So IMC why do you keep fixing minor things and none of the big issues?

Hmmm, I’ve noticed that a lot people don’t seem to realise that it’s been two weeks since early access started. Some things can’t be fixed overnight.

We’ve had a bunch of fixes for the issues that are easy to address, but (a) some issues require a lot more work and (b) some issues are simple to fix in theory but could have enormous ramfiications on the game world/game economy, and so must be discussed thoroughly with various teams before any kind of action is taken.

You can’t raise the drop rate of an important item (for example) and not expect the economy to flip overnight, which may affect silver acquisition, which trickles into people’s ability to buy attributes, upgrade gear, travel, etc. etc. altering the very nature of progression in the game.

There can be all sorts of knock-on effects of any one decision, and unlike you IMC is in this for the long haul. If it’s going to damage the game years down the line they need to predict this and steer away from it. Unlike you and me they can’t just throw up their hands when they get bored and walk away.

It’s convenient to forget the 4-5+ months from CBT huh? Did they fix some things? Sure. But for some very useful trivial suggestions (ability to toggle chat swear word filter?), do you honestly think that would take 4-5 months?

If you ask beta testers I’m sure there are many who would tell you that there are still quite a few bugs brought up in the betas that are still floating around. So no, it’s not just 2 weeks.

Yeah, I won’t deny they could have done more, but I have very, very strong suspicions that it’s all due to funding. You’ve probably noticed how they’ve been more responsive since we’ve started paying for early access compared to during the beta.

You know the old saying: quality, speed, cost – pick two.

Not really 4-5 months. The game didn’t stop being run, it went live in Korea literally the month ICBT2 finished. So they’ve been dealing with post-launch pretty much the whole time (and were still making improvements).
If anything the Itos release might have slowed down their development.

Except I am not racist, its just annoying on Orsha server seeing all the spam all the time thats all. if I could xfer my chars and what I have to Klei I probally would do it. Its a bigger server too isin’t it? I don’t hate anyone, I just dislike all the spam they generate on server chat thats all. I never got a warning for that post or anything either. The forum mods are probally just tired of the issue being brought up is all. I think imam drop it since nothing is going to be done about the spamming they do in portuguses, I’ll just have to get used to it or keep all chat closed since thats all you see in it on Orsha server.

Not to be an a-hole, but dealing with people who don’t understand that this is an International server so they have the right to speak whatever language they want to is like dealing with a self center donkey. Beside it’s not like they are talking about you, geez, get over yourself and just ignore it.

“All the spam” You guys that complain about that are so spoiled lol
I play in orsha too and I play in Brazilian “peak” hours and barely see 1 shout every 30 min fin portugues. Wtf man, its just some letters in the chat, if u cant stand it go back to offline games

Edir: And like the guy above said, its an international serve without any rule agains speaking another languages, so all these topics have no reson at all

Biggest problems for you is team storage potential loss and brazilians?

First, you as many of other don’t even understand what potential FEATURE is.
Second, brazilian spammers are disliked, but american spammers are not better or french ones, so you are just caring for your own racism.
Third, every other country try to learn english and other languages while you just think knowing yours is fine, stop being self conceited, this game is hosted on NA but announced as international and Brazil has the biggest piece of players

Next thread he’ll be saying “Why isnt IMC cleaning my ass?”

Biggest piece no, most annoying in server shout? yes. Also I found this in another thread, but it fits this one pretty well.

  1. Brazilian isn’t a race, it’s a nationality.

  2. BRs have earned their reputation and then some. I have played too
many games where any global chat is spammed with Portuguese followed by
HUEHUEHUE, while they hack, bot, ruin the economy, and generally make a
complete mess of whatever game they are a part of. This is not just my
anecdote either. Stereotypes exist for a reason, and there are
thousands of stories and mountains of evidence all over the internet to
showcase exactly why they have the reputation that they do.

  3. Are all BRs bad people? No. However, that’s how the human race
works. Instinct drives us to make generalizations based on past
experience, so that our brain works more efficiently, instead of
separately and individually processing every single detail of every
encounter. The world lives and dies by labels, and no amount of SJW is
    going to change that.

Hope who posted this doesn’t mind i put it here, but it fits so well.

30% of all players are brazilians if its not biggest you should research a little… maybe not cause you like to be naive and dumb just to get some attention

Maybe so, but I still find they are the most annoying types of players, the ones who spam shout/server chat I mean, i’ve partied with lots of BRs and they were cool people, its just the idiots who are brazilian that spam chat and such that has given their entire demographics such a bad rep. Actually anyone who spams chat is annoying, but its twice as annoying when its gibberish your unable to understand flooding the screen, for me and for many others regardless of what language the gibberish was.

Bascally if you guys wanna stop getting crap from people, get yer crap together and learn how to behave in a mmorpg, especally one thats not in your native language server wise. That goes for anyone, there are lots of native english speakers I can’t stand either so I ain’t just singling out the BRs they just are the most noticable because they never shut up and never stop doing it in every single game they play.

I play on the Orsha server, and most of the time its: ihgqroph gqriohgqpghqigh qgrigwign weibg wiog bwpe from BRs mostly all day every day. Maybe its just the server I am on, If I had a way to xfer my stuff to Klei I probally would do it, I hear the issue there is very minor compared to Orsha server.

Does it bother anyone how racist our community is? its about the 5th or 7th post by dcandrews7. Bascally groups of people don’t get a rep for nothing, if they have a bad rep they have most likely done something to gain that rep.

You still think all of your problems are brazilians fault if it’s not racism call it xenophobism, don’t you think botters are NA? don’t you think NA players don’t know how to hack? well actually some american players already developed programs to show enemy HP numbers, exp bar number and other, it’s not used for evil, still a kind of hack, poor guy.

Also global chat already had messages in Spanish, Korean and French, probably others that i couldn’t identify.

The solution for you, disable global chat

Its based and translated in english speaking locations. Sure they are NOW moving servers elsewhere and getting translations but using the international server excuse to allow spam in shout is ridiculous.

This is why in the previous beta people complained about BRs so much they needed to get a containment server.

Sadly we have to deal with it now since IMC wont IP block the region after they get their own servers down there. At the same time there are some good BRs out there who also HATE the ones I am talking about. Which I assume to be every single BR that defends them in these threads.

When the f2p starts you will see way more shouts in portuguese .

Believe me you are mad because you don’t understand what the shout is saying.

Because spam we see in any language. the difference is that we at least understand when you say in portuguese, english or spanish…

Where does it say Brazilians can’t play with people from other countries and well as their own?

There is no assumption of just because it’s in English doesn’t mean they have to speak it, it’s in English because English is one of most used language in the world, making it international and there’s no where else that says “you can’t speak X language here” and if they did that rule then they should just call it British Server because not everyone in the US speaks English and there’s no one official language in the US.

I’d hate to appear racist. I just thought id share a story of where and when I first met my first gamers from Brazil. I use to play Heroes of Newerth, a dota clone, and I’d play on and off. the first time I ran into a BR was in the low tiers of match making when trying to show my cousin the game. Now typically in a MoBA you’d get your share of noobs or trolls, especially when not in premades or higher match ratings. It’s the expected. But never before had I met a population that was so proud to represent themselves through their language or in their name tags. I mean I played games all my life and I’d never once see a person with a China tag or Mexico tag or Canada tag in their name, though I’m sure I played with people from those nations as well. The stereotype for BR started there and carried on with me as well as one of a negative and immature group of people.

That being said, I played Archeage and I got along great with a lot of Brazilians there. I respected their language in their chats and their brotherly comrodery they had with one another and this particular group was eager to make friends with me and my group. Had this been my first interaction with BRs my general stereotype might be different.

To add some of the girls are awfully cute too. The ones that like games that are cutesy at least, which hey we’re playing ToS after all. How could anyone hate on that. I think the OP has a valid point. No matter how much our morale gut tells us otherwise, it may have a sliver of racism or sound like so. But it’s just proper ettique. If people spoke Spanish, Chinese, (I’m Hispanic and Chinese), Italian, Armenian, etc in front of me while we were in a group setting it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Albeit some people don’t intend this to be the effect, Some languages you simply can’t express certain things and it’s much more fluid and the connotations in a language like Korean exist where in English is much more dry. Regardless, those conversations probably are best kept elsewhere, not in a global chat.

English is the primary language for everything in the USA. Also proper etiquette suggest English is obviously the main language in this location.

Pardonnez-moi, mon Seigneur.
