haha I know what you’re talking about e.e
The actual game is facing lots of issues, the main ones are:
1- Optimization: Both Server and Client side.
2- Exploits/hacks fixes.
3- Capable and communicative staff.
##Optimization
#Client
The game itself is a mess, leak of memory in some systems, random FPS drop, stuttering while trying to draw objects.
Those unfortunately will be plaguing us for a long time.
#Server
The server have lag due to junk codding being transmitted from and to the client and also causing more instability AKA channel crashes.
That is the reason they decreased the number of channels, to alleviate the stress (so much for our stress test in the 2nd iCBT) in the server and decrease the crashes.
##Exploits and Hacks
I can’t tell for sure about the hacks, but the exploits, at least most of them, would had been fixed if they simple limited the normal accounts from using chat commands (Ex: the infamous /pmp). That way, only administrative accounts can use such commands.
IF the hacks used today use the same principle, that would have a huge impact on them.
##Capable and Communicative Staff
This part is pretty important too, at least to alleviate the raging in these very forums.
The staff behind the patching for our version lack in transparency, they apply patches blindly while trying to fix one thing, and end up breaking 3 or more things in the process.
At the forums, I am sure the staff is put under tight leash, we had a good staff member last year and she was very communicative, but she was removed after, the reason many speculate but i won’t pry into it, and please, no names, everyone who knew her know who I am referring to.
The actual forum staff only answer, generally, bot/rmt reports, and with a copy and past answer.
They also answer emergencial posts, like the channels crash reports, but only the more concise ones.
The rest of the stuff going on, specially the Cash Shop, can be done fast, but also they need to do some research beforehand instead of change it to something as pathetic as it is as of now.
The reason i say that is, I haven’t expend a single $ in ToS since the Founders Pack (the first one), because I simple see that it is not worth my money.
But if they change it to a good way, then I would be buying TP at least 1 time per month. Also the TP pricing in Steam is ridiculous, but unfortunately, international monetization is a pain in the ass.
Yeah I really agree with you, but we’re only making things worse, the game isn’t in production anymore, they need to fix everything on the run, that makes everything more complicated…
So I think that we need to get ourselves together and do something as a community. just to give the game some “BOOST”.
maybe you should just enjoy tos while you can. I don’t see it shutting down anytime soon, but I also don’t see it getting better. once you get past your enjoyment, then it’s time to move on. played the game since cbt2, this game was really once lively, full of players. even though there were alot things wrong, still alot of them stuck around. but once you play a game so long seeing no signs of improvement at all, you start to question if it’s still worth investing your time with it.
I created a guild, we weren’t competitive, we didn’t join wars, gvg, I made the guild exclusively for socialization. 'twas fun sharing stories and tips. but as time passed on, you see less of them being online. and it’s really sad seeing them become inactive one by one.
I was hyped for the game saw myself playing for a couple of years, but was really disappointed on the outcome. it’s great that your positive and all, but bringing in more players won’t solve the problem. it has an outstanding amount of issues. bringing in new players will just generate more negative steam reviews.
The game is in production, there are still missing stuff to be put in, the max Lv is supposed to be 500 or 600. Not to count the higher level contents like dungeons.
We do, well, aside from the negative part that is the biggest one, I myself do present the game as incomplete and lacking, but i do tell new players to try the game themselves first before decide something.
In the end, who will know if the game is fun or not is who is trying it.
Well at least you’re encouraging new players to try the game xD
thanks for that =)
Unfortunately you are completely right.
Even with player restrictions clearly favoring Token users in every aspect of the game (P2W), unbalanced classes, and many issues, Graphics Optimization is by far the worst thing in Tree of Savior.
On my popolion PC (basic a toaster), I can run Dead Space 2 without problems, Granado Espada was ok, others 3D games was more or less ok too, but when comes to Tree of Savior, I cry. The game Consumes too much memory ram, cache, and still will find problem to process new animations when people active skills.
If they could make a more really bad graphics, but that consumes less memory and processing, it could resolve, since just by making low epics on configuration already help a little.
But the Graphics are the core of the game, one of more expensive things to do a game, I dont think it will change any soon.
I dont care about play with sticks, as long as I can see what is happening.

Jokes Aside, something on this graphics really consume power process of the computer, and need to be changed, be the sincronization among players, be the level of textures, type of textures, cache of area already loaded, I dont know
WOW do it really consumes your computer’s resources?
with me it’s the opposite, It doesn’t use my processor, ram and video-card properly.
The game can’t use more than 20% of my cpu, not more than 25% of available memory, not more than 50% of video memory. and still really bad performance I wish it could use more of my computer.
Sure it’s good when a game doesn’t put your computer in it’s knees, however it’s clear that it could use a bit more(?in my case).
I’d rather say that the game doesn’t use the resources effectively.
For example, back before the optimization patch the game was stuttering insanely, while my PC was just chillin’. My computer is not even high end =p.
Now the game is running smoother, with the price of more memory consumption.
Yes exactly, that is what happens.
however even with the optimization patch my computer is still “chillin” and stuttering (with a little less frequency, nearly unnoticeable).
Is that so? From my experience I say otherwise.
TOS now is consuming a fair amount of memory, not all of it of course. The game had a decrease of around 60~70% of the stuttering for me, of course I experience a fair amount of stuttering when loading my character directly into the middle of 70~80 players.
Those random stutterings that happened in empty zones are no longer existent for me.
maybe my stuttering wasn’t has bad as yours from the beginning, so you notice a bigger improvement. but yet I still feel it bothering me.
They happen anytime anywhere with random frequency and go crazy when they start, giving me headache and a warning to stop playing for the day.
My stuttering pre-optimization was so hard that I avoided joining overcrowded maps at any cost, post-optimization I’m having 20~30 FPS on fedimian ch1, which normally has around 60 to 70 players/shops.
Recently I got in the middle of 10-man open GvG in Istora Ruins (ET map), my FPS obviously dropped harshly to 5~15 but the absense (or the occasional amount) of stuttering made it bearable…and very fun
.
Well at least in terms of optimization things are slowly getting better, I hope they keep trying new things e.e
I’m a saddist and I love masochists. Good to see some players still have so much faith in tos. Well you are not the first one to suggest things like getting voice heard or improve the game through player’s power. In fact, these have been suggested and attempted all this time but…these people eventually found that they hold no power to change the situation especially when IMC is constantly breaking the game while the players are trying to patch the issues themselves. IMC always managed make people like you quit faster than other normal players. I understand your point to help imc bring in new players…but I have to tell you, this isnt going to work. It is simply impossible to promote the game when imc is constantly messing up and make players quit. When players quit, they have bad impression on the game and when people asked if tos is good? They are gonna say no because thats the truth. Even if you try to forcefully promote this game through lies, all you get is just losing your credibility.
One huge flaw of this game lies in the fact that it isnt designed for multiplayer, or I should say its like a modified single player game so that players can somehow connect together. The game has improved alot in this aspect but the most stupid features existed until now. The trade count, the trade restriction and buff counts. The one suggested all these counts should be shot. The game has fps issues but thats only when multiplayers involved. Unbalanced classes make pvp so much…interesting. I’m not even going to get into the endless bugs, bots and exploits topic which doesnt seem to be getting solved anytime soon.
"the game isn’t in production anymore"
You dont fix the game only when it is not in production. Another good example of bad management. They tried…I believe they tried to fix the game but they are not capable of doing it (They cant be siting idly all this time right?).
It is sad to see players get so hyped and get equivalent disappointment in return to the extent that some even quit the game. I know you want to make the game great again but what you are doing right now isnt playing the game anymore. I call that ‘salvaging’ a game through forming a superficial happy community. As others said, the game wont die even if population drops. IMC is the one deciding they are capable to continue. Just enjoy your game normally.
U want IMC to listen? Stop supporting them with your money period.
We don’t need to lie, the game has a lot of flaws but just like I said earlier the “Core game” is actually good. It’s easy to players who give a shot to the game at least spend 10 or 15 hours actually enjoying themselves.
by core u mean the fashion show? even medal is char bind, not account shareable
et? fake as fluffy when class balance is a dream and eq is just pay-to-lv10transcend
gvg ? huehuehue~
tbl? cleric all the way~
worldboss? camping n dominate all the boss-timer~
we dont even have storyline boss like lichking
roleplay merchant-class? item crafting dpk is lel , potion making is bot driven, repair-enchant is price war
quest? 99 collect this, kill that
dungeon? 1-click-yey or prime-time-only-playable
have i missed anything?
infact, i think the core is how to defend/whiteknighting tos on forum.
even forum lel error 502
‘-’ Well I’m not a White Knight but I really enjoyed my first hours on the game.
I only found out about the issues later.
Same experience here lol…
