though tbh SZshield makes every OP players kill themselves without me doing anything (i just happen to have a high CON investment) so the godlier their weapon is, the more it is going to hurt them
You need like 60 of a stat from each piece to get to 350 lol. More like 240-250, but getting stats is easy.
Stats are easy, trans is time wasting.
It’s easy to compete, but you are locked behind 1/2 months gate for each character you want to compete with, and what if you find you don’t like to play that class in pvp? Limiting the power of trans/up without removing it would be fine enough for people to compete even without t8-10 equip.
which i do. you also have to consider the stat bonuses from weapons and accessories
but as i’m saying. taking those stats off makes dueling more like dueling instead of making it impossible for someone to even cast mass heal on themselves
Everyone has those in any case, i’m considering 2 weapon slots and 4 armor slots (the things you can’t trade once transed).
Dueling has no pvp reduction damage if i remember well, so you take full damage.
you forgot shield and some weapons give out (almost) a hundred stat
full damage or no, the point is that gears makes a huge difference on pvp
Shield doesn’t give one hundred of stat. Gear secondary stats do almost nothing outside of CON in pvp tbh.
Also you are not considering normally available gear, an insanely rolled 1 handed weapon may have 70-80 STR, but a common one will easily have 40-50 even 60. The total difference will be under 1000 attack between you and a godly geared player, whilst a weapon can very well reach 7000 atk and force you to high trans all your armor pieces just to counter that.
It’s not a case that most top players are running builds with invuln and con gear.

Whole point of compressing numbers is reducing the difference between mid trans (affordable) and high trans (insanely costly and time wasting)

though i’m still not getting where you’re going , since all i’m saying is that a fixed gear for everyone in pvp would lessen the gap in performance
like, everything has ups and downs as far as customization is concerned. like when you tweak something it’s going to be derived from a fixed value and not something that would out perform something else. take for the example of tf2 weapons
though in the case for tos, the highly customizable skills is doing the job. hence, we could just leave the gears uncustomizable for now.
you know, like everyone is wearing some standard padded armor and wooden weapons
I’m going torward not jeopardizing the effort of people that want to get stronger in pvp and farm to do so.
With the current log system you are forced to trans your armor to counter the enemy trans, by creating a diminishing return you compress the top end of the upgrade system, making it trivial to go over mid trans/upgrade unless you really want to be the best.
To fully trans 4 armor pieces you need 5000 shards.
To trans 5 four armor pieces you need 920 shards.
TLDR: If you compress the values, competing has less of an entry barrier, so you can actually play more than one char in pvp.
and i’m saying is that why not have 2 modes for pvp to prevent jeopardizing those people?
someone suggested it earlier but, the allocation on which mechanic to which mode is somewhat reversed
though my personal opinion is that the game is not a pvp game, working hard for pvp purposes is kind of awkward.
kind of like that one friend who has to make ice cream eating a competition
I have been suggesting that either ever since. to have 2 options in tbl. 1 is for geared and 1 is for none gear but whales be like “nuuu let only whales enjoy tbl.”
Not going to nitpick but doesn’t that actually trigger the other problem where Clerics gets too overpowered with too high defense and healing abilities?
One of the advantages of the standarized gear is that it reduces the “immortal cleric that kills with Blind Faith or property damage stacking” effect.
That’s one issue on itself though, need to be solved in other ways. I just feel that standarized gears would end up with something cleaner and more fair in overall PvP gameplay, even with current issues.
This is around the same as when ktos? reduced PvP damage to some % and then increased again. Just dealing less damage to everyone isn’t really the key >_< - there’s still the 1-shot skills and the immortal people that gets even more immortal.
As i see 350 active player still try to fight for game.
Others just botting or afk farm.
