So.. am I bad or is Hunter just complete garbage?

Every class is or SHOULD be viable for PVE…
[/quote]No.
How is Wiz3 viable in PvE?

Coursing doesn’t work on bosses.

I’m not hunter and certainly I don’t care much about my pet, but this is the first time I see it just stand there doing nothing lol, are you sure it’s not a bug ?

Huh? I have a lvl 148 that is Wiz C3 and Magic Missile wrecks, also if you take the correct follow up classes and then go with Rune Caster you have uninterruptible 8 second casts that can also be quick cast.

Many said Wiz3 is weak and then got kill-steal by Magic Missile.

You must be drunk, because wiz3/ele3/wl is probably one of the highest dps build out there.

Snatching also has some AoE and doesnt get your pet stuck like coursing.

Hunter is viable? Yes

But seriously, if you want PVE, Ranger / Sapper is A LOT better than Hunter on PVE.

As I said, Hunter is a single target control class or a flying mob slayer (my snatching deals over 5k crit per bleeding tick, 3 ticks for second, 12 seconds bleeding and it’s just lvl 5).

Disregard of what others said and let me tell you something.

What do you mean by viability? Hunters are labeled as Hard classes for a reason, they are harder to level up but by no means they are unviable.

AI is clunky atm yes, however with some dedication and patience you are able to get the hang of it.

If your intention is to rush levels up, Hunter is not for you.

The problem here is that you’re not the pack leader.
Try no touch, no talk, no eye contact till your hoglan is in a calm submissive state. Then you can give affection

They should rate Hunter a difficulty higher than Hard or rate Archer lower so that people see the difference

Enhance attribute level: 0

When have I denied that skill was good? My issue is with the AI not the actual damage of the class… If it worked and followed orders 100% of the time I’d be very happy.

Wish we could improve the Pet AI like the homunculus in RO just by editing the lua files

You have to relog if the pet AI gets stuck, it’s annoying BUT you don’t ever get that bug if you don’t spam commands. If your pet is ever using Coursing, DO not. And I mean DO NOT spam other commands, the pet will likely go crazy and get stuck. Even if they don’t get stuck, they will be having an internal struggle of Coursing the target even if it’s dead and running to Rush Dog or whatever other command you gave it to on the target.

Also, when there’s 1-2 mobs you CAN effectively target monsters, it won’t necessarily go to the one nearest to you, but once there’re like huge crowd of mobs they will target the one closest to you. This makes Hunter actually a CLOSE RANGED class, making you need a lot of CON because you’re so much more risky than other classes.

Like Wugushi, this class will be better if you have a Linker friend or Linkers in dungeons(which are quite plentiful thankfully).

Coursing should be left at level 1 for now, the longer the duration, the more of a burden your pet becomes. Do not look at this skill as a DPS skill, the defense reduced is meh too anyway, until it’s fixed you should not invest into this skill. NTM this skill doesn’t work on bosses so it’s all the more not worth it. Plus even if it did, most bosses jump around or have knockbacks making it pointless.

Snatching deals a lot of damage but requires investment into it. I did not notice my pet latching onto the flying enemy however. And no it does not prioritize flying enemies, your pet can and will derp and use it on a land enemy. The bleed can also be resisted so that should be kept in mind. Snatching is your highest DPS skill honestly, but requires an enemy to be flying. Also, it does not seem to bring enemies to the ground despite the animation, the mobs do not get hit by Caltrops on the ground below them when Snatched.

The AI is controllable al beit wonky AF, the only AI I want is to be able to set them to PASSIVE. Meaning they do not rush in to die over and over, because Stamina is actually important for a Hunter, if the companion is slow they can’t chase to Course or Retrieve. I mean this game is a 2016 game(developed for years) and they can’t even set pets to Passive? Like what.

Pointing is also super risky to use in no matter what situation, as your companion goes rabid and go OUT of your screen to bark at mobs and at the same time aggro everything to you. -_- I only use it for the Fear when things are going south in a dungeon.

The only annoying thing you can’t get through is when bosses use Silence totems and traps, you can’t even go near to target the boss specifically during that instance.

All in all, a wonky class but so fun. Key to keep in mind is to keep Coursing at a low level, you don’t need it to be 15 seconds at all. And do not spam commands while your pet is Coursing.

i think maybe IMC need to add more skill like “recall” to Hunter… just like Lone Druid in Dota 2…
anyway ini level 200++ do People need Hunter C2 in Party??

Sorry for my English

I just got in level 130 idungeon earlier…seems like using retrieve gonna bug the companion in run #1 and #2. Even rest on/off won’t fix the problem as the pet just gonna stay still.

Run #3 work fine and wreck the flying monster at the end of the dungeon.

Any tips? I’m Hunter C2 Fletcher C1 now

I have noticed that the issue started to happen after the 19th april patch.

I had to completely discard my pet skills and rely on my archer ones to level up until falconer. I’d say that you should rely on your fletcher skills to level up while leaving Retrieve to those monsters that have chunks of HP.

I’ll give more details when I manage to find out exactly why the bug is happening.

Arh that make sense now. Retrieve works well before until this last few days.

At least I’m going Fletcher but I’m gonna miss spamming retrieve until they fixed this

Wiz 3 is the base of most DD wizards build for pve, but yeah, wiz isn’t for pve
