Sniper build - mostly PvP - useful or bad?

Hey there,

i am planning to make an archer, mostly for PvP.
Was thinking about high burst damage and alot of utility. I tried alot of different setups and now i came to this build:

I know it looks strange to mostly have circle 1 classes.
But the idea behind it is, that i get very good utility and buffs that i think scale very well at endgame to enhance the damage with musket.
Archer c3 or scout c2 and drop falconer or hunter was also in my consideration.

What do you guys think about it? Is it trash or may it be good?
Never played a hunter, its all theory and i think leveling will be a pain but maybe its worth the work when reaching rank 7 ?

thx for your answers

If you really want a sniper build, I suggest you go Archer > Ranger > Ranger > Ranger > Archer > Scout > Musketeer.

This is far the best for sniper build. why?
Archer C2 buff > Swift Step Critical rate up
Ranger C3 buff > Steady Aim lvl 15 (20% addtl. damage to missile atks)
Scout C1 buff > Cloaking (Hide + 50% more damage to the next atk)

This will mostly 1 shot anyone in PvP.

Thx for the reply.
But is Ranger only for the 10 seconds buff really worth it? It has 25 sec cooldown and +20% isnt that much for the duration i think.
With rogue i’d get awesome crit chance from behind, i think also useful in PvE and to steal the enemies magic seems also very nice to me.

I hav some question to get a advice from you can you give me your Steam Id ? send at basyoungy@gmail.com Thank you

I do agree with Archer>ranger 3>arhcer2>scout>musketeer.

I dont know how it’ll work in pvp and pve.

You don’t need rank five cloaking. All your doing is increasing it’s SP cost and it’s not like you’ll actually be invisible for whatever reason for a whole thirty five seconds when you use it. Since all you have to do is use a basic attack, skill or jump. Unless you actually want to be invisible for a whole thirty five seconds without attacking or jumping at all for whatever reason. Rank one is all you’ll need, and it’ll have lower SP cost.

From your skill simulator build, you’ll most likely be out damaged and scaled.

Here’s a Musketeer build that’s actually practical and scales well. Having a build based around supporting Snipe isn’t exactly good. You’ll need to actually hit it in PvP, and the enemy target will most likely know that Musketeers have a Snipe ability. They can mix in jumps/strafing into their movement patterns easily as a human player.

Snipe also has a twenty five second cool down anyway, so maxing it will only hinder you when you can invest into multiple other skills that can be used one after the other quickly if you had more points left over.

Don’t know why link is bugged. But yes, Archer 1 > Ranger 3 > Fletcher 2 > Musketeer scales well and is practical in terms of PvP. It’ll make use of overheat abilities and also brings a lot of DPS/burst. Stalling or purposely extending a battle’s length without dishing out good damage anyway will only lead to your inevitable death.

20% bonus from steady aim is a lot. If a skill does around 2500 damage that is a bonus of 500. If the damage is around 4000, the bonus is average 800. It applies to any missile type attacks during the duration.

FYI enemy player only has to face towards you to negate your sneak hit.

People seem to not understand pvp. Do NOT take ranger for 20% buff. Its not enough. Ranger has no CC whatsoever and the buff isnt that great. And do not take hunter as well, pet hits break stealth >.<. The best PVP build for sniping would be A1 > QS1 > QS2/Sapper1 > Scout 1 > R2 > Musk. Why? Pvp is simple, you want CC and survivability. Any pvp in any game is like that, A1 gives you Full Draw for ridiculous skewer and the slow from oblique. QS 1 gives you a borderline OP 6 secs stun-lock with 0 cd AND a blocking wall. QS 2 gives you 2 extra seconds on the stun and the ability to teardown some annoying Dievbrys trees OR Sapper giver you an amazing knockback to protect your backline mages and healers, area deny with stockades and Detonate Traps to destroy the Protect zone WITHOUT making you visible and punji stakes knockback with conceal. Scout for stealth, and yes lvl 5 stealth because you NEED permastealth in pvp as well as the barrel for “countering” AA builds. Rogue is the cherry on the top with feint Backroll that turns people around creating confusion in pvp, sneaky hit for insane damage and lachrymator because moar CC. And in musket go for at least 1 point in Penetrating and Butt stroke for dem CCS and use stealth to position yourself for the snipes behind target. or if hes a prancing fawn just headshot them, stun with stone shot and them snipe. And trust me, even though the damage bonus seems tempting you NEED CC for pvp, otherwise you will do nothing.
