They are not bots, they have basically just put a weight on their attack key. I wouldn’t bother reporting this to be honest since I see a lot of people using this everyday.

There needs to be some game mechanic preventing this kind of behavior.

Yup if this inst prevented there will be no game…
Because every one will do it and ToS will be about how long your computer can stay on…in other words a bot game without purporse.

There’s no way for certain to tell if the person is there or not. I’ve done this in that spot where I was just holding down the z key and watching a movie. Good stuff.

You realise that your behavior may end the game if not prevented right??

I’ve never actually left my keyboard while attacking. I’ve always been here physically holding down the key. Problem?

Im tired of arguing about this and how this “bot” may fck the game…so do as you wish…IMC ill probably put some mechanism to stop this…

Well I hope they go away soon, I rather have annoying talking people than mindless air hitting zombies.

The problem is that there is no easy solution to deal with this. Simply making it so that the button has to be pressed each attack might stop some users, but that is easily avoidable by using some kind of auto clicker.

A game guard or similar might stop most 3rd party programs that are used for botting, but they are never a complete protection.

I think we can all agree that something is needed though. Anything is better than nothing.

Even if they do(which I’m ok with). I’ll still be there controlling the character. So it’ll only really stop the afk players not people who are actually there.

I don’t really mind the people who grinds, tbh I look up to them, since most of them look for chats while doing their grinding, its the afk botters that I don’t like having

Isn’t this more of a mentality problem? People grinding by only holding a key or putting a weight on it for grinding obviously have no intention of really participating in the game itself.

I prefer a more party / challanging aproach to the game. If a cannot find anyone to party with (wich is surprisingly hard because it is so darn easy to find party members even in this closed beta state of the game) i’ll rather go hunt monsters that will not go down with one simple attack.

The easiest way though might be getting rid of the autoloot system wich is yet another big topic itself as it speeds up the gameplay enormously.

are these guys bots… that answer is completely opinionated.

  1. humans since the dawn of time has always wanted to make things easier if they can. when you see these guys automate features so their goals are obtained with little effort themselves, they are just achieving that goal.

  2. they could possibly be doing the battery/rock/something stuck between keys… <------------these ppl are lighting fires rubbing two sticks together. still achieving the fire they want.

  3. they are using a program to repeat key presses. i would name the countless programs out there, but i feel i would probably find myself banned. now these ppl only use the programs because at 1 point in their life, they were people from number 2… they have evolved into using lighters to start fires. still achieving their goal.

  4. there are anti hack programs out there. lots of them… hackguard, xfire gameguard a lot of other ones that are embedded into individual games. these programs are widely noneffective. the ppl that want to create bots still create them… the ppl that want to set up macros still set them up. usually they stop the minority of ppl that cant come up with their own work-around.

  5. keyboards almost standard come with side keys for you to create your own input… do you want it to repeat every 10 seconds? every 1/2 second… do you want it to just press the key then another key? do you want it to hold down a key and press 1234455678 throw in a tab to change monster focus. whatever it is. whatever you need. And mouses almost standardly come with at least a key or 2 you can modify as well.

  6. so out of 1-5 are they all botters? what is botting? if they are sitting at their computer just holding their finger on a for 2 hours while they watch game of thrones… are they botting? not even paying attention to the game? if they create a macro from their keyboard to hold down that a, so they can eat their sloppy joe. botting? what if while they eat it, they are sitting there, watching their monitor.

The fix is simple. Make bosses spawn randomly around the map. Anyone who wants to hold Z to only kill mobs can do so, but won’t be getting boss loot every 30-60 seconds.

Suggestion could be mobs can spawn on random locations on a certain grid and not always on one spot.
Another suggestions is a certain mechanic from a game I tried before (forgot the name), when you grind or farm for long hours in an area it starts punishing your capability to get loots/exp and you have to move away from that map/area for certain period to reset it.

why did they even think spawning a boss at an exact same spot every 10 seconds is ok??
easy solution: shoot a laser beam from the orbit that insta kill everyone around the boss every 30 seconds…

“The problem is that there is no easy solution to deal with this.”

Make spawns in random locations? Problem solved.

No it’s not, random spawn locations doesn’t really change anything. For example, archers can auto attack anything withing a large radius due to auto targeting.

And remaking every single place in the game where mobs spawns on a fixed location is not an “easy solution”, as it would require a lot of work to accomplish. Moreover some places pretty much need fixed spawn locations (or at least very small).

Also, a lot of mobs are aggressive, meaning they will walk towards the player anyway.

and we got more cry babies

As what the other thread suggested, a Captcha pop-up every 30mins-1hr will do for me.
The captcha will pop-up every 30mins-1hr and will stay there for 5 minutes or something, then you need to type and submit the captcha codes to prove that you are present. After 5 minutes passed and you didn’t submit the code you’ll be disconnected from game and will throw you out on the Server Selection, Lodge or maybe completely close the game itself.
