Solution To The Class Reset Problem? :->

Hey guys, I’ve seen a lot of these threads about how we should be allowed to reset our classes or shouldn’t be allowed to. If it has to be that black and white, I ABSOLUTELY think it should not be allowed. But DOES it need to be that black and white?

What I would suggest is not an entire reset, but the ability to trade out a single circle. This would come in two ways. Once per character from the cash shop, for a large amount of TP, in addition to a large amount of in game silver to the appropriate master. I’m actually thinking this would cost about 1m silver, but would give you back any silver spent on attributes specific to that circle.

The other way would be via an extremely rare non-tradable boss drop, and would have a 1 month cooldown. Same master conditions apply. If you had more than one circle into a class, like c3 swordsman, this would let you reduce that to c2. Obviously you couldn’t remove c1 swordsman and keep C2 and C3.

This would remove most of the worries that people have about class resetting, while still allowing people to fix small mistakes. Over a very long period of time, people could even remove big mistakes, if they’re willing to put in the time and effort. But completely redoing your entire class setup would take so much time that most people would probably just opt to restart if they wanted to redo everything.

What do you guys think? Just an idea

The first has been suggested already. It’s not a bad idea in my opinion.

The second one sounds pretty unique but I doubt IMC would go for it, they could make way too much money off this if they ever decided to do it.

Also I’m gonna ready the water for the torches, I suggest grabbing an Aias for the pitchforks… These topics get touchy. x3

Dafuq? More black and white than what you just put there i doubt will have.

I can see an exploit there, imagine R5+ classes being reset and earning back lots of these learnt attributes, and depending on what class one get after, the cost will be less (Trading Sorc for Wiz or Pyro for example).[quote=“AnitaCafe, post:2, topic:300240”]

The only reasonable part so far lol.

Not this thread again.

Ah you seem to have taken something out of context there, by mistake I assume. I clearly said “if, ect, I believe this.” Then proceeded to question if “ect” was the only way by providing an alternative. You seemed to have skipped a pretty important part of that equasion for the sake of sounding witty.

Also, what you described would not be considered an exploit, I believe that would be what is commonly known as a refund. Getting a refund and then purchasing something less expensive instead, does not exploit anything.

A. Only after a patch so harsh that it would cause players of that class to take up arms.

B. Only the class(es) in your build directly effected by said patch.

C. Only if people stop with this topic. Nvm, that’ll never happen.

You’re much more laid back in your suggestion than some others ala’ “reset now or gaem is dead. IMC sukz” That is appreciated.

You’re right about this topic not going away, at least not easily. That was the purpose of this thread. If a compromise was reached it would probably be the best chance for people on both sides to stop talking about it. So I’m not really sure why the reaction to my simple suggestion seems to be “oh god more of this”. That’s how I feel too, which is why I think this would be the best way to put a stop to it.

there’s no point in bringing back this topic IMC has already state that circle reset it’s unlikely to happen plus most of the players that wanted circle reset are gone by now

That is exactly what i am saying, it is an exploit, and will become even worse if this kind of thing is allowed more than one time.

In all honesty, you guys are going on and on with this class reset because of the actual state of the game, which is not completed yet, need lots of balancing, and i mean every single class.

IF after all the major balancing, there is a necessity if a class reset, then we can discuss with more calm.

But as of now, i don’t see a necessity for it.

Ummm, didn’t you already quote me saying that I was against a full class reset? For the record, even if any kind of reset was put into the game, I would not use it. At least not right now. I am currently happy with all my choices so far, and have done a lot of research before doing anything. So I’m not really sure what group of people you’re trying to lump me into.

You also seem to have absolutely no idea what a game exploit is, which is kind of weird for an active forum user throwing the term around, am I right?

With how the OP handles the situation with his flame replies too… I’m up for a flame war in this thread like any other circle reset thread discussion.

*Grabs a pitchfork

I just had some time to kill and wanted to help some people with a viable solution to an apparent problem…

I’ve miscalculated haven’t I?

You say no but drop what you don’t like in the table, ask for comments, and then act like everyone is out to get you. I am only commenting what was already commented lots and lots of times, since the first iCBT if memory don’t fail me.

I don’t know what exploit is? Sure if you say so, i mean, who don’t want some extra cash every month to buy something they need? How about i go on a shop, buy a microwave, use it for a couple of days and return it to get something else?

By the way, all the TP packs, and any kind of packs you buy for ToS (not sure other games, be it packs or DLCs) don’t allow refund, it is very explicit.

I will leave your thread, don’t worry too much about my comments, as i said before, i am debating something like anyone else.

I don’t actually care about that part of the idea, it was just something I wrote on a whim. It isn’t really important to the core idea. I also haven’t been an extremely active reader on these forums, so I have not personally seen this idea before. I just thought it was strange that you picked that very small part of my post to begrudge the entire idea by saying that it was an “exploit”. The circle reset would have a 1 month cooldown, which is not to say that it would be free every month. Getting the attribute silver back would cost you a mill, which means every time you did this you would be losing a mill no matter what, and never actually gaining anything. Example: spend 3m on attributes, get an extremely rare boss drop, reset that circle for 1m, get 3m back. You’ve lost something and gained nothing, so I fail to see how this could be called an exploit.

But more importantly, I don’t care about that one little detail. If its that big of a deal ill erase it from the OP lol.

The problem is, a circle reset introduces even more problems into the mix than a full class reset. It is also a lot harder to code for than just a full reset which resets everything besides items/gear/achievements.

  1. Reset Templar circle? What happened to guild? What happened to guild players? Guild Storage?

  2. Can you keep Chaplain while reset Priest3 to 2?

  3. What about class costumes?

It would be hard for sure. Maybe it wouldn’t be worth it idk, I’m not a programmer. Definitely shouldn’t be a top priority with all of the current issues. But if they just said “It will happen some day” it would shut up a lot of people for a long time.

But to say “too technically hard, cant happen” seems a bit absurd. I would like to give game developers more credit than that. They can pull double shifts too just like anybody else. I’ve built an entire functioning RPG world inside of ps4 minecraft, complete with dungeons, trading shops, minigames, ect, using only in game mechanics. It was very technically difficult and time consuming, but when you have a passion for your game anything is possible, as corny as that sounds.

i doubt so…bugs will prob start to show up the moment they patch and implement the reset XD… followed by exploits
