i don’t know exactly because i didnt play linker and don’t like it … but i think linker got a hit count on his links ( example: 4 hit count = you can only hit 4 times then it goes away ) or something
that sucks so bad, damn it i really want the warlock stuff but then i realized about the curse stat from feather foot which complements temple shooter (the only viable summon as far as i know) or have they made other summon good too?
with the upcoming patch for all pet classes … i think and many other too that the new meta card for sorc will be necroventer and / or rexipher because of Lethargy ( with attribute ) from the wizard circle …
this is confusing af. if it is true that the pet class is getting a huge buff, why should i bother with feather foot and not go the necromancer route?
you can go necro … BUT necro skeletons get “knockbacked” every time in boss fights … sadly
basically now we can go in any route we want, but if we want our sorc to be amazing the TK Magnus build is the way currently?
i mean think about skeleton archer for example. it won’t get knocked back and it also benefits from SPR.
if we go the Wiz>pyro2>thauma>sorc2>necro2 and at rank 9 we go necro basically a build that complements each other in stat no?
spr increases the damage of ALL pets right? not just sorc pet?
-
We can go any route … yep better prepare for the upcoming change … that means you don’t need to go for any op build when you don’t like it
-
nope because skeleton archers go to you ( because of shit AI ) too always … and the boss will hit you … that means the archer get “knockbacked” too
-
and yes spr increases ALL pet dmg not only sorc
the braindead AI problem is still here then
yeah i hope they fix this anytime soon
I’m stuck with my new sorc bc I don’t know what class to pic as my rank 8 , thinking about sage enchant or rc but none has a good synergy with sorcerer …
1 necro is good too shoggoth + pike for decoy or sage if u dont like necro
What is your build so far? You can incorporate any of those classes with Sorc as long as your build leading up for it provides some kind of synergy.
ENCHANTER
Out of the three classes you listed so far, Enchanter sounds like it will be the worst choice. Enchanter’s only skill that’s worth using in combat is enchant lightning, and though it scales with SPR, it is a poor choice for a sorc because of two main reasons:
-
Sorc, and most wizards in general, don’t have fast multi-hitting skills to make good use of additional damage lines
-
Buffs don’t apply to your Devil summon
That being said, enchanter can be an alternative support class if you don’t like the other options. It does have synergy with pyro (enchant fire and enchant lightning boost each other) and cryo (cryo’s attribute makes frozen enemies take 50% more lightning damage, including dmg from enchant lightning).
Problem is, even though the additional damage is good in the beginning, as you and your party gets more and more geared, the support you’re offering is not as noticeable (adding 4k damage to all of your party’s hits is not really as significant when everyone is hitting 300k+ and only need a couple hits to kill each monster). Still, if you party with multi hitters (think chaplain, SR, QS, doppel, cryokino), there’s no denying the additional damage adds up.
RUNE CASTER
Rune caster’s damaging skills desperately need a buff. Even with quick cast attribute and surespell, it is extremely annoying to have to channel the skills for so long for mediocre damage in a meta that has so many fast and hard-hitting DPS’ers. They also have ridiculously long cooldowns.
The only good build for RC in my eyes needs to include Cryomancer and Psychokino. Thankfully, you only need 1 circle into cryo because the damage from ice wall + PP is based on your m.atk, not skill %. I haven’t played psychokino, but from what I can tell you’re going to want Psychokino3 because it’s an “all-in” type of class.
Cryo-Psychokino3-Sorc2-RC looks to be a pretty decent build because you have heavy burst potential with psychokino+cryo+RC, and after the buff to summons, your summons will appreciate all the CC from psychokino+cryo. It will also allow you to more easily hit your riding skills.
Rune caster’s rune of giants also makes you faster than chrono3’s haste, so there’s that…
Unless it was recently patched, I believe that you can also use rune of giant and walk into the rune while riding to make yourself big while riding. It doesn’t really do much in terms of damage, but it’s funny to see and makes you more “tanky.”
But all in all, RC is also a “one-skill class” like enchanter. You could take away all the skills except rune of ice and the class will basically be the same.
SAGE
First, I want to say sage is almost a one-skill class too. Its main appeal is missile hole (which is still very useful, even after rebalance), but sage’s other skills are not as underwhelming as RC and Enchanter’s other skills.
Sage’s damaging skills hit pretty hard (think stronger versions of evocation), but they have ridiculously long CD’s. At least micro dimension has 3 overheat, and ultimate dimension has some AoE.
AFAIK, micro dimension can duplicate:
Ice Wall, Frost Pillar, Fireball, Warlock Invocation (though this was prebalance, it might have been patched over), Fireball, Sorc Bats (no damage, but they help in TBL for making you hard to target), Inquisitor bird thingies (actually hit pretty hard), Dievdirby Owl statues (do only 1 damage though).
Portal is a convenient utility skill to have, but maps with a dungeon (or maps that count as dungeons) on it cannot be saved.
Blink can be used during solo play as a pseudo frost pillar to gather mobs in one place before you use summon riding skills (or other aoe).
Because different builds have different playstyle focuses. A summon oriented build would obviously work out best with necromancer, but if you enjoy playing with something other than just Templeshooter and necro summons, a different build would be a better fit.
Summons also have obvious flaws, and not everyone wants to put all their eggs in one basket.
If you’re looking for “the best sorc build,” I can tell you that there is none. There are builds that excel at doing certain things, but I’ve never seen a sorc build that beats other builds at everything.
I know it’s not a very good summon, but what do you guys think of Harpeia?
Due to wide attack number range, I wasn’t sure sure, but I think it is strike, lightning attack.
Now cryo has this attribute + cryo freeze speciality 50% damage with lighning on frozen energy, lethargy 50% strike + linker JP lightning 50%.
Would that potentially be good after the coming patch?
Btw, do we have a list of summon attack type and elements?
seems like sage still the best choice then, this will be my 2nd sage… my current build is cryo3sorc3
I actually believe summoned devils don’t have element properties on their attacks. At least I’ve never noticed any element modifiers with any of my summon skills.
I strongly suggest going Necro1 instead of Sage at that point because you’re basically a cryochronosage supporter without the chrono part.
Although the cryo circles will be good support for all parties, chronosages are pretty popular and they’ll be able to provide missile hole already so your main reason for taking sage ends up being thrown to waste.
Even without using TempleShooter, at least Decay can support parties because a lot of other classes use missile skills too. It’s up to you though.
You’re aware the ktos patch has Harpeia with
a
495% SFR auto attack…that is strike type and as such multiplied by Lethargy that every wizard build has
Compared to TempleShooters’s 217% *2 (434%) multiplied by decay (Featherfoot/Necro specifically)
Harpeia will be a good card in the future.
Downside is Lethargy has an 18s cd while Decay has basically no cooldown and can be spread to way more monsters. Strike type boss card will definitely win in bossing though.
