I still have to sit and rest from time to time, cleric doesn’t have to do that. And believe it or not, cleric out damage half of the swordman classes, sans the obvious highlander - barbarian.

[/quote]We are in a 3 weeks old game with a couple of videos showing Barbarian big damage, I hardly call it meta, more like bandwagon.
Honestly don’t understand why people are comparing the two however.
The cleric class is supposed to be a healing support, not a monster DPS.
If someone took cleric and then they are whining that they aren’t able to do the job, well its probably because you are trying to force the wrong class, to do the job of another intended class.
Funny enough, i sometimes run across these clerics that are whining that i pulled the mobs away from their Zaiba with my Hangman knot.
I’m like dawg, you are here to heal…do your job.
People are also complaining why swordman class can face-tank mobs better than other classes.
In my instant dungeon run, I prefer 1 tanker (me), 1 melee DPS that can sub-tank (highlander-barbarian shines here), 1 dedicated healer, 1 sub-healer (cleric that goes the krivis path) and 1 mage that can unleash massive AoE
I made many runs, and the run that replace the AoE mage with a swordman last almost 2x longer.
Everyone has their job to do, and although I admit the game has some balance issues, it’s really not swordman vs mage issue.

then try other class. so you can decide what you really want. people these days want the best all the time. the thing is you got a good damage with an AA bro. HP running out? call the clerics. not good in damaging mobs? call a better one who can do that. just look for a decent party. and yep you can AA while in air. i spamm spacebar while i hold my left button in my mouse. im full str and guess what. i think jumping help. cuz i dodge a lot. sorry for my bad english. not my main language tho.
Because no class can dish out as much damage per second.
We all already know that because of long cooldowns, sp costs, how stats scale linearly and how damage bonus is calculated, hitting more times is better than hitting strong, unless you hit REAL strong.
There are nothing much right now that can compete with auto-attack dps, since it costs nothing, only some buffs at worst and you have close to no down time.
That said, you’re right, “meta” was not the right word to use, because the meta would not be the build, but the dps centric playstyle.
How do you know no classes can deal that much DPS? Did you test them all out? Do you have videos? I really love to see some videos, it’s hard to find anything due to the game short life time.
Also a DPS class is supposed to deal out a lot of dps, that’s a given, this is not a solo grinding game, and as I said above, even steparu has a video of full CON cleric raping everyone in PvP
magic seems to be anyones weakness really, spr does very little and since all other classes have a way smaller health pool it looks like you are dropping at the same speed
Try using Ice Pike when every boss AoE can one shot you before you can even finish the animation and casually walk out. >_> OR, God forbid, Snow Rolling. Insta-death Sentence.
