So, after the 3rd character, quests start to be so boring

Im playing with my 4th character and replaying the same quests are so boring…

I really dont know how to explain, but I really wanted other ways to level up in the same pace as the quests, but theres none

I roll my eyes so hard every time I see a quest like “Pull 3 herbs”

Pull herb: A MONSTER APPEARED

Pull herb: You got stunned!

Pull herb: A MONSTER APPEARED

Pull herb: You got stunned!

Pull herb: A MONSTER APPEARED

Pull herb: You got stunned!

Pull herb: You got a herb!
(Now get more 2)

I played until lvl 240, and theres ALOT of quests like this (they change a little, but are the same, “Press V to find a place to find a item, Ops, its not there, try again more 5 times” or “Try to find wood, ops, the wood disintegrated (WHAT?), try again” and go on)

Not only that, theres quests like “Kill 20 X monster” but in the map theres only 5, so you kill them, change channel, kill them, change channel, kill and repeat

Doing the same quests is already a boring chore, so, why we have to have long (for the wrong reason) quests?

Its my opinion, but… meh… Now, if you excuse me, I gonna open a circle in the ground, kill 2 monsters, reach 5/100 of my goal, wait 50 seconds to the circle CD to goes off, find a monster and repeat

Sorry my engrish

this guide could help you skipping some boring quest line

Your topics are all so boring, yet I feel forced to read them and reply, because I have nothing else to waste my time on …

On Topic, you do something 4 times in a row and it feels the same as before. Seeing the starting zones of … whatever game … 4 times in a single month cant be fun, this are not NES-times anymore where we had different expectations to games.

I feel the same way… Lvl up is boring like hell. The lvl up in this game should be like ragnarok

i currently have 8 characters… and that’s not counting all the ones i’ve deleted.

i hear what you’re saying, but at the same time, what are they going to do? it’s only possible to create so much content…

Well, a good example is Maple Story, when level cap raises, they also re-scale the leveling curve so that earlier levels get easier.

i strongly recommend you don’t attach too much hope to this idea, because it will probably lead to extensive heartbreak.

But… what are you expecting by a game? and a rol game? and a mmo game? and a old-school style game? …i dont know what do you want really. dont play then.

EDIT: uhmmmm I was thinking and I get ur point about are you saying… but personally I enjoy the game with that mechanic, I think (is just my opinion) is way to control all those frenetic adicted players who wanna reach lvl 500 in one hour…I mean the game has a enjoyable story and a lot of different ways to “waste ur time” in-game like achievements or doing both stories at the same time

That’s easier to wait for more content to be added to suit all the leveling curve.

Rescaling does not mean getting to 280 right away, but for example just increase the exp of the level 240-280 mobs so people can grind past that period faster.

My idea is (though a lot of people might think is stupid) to sort of make it easier and faster to quest for an alt but only on quests that are already done by the main or other alts.

Maybe reduce the timer on a “defend an NPC” quest, reduce count on a “kill x monsters” quest, etc. - anything that makes doing quests faster.

Tenants farm?
I know where that hate is coming from I’ve already expressed my displeasure with these RNG quests. Seriously who the frick came up with this idea and thought it was going to be a good one. I mean really were they just sitting in their production room and be like “hey lets make a quest that has a 1% chance of being completed and the other 99% the player gets slapped in the face by knockback and whatever CC” “GENIUS”.

As for the topic imo leveling is boring once you already have a capped character and decide to make another (I have to go through ALL that again? sorta feel)

yea i get what you mean… “easier” does not mean “instant”… i’m just saying i do not expect anything we have currently to even get any easier, except maybe Earth Tower.

i think the problem is you do all the quests on all the maps. you could miss some but then you level too slowly. there’s no exploration or alternatives; which was suppose to be the main selling point. they probably should have made multiple paths and quicker levelling, given how many maps there are. feels like hundreds. i even remember there dev blog post saying you don’t need to do quests at all, but, you kinda do.

THIS

An auto-skip conversation/cutscenes in that case would be cool too

A non-linear story line would fix this so easily lol. At least it would make it not so boring or more emotional. For example, some quests should have chronological aspects to them. If you go to Klapedia and progress through Crystal Mines, you might not have time to save Rose. Or Rose gets captured and you find her later in the game.

Another idea is to make the game “psychological,” though this is kinda cliche by now. So many games have done it. For example, if a player levels STR a lot, the npc might be inclined to give him a weapon. another character who leveled a lot of CON might end up getting options for a shield, rather than simply giving you the choice of which one you want. Thus the game rewards a tank for building tank rather than building damage and losing out on gear.

This also encourages fixing the “party quest” system. Right now it’s garbage. Everyone does their own quests. With this method, perhaps partying would allow gaining of more exp cards. The party leader’s quests are the only ones which would show up. Upon completion, everyone gets EXP cards and rewards. Then parties could change leader to keep everyone on the same map. (Like dark souls…) Or if you’re out of EXP cards and stuck and sick of grinding, join someone else for a different tale altogether and leave their party whenever you get bored of the story.

I think we all remember FFVII and Aerith Gainsborough. How badly did everyone want her to live! >:D

This would lead to interesting titles too! “The Darkest Knight- rewarded for 500 dead npcs.”

The problem as I see it is that the leveling process is fixed. At a specific level, you always level at that map / quest. This makes for a very very linear game-play and frankly I don’t know how many times people can stand it until they call it quits. (for me it is 3 times - once in iCBT1, second time in iCBT2, and this is the 3rd time and I barely play anymore).

Also due to the level restriction of monsters, you cannot fight tougher monsters to give better exp. The monster design is also poor with little (real) variety that offers better xp, better silver, better items etc. There’s no real choice / option in what you want to optimize. Everyone goes through the same path and monster over and over again.

Lastly the quest story is just plain ■■■■. It’s not interesting, has no character, no background and builds no emotions. Just generic ■■■■. I don’t who can write such poor stories because even 5 year olds have better imagination than this.

Well, after every character you make, grinding gets quicker. Up to 49% bonus xp i hear.

As for doing the same quests over and over, why not try doing kill achievements, main quest and dungeons only? might not be as fast as questing, but its not too bad. you get some good items too.

but is it an actual 49% bonus or is it like this kind of exp bonus
