Sorcerer Info Megathread

Honestly, after testing the summon changes, I can say that summons deal way more damage than conventional skills. Cryo3 Sorc3 I had little trouble soloing instance dungeons in 30-40 minutes with crap gears. I’ve tried so many times using conventional int builds with other wiz classes, but have yet to achieve a similar painless result. If you die in dungeon and lose your buffs, your damage is reduced SIGNIFICANTLY, to the point where it’s not worth continuing unless you’re just that geared. Full SPR with temple shooter buffs literally did not matter. I could die any number of times and the damage would not suffer. Hitting like 30-40ks in total damage with Temp’s S skill and 40-50ks in total with its F skill at Lv 170 on instance dungeon mobs is just too good of damage. Keep in mind this is a 4 star card, with Lv 10 summoning no attributes.

I’m not really talking about ktest, I was answering sagevoor’s question about iTOS’s current Sorc.

Things are subject to change in ktest and it will be some time before we get those changes, so I didn’t really consider telling him/her to plan her build for that far in the future.

That being said, I’m unsure of what to do when the patch comes in terms of skill points. If salamion is worth heavily investing points into, then it will mean summon familiar/evocation/desmodus will need to get point downgrades.

I got a lvl 10 TS, when doing morp + skill do I need to have 10 stars on both TS?

Really happy about these changes.

But as always there’s room for improvement. (Not super needed, the current changes are definitely enough for me but doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want a bit more.)

I still want some elevation for the sorcerer c3 skills or a special attribute to really validate the option of a c3 sorcerer over c2.

I also really really want some synergy with sage or enchanter or even both them. Now the best option for a sorcerer would be to choose the necro path and while that’s amazing I really want to see a path thats just as complementary to the class and would feel great to pick.

If I get these I’d be super happy really.

(New summons are always welcome too. :innocent:)

They definitely need to change riding attribute back to the way it was before rebalance. The current version is too weak because it has low scaling (% of summon damage multiplied instead of adding % of your magic damage) and only activates if we are actively riding. Really disappointed that if you stay mounted on your Summon, you do weaker DPS than if you only hop on to use skills and hop back off, and a lot of summons have to stand still to cast their skills, which makes it easier to miss and more dangerous to use if you take a lot of damage.

They need to do something to incentivize staying on your summon, like back before rebalance riding was a way you could tank damage because you had combined defenses with your summon.

Also, what the heck is up with the other sorc skills being bad still? Summon Familiar’s attribute should be changed to a higher chance of splash damage, Summon Servant needs an upgrade to make it worth it to cast, and the Sorc C3 skills have never been good, ever.

Yeah I can’t really disagree with anything you said. I’m just happy summons as a whole get attention they deserve.

I do really hope that they follow up sorcerer with class specific changes. What you mentioned would be a great way of doing that.

I also hope they somehow address the scaling of other skills to perhaps utilize spirit for sorcerer. There really shouldn’t be an issue of losing damage from the other skills in the class for making that decision, with other classes suffering from that I’m fine with. (Except other summon classes like necro and bokor.)

As an extra I hope they give some attention to cat buffs. I hope it would be automatic cast for all the buffs, even with the attribute it’s too slow to use for dungeon purposes where everyone is constantly moving. The buffs also should be a bit updated, with all these updates it falls a bit flat in my opinion. (Doesn’t need to be anything overly strong but at least something that gives a clear impact.)

I think the R9 class will be pro Sorcerer.
Kinda like Hoplite C3 has a filler before Dragoon
and Cata C3 has a filler before Lancer.
That or it’ll scream Combine Sorc with Necro.

Happened to of seen someone with Spr build on KTest using Bone Pointing? Really curious to see if they upped that too.

I agree that sorc c3 is not worth taking atm sadly :sob:

Necro c1 is already enough to spread Decay debuff, you only want featherfoot for sustain, bone pointing could help but it is not necessary and it isn’t effective tool for decay

Hello, i came back to ToS wanting to make a sorcerer again, i heard a lot of the skills has been changed like quick cast and everything. i would really love to be shown the way to make a good sorcerer class.

i really want a sorc 3 or at least sorc 2. i hope it won’t be so ■■■■ that it’s unplayable. i want to have fun and all i care about is PvE. would really appreciate the help, i completely lost on the new changes.

thinking of a fun wiz>pyro3>sorc3>warlock build.

what is thauma doing there? also can we not fit in warlock? i mean there’s this attribute that increases dark damage in sorc ;"(

you can get warlock c2 at the end when you dont like feather :slight_smile: and thaum gives you 400 matk for only a filler circle with swell left arm and with his skill attribute … :+1:

oh so that is why we go the thauma route :frowning: i see, what about linker? what happens to linker since i’m gone?
