Gun Stance adds gun stats to main weapon pretty much).
Using Level 8 Gems:
Green Crossbow: 69 x 3 = 207 CRATE
Red Pistol: 235 x 3 = 705 PATK
Red Crossbow: 390 x 3 / 2 = 585 PATK
Green Pistol: 75 x 3 = 225 CRATE
You get substantially more PATK for a relatively low trade off of CRATE, +120 PATK -18 CRATE.
Maybe you confused the Maximum Attack and Physical Attack stats?
why is red crossbow divided by 2?
because it gives Max Atk only. So the average pAtk you get is about half of it, although it is not exactly correct with current relationship between attack and defense stats.
