Every time I go to start the game, the client loads up and then it stops ends and says " Cannot run without Steam running " basically. Yes, I have steam running too.
That happend to me once. but it was because somehow i was logged out of steam but i was still able to start ToS by using the steam icon in the tray.
try restarting steam or relogging in steam.
Google it. There are quite few ways to solve this.
Mine was resolved by launching steam in tcp only mode.
Create a shortcut for steam go to properties and add - tcp as a parameter
