Some thoughts regarding the aggro system

Today I finally decided to actually start grinding with my ex-Peltasta Hoplite. This is pretty much the first time I used Swash Buckling for real. “My god this is a godsend!” was my initial impression. I mean, it draws in every single mob on the screen and beyond for peanuts cost.
That impression quickly turned sour when I realized that it doesn’t pull the mobs that aggro’d on people at all. Which is fine, I understand.
What I don’t understand though, is why it does not aggro the mobs that’s simply chasing the other players. I’m grinding in Narvas Curved Path of Cobalt Forest, it’s a small area with a lot of mobs. When there’s nobody around, it’s golden time for me and everything is great. The other time though, people run by collect their quest item. They don’t hit the mob, simply aggro’d them by running by, and my Swash Buckling does HECK ALL on those mobs.
This is partly alleviated by having multiple channel and thus thin out the traffic of people running by. But Cobalt Forest has one single channel.
Call me whiny, but this is annoying. I personally think a Provoke move should aggro according to an aggro meter, not “whether someone else aggro’d the mob or not”.

Because it’s possible to be abused by others.

Example scenario, I’m a just a random cleric trying to grind with my Zaibas skill (AOE). I lure mobs around so I can AOE them together, while luring a random Peltasta cast Swash-buckling to grab all the mobs I lured.

Sounds fair? No? Then how it is currently is fine. It’s annoying but you have no other choice but to deal with it.

I think you misunderstood me. What I meant is that they should make Swash Buckling

  1. Aggro the mobs that is only aggro’d from seeing other players
  2. Doesn’t aggro mobs that was attacked by other players
Because failing to aggro a bunch of mobs because some guy walked by is ridiculous.
If some guy decide that he wants to tear the mobs off my Swash Buckling, let him be my guess and attack the mobs.

The current aggro system is dumb. I use a level 15 Cartar Stroke, fully charged on a monster, and it just walks off to attack my pet. Every single time.

What’s up with that? I stopped using my pet because even though I have level 10 in the aggro attribute Swordsmen get, my pet always out aggros me.
