Sorry, but i think im done with ToS already

Have fun talt farming if u able to get in there

ha, I thought the same thing. Hunting all the cards I needed for my build was exhausting, this game is a cakewalk compared to RO.

@svalinn85 you have a valid point as well, although in RO, it depends really on what you are trying to hunt. Some monsters/minibosses/bosses has a lengthy spawn rate. Some of them are also impossible to do alone.

For example, to kill nidhoggr for his shadow garb, you(and your party) needs to do a really tedious and lengthy quest to be able to enter the dungeon to reach nidhoggr. On top of that, that monster is really hard to kill, so you’ll need a very organized party to kill it. You can only enter that dungeon once every 3 days, so if you even die and fail once, you have to wait again for 3 days until you get to try again. All of that for a “good” item that has a drop rate of 20%.

There’s no comparison. Vanilla RO (Not any private server stuff) is 1000x harder than this. Try killing any MVP without farming 100s of hours of gear, and spending 100s of hours leveling your character.

Drop rates on gear and items are 10x worse on RO as well.

yeah, and we had to pay for game time. It’s like a subscription.

Though the grammar and yadda yadda yadda. Good feedback man. Couldn’t agree more about some of these points.

I personally think 5% for a drop is high and is what makes that item valuable but the 3dun/d thing blows.

This game does really make you have to hit some kind of currency wall at every inch.

Later.

20 char./////

The biggest issue right now is the dungeons are prime exp, and have limited entries. Naturally it’s hard to pick to farm a low level dungeon for items when you fall behind in progression in the race against bots.

It’s a lot easier for farm mobs near your level for 0.01 % drop (I’ve done it for Viper bow) than to do low level limited dungeons that will make you fall behind.

I dont agree, but my fun is probably different than yours.

edit this isnt directed to you technic. my response to OP. hit wrong reply button.

Not seeing the problem here. The characters are separate, so why should one benefit the other? Sure it would be nice, but it is in no way required and there are plenty of successful games that don’t have this feature.

Awww, poor baby. You mean your actions actually have consequences rather than the game just giving you infinite free do-overs making class progression meaningless? How awful! How could they even think of designing a game where your choices mean something!

Now I know you’ve never played an MMO before, if you think a few bots and hackers are a big enough reason to quit. Every MMO has those so if they make you quit the game then you’ll never play an MMO. The devs do what they can to fight them but every time they make a new weapon to kill bots the bots make new armor (So to speak). It’s an ongoing never-ending battle. So far nothing has been ruined by cheaters. Mildly inconvenienced by them maybe, but ruined? Lol.

To the best of my knowledge those are not even a thing that exists. Maybe I missed an update somewhere.

The only thing we agree on is that the price of tokens is expensive.

haha, game is pretty fun and im having a lot of fun. I havent had so much fun with an MMO in many years, recent years decent games are more on MOBA style and very little MMOrpgs are as fun as TOS.

If you didnt have fun, TOS is not your thing so is ragnarok.

In my opinion, TOS has already surpassed RO in some ways and would be even better with more development. Its barely two weeks into the game’s release, consider the current state is providing us with a lot of fun already.

Optimizing and changes will take more time, if you cant stick around long enough in a game then i dont think u can see the best of it yet.

Nice to pick that out. I wouldnt play a game where there isnt merit in doing the right choice. If everyone who ■■■■■ up can keep redoing then who cares about having the best build? Theres no merit in playing properly if everything can have do-overs. I do my own research for a long time to think carefully which job in each circle i have to choose, to best suit my own interest and what i thinks is the best, and if im right im stronger than other people who didnt think much about their build.

If ppl who ■■■■■ up can re-do and copy my build then tsk, no point playing everyone will just be equal with all the same builds in the end that is crap. Builds variance are what makes this game most interesting IMO. If someone makes a bad choice for class, thats because he hasnt done his research enough and planning. This game is not for simpletons --> direct to thread starter

i agree. i am having great fun in the game and IMC is improving and listening. latest announcement about trade restrictions made this clear.
But don’t be mistaken: this game is not for everyone. and reviews will get even worse when f2p arrives. but it is nothing to worry about. people who enjoy this will stay for a long time. like they did in RO. If RO was released today it would have gotten bad reviews, as well.
It is not always about pleasing the masses. Sometimes it is better to cater to a smaller but very dedicated group.

@Hinalle haha wow spot on in everything.

0.01% gear & card drop is one of the things that made hunting fun in RO.
This is a reward for people’s hard work. Some people do get lucky but most people work really hard to get these 0.01% which when they get it, the satisfaction is high and you can be proud of it. In terms of such aspect, i feel that TOS has it as well, so well done TOS. Low % drops are the stuff that differentiate players.

I think he’s talking about arde dagger. I didnt get it for hunting but i earned enough to buy it, i dont see a problem.

Also, about classes, researching, watching videos, planning ahead, enough said. This game isnt for lazy people to play. This is a highly IQ utilizing game.

Not sure why everyone is justifying this game’s design flaw in 2016 with an old ass game like Ragnarok.

Yeah RO was an awesome game in 2000 but things have changed now. People have a better understanding of how games should work.

If you guys really love this game you guys should advocate for positive change with constructive feedback instead of writing off people who complain about this game.

You can be dedicated all you guys want but if there’s not enough people playing then this game will not last like all the other dead mmorpg.

The feedback and the changes we make now can make the difference between a good game that last 1-2 years or a game that last 5+ years.

I dont see these as flaws. Except bots/RMTers but thats a flaw that has infected this entire genre with no pub/dev doing a great job, I believe the pubs and devs of all this genre would have to fight it together; but they dont, cause you know, competition and shiz.

#1 though could be an improvement of quality of life for alts on the same account.

edit must have hit the up key, sorry big text.

And honestly just as they have said they will allow 1:1 trading without tokens. Theyll ease up when one of the 2 extremes happen.

  1. Bots/RMTs COMPLETLEY take over, which they have not yet despite all this screaming I see on the forum. (again, it’s a possibility it may happen but it has not yet).

  2. They somehow combat bots and restrict/remove them enough that they are confident in the economy and their systems.

TBH, in regards to picking circles, it’s actually not a bad design. Heaven forbid you do research before you make your characters. Also, if you could change it, people would be able to start as an early game build to power though and then switch to late game build, which would make the whole experience of progression pointless. Best example is wiz 3. It’s one of the most irritating classes to reach, but its late game potential is insane.

I really hope, that the devs of ToS dont listen to much to such Fast-food-mmo-players like the OP seems to be. I really enjoying the hard progress and the devs already stated, that they work on a better trading-system

Don’t see anything wrong about it. I can get in full exp run groups fine.

I knew myself it was by the people who worked on ragnarok online, and thats the main reason I played myself, I am also tired of theme park mmo’s their endgame sucks, cuz once you finish the newest raid there is literally never anything else to do in a theme-park/wow style mmorpg.

I do think they need to put the game back to its base spawn rate, which is most small mobs have 15-30s repop timers after they are killed last, and stuff like vubbe fighters repop 60s after the last time it got killed, not this 5 minute+crap we have now. If you look for “tree of savior new spawn rates suck” you’ll see what the games orignal spawn rate is (the video is set to play at 2x speed) then it shows the old spawn rate where it was 2 mins for a repop, they recently halfed this, so the video at 2x speed, shows the spawn rate we have in game right now. Which is still horrendiously slow for how low drop rates are on some items. Vubbe fighter blood a low level item on Orsha server is up to 750k because of the 5 min repop+its low as hell drop chance. That blood is worth more than some of the really good level 170 weapons and such.

Usualyl when people boss rush they are above the level of the dungeon and therefor gain no exp or anything of value from it other than a chance of the nice item at the end. Would you wanna sit thru a 30 min dungeon if you were getting 0 exp the entire time? on the lv 90 dungeon I think the exp drops a ton at 105, and by 110 or so iirc you get 0 exp from everything in there, save for maybe the boss. Besides who really runs the 90 dungeon for exp? its not that good anyway.
