Slow exp? Really?

The fun part of this game should be it’s job system not the grinding.
You plan your classes and skills all the way up to R10 (atm R6) they are so many combination.

The leveling route should let you feel the growing of your character so at lower level you leveling fast, but it comes slower (160+)and even more slower after that (too slow if you ask me).

So imho it’s fine like this. In the end you will have multiple characters to level up , not just one.

And I know there are “hard core” MMORPG gamer thinking about “hard work” on leveling will make this game more fun, and extend the game life. The reality is it won’t work right now ,this is almost 2016 most ppl already used to more fast-paced gaming even for MMORPG.

So if this game still use the old school korean heavy grinding leveling cap , it wont hit the market and die very fast.
Imho the sweet spot should be between old school MMORPG and GW2 (gw2 give you too much reward, you get what you want way too fast for MMO)

So make the game only for people who are useless to society or kids?
You can have a life and still be more than a casual player you know?
And how the game is now grinding isn’t even fun.
Map diversity is too low.
Tons of crampy maps made only for quests.

seriouisly lol, it’s not a problem atm. base level exp table shows there are levels that go real fast, and levels that go as fast as a turtle.

yes I agree a ton of maps are crap and copy pasta’d to accommodate for the tons of quests that you need to get to atleast 100+

but after 100, it’ll slow down again. 1-46 is your first wall, 47-86 is your second. basically ToS gives you the first 100 levels for free. but from 87-136, it’ll be slow as hell. the grind fest you’re looking for starts there.

the issue here is that party quests aren’t really a “must” because most of the good gear your looking for either drops from regular mobs, lvl2-3 chests, quest bosses (which aren’t repeatable)

but try getting to around 120-130 then you’ll feel your preferred “grindy” mmo, because at 120-130, you can finish out a zone and only get around 15-20 exp cards. a lvl6 card at 118 would only give about 5-7% base level exp, and about 3-5% class exp.

atleast get to half the game content before you post about the game’s grindiness, because it really is a grind fest.

yes you get to 100 in less than a week, but try getting to 200. then post your comment about it.
as for me? 137 corsair. i’m not even complaining about it being ez exp, or hard exp, i’m just glad it’s something new.

same quest style, same grindy feel, but 600 freaking levels, that’s something you have to look forward too.
100 isn’t a milestone. it’s basically getting out of the training ranch

there are higher leveld exp cards. i’m using lvl6 right now.

The average player doesn’t have too much time to sink into a game, you have to look at it realistically, sure it can be competitive but does it take skill? is it a game now, who can sit longer in the monster mash? I understand the power of top players being a high rank. If it takes the hardcore players a week, it’s going to take the average player a month. So this game will be fully explored anyways and only by the hardcore players no matter how fast or slow the exp is.

grinding is fun? hahahah
wait, yall were serious? lemme laugh harder HAHAHHA
people have this thing called life and work, game is for entertainment, but if mindlessly grinding entertain you then whatever float your boat i guess

I think a MMO must have grinding and not only quests, but it should be fun, not so easy in high levels (something to incentivate parties) and enjoyable, if the grinding is repetitious and too much easy, it’s better to program a BOT to do it.

People people calm your t1ts.

Nobody cares how fast you were in a old dusty game in an era were there were few options available.

If you E-peen on how hardcore you were or how fast you were, that is just sad - truly sad.

There are too many factors involved too claim that this is “too hard” or this is too easy.

You cannot judge the current state of the game, because it is stil in beta, and the level cap will be increased.

You do not know or feel how long/short time it’ll take to get to max level yet, as it is far from finished.

And lastly please do not put hard and grinding in the same sentence, that’s just embarrassing.

This statement is so wrong, lol.

I think someone is forgetting when WoW allowed players to effectively buy their way to level 90 with a new expansion, and then grind Heroics to the level cap.

Level cap in days at best ^o.o^

Not only that, but leveling early on in WoW is actually really, really easy. You just quest and do random dungeons when you reach the minimum level.

You must be referring to Vanilla WoW, but even then level 17 was a joke with Ragefire Chasm and Wailing Caverns instances available at lower levels (Horde side). I don’t know what the Alliance had, but I’m sure questing didn’t take so long just to reach level 18 for the Deadmines.

Wait a second, are you people playing RPG for the end game? Go play MOBAs, maybe shooters instead. RPGs are about the journey, about lvling up, grinding, questing, gearing, finding hidden stuff, crafting new items, making friends, helping others to lvl up. If you play just for the end game, go play something else.

About the exp rate
The exp rate is 3x now, so it is going to be a little harder on release. Also, the cap is 600, but I guess they will make it to the 900s or so. Just make the math, people complaining about getting to 100 too fast, they forget 100 in ToS is kind of 20 in regular MMOs. Also, for the people complaining it is too hard to lvl up after lvl 160 or so, by the time you reach this lvl you can find parties pretty easy I guess, which makes the grinding/questing way easier and more fun

The issue you over look is… Most MMO’s are practically only about the end game (this isn’t a single player RPG) because content before it isn’t really important. Why waste time upgrading gear, that will be outclassed before long? Why craft items if those items aren’t really any good? Why farm for gear when you’ll get much better gear soon? etc…

The time to really fill out your gear is the end game when money is easiest, and gear is actually “the best” and farming items is actually worth the time…

You might as well put all excess money in to attributes, and only buy/farm new gear you really need… Until your nearing endgame…

I honestly think they will be making a mistake if they just release the game with the cap of 600 and all content available… As they will basically just make a lot of people lose interest because its to much. They would be smarter to release the game in chunks and tweak it as they go… So that initial cap of 200 would be fine… with 3x slower exp rates. (I think its not so bad)… This means everyone will reach level 200 eventually, cause its not that much grinding (its a bit but not excessive)… And the level 170 gear is relevant for awhile… So its worth farming and maxing out some gear you like and filling out the adventure book and all that stuff.

Then when they raise the cap in a future update, they tweak the speed of leveling so its easier to get to level 200, but level cap still takes awhile… So its easier to train alts, and easier for new people to play relevant content which helps keep the game alive. They just need to let the game linger at each cap long enough but not so long to many people are getting overly bored because they have done all they can/want to do currently…

If they had gone with a more open world design (more starting options, more ways the game can go, so we aren’t all playing the same exact game) then I would agree its not just about level caps… But we will all be on the same path playing the same game… So making content relevant at different stages, I think would help the game last longer an keep people more interested…

I’d be happy to have a premium server so the working people can catch up. And to also steer away the bots.

Just to let you guys know the current EXP rate is quite higher than release, especially as you get higher in levels.

In the closed beta the exp rate is increased depending on your level: 16-45 5x, 46-85 7x, 86-135 12x, 136-185 30x, >186 48x

The grind is gonna be terrible without the current EXP boost.

where are you pulling this from?

the people claiming it’s triple rates never cite a source either, and yours is even worse if it were the case.

Would be better if there were other ways of progressing in the game, because grinding gets boring after some time, even more since even normal items dropping from monsters are rare on higher levels.

If you like to grind the hell out of a field just to get your daily 0,001% exp per kill, who cares?
This game introduced something that another game that it remembers a lot did not had, Quests and Story.
Not everyone in this game wants to grind the hell out to progress, since there should be quests to aid the player
on the exploration.

What I say is, that there could have repeatable quests, or even some more side quests in the game to allow those players to level up.

So if you just go by ratios, I think there is nothing to worry about.
1-100 takes let’s just say 3 days to a week, depending on your level of commitment. That doesn’t mean 100-200 is going to be the same. Maybe that takes roughly twice as long, could even be 3 times as long.

That 500-600 though…Think about it folks. Games with super high levels rarely scale slowly after you get up into that range. Plus, with all those levels, that leaves room for a whole lot of content after 200. Not to mention I think most people will want to make an alt/have another class character. If you max out one character, you’ve still not experienced a whole lot of the game in terms of playstyle choices that it offers, y’know? Tired of being a Highlander? Try out being a Quarrel Shooter. Or something like that. I just picked random classes but the point stands.

So yeah, don’t feel bad about 1-100 being a little fast. If you check the ratio you really haven’t accomplished all that much in relation to how high you can go.

welp… i supose you dont have a house to keep, a job to work and a kid to ta care of… but anyway… caials really should not get max levwl in a month.

Directly from the game files:

– CBT3 한정 배율 증가 : CBT가 종료되면 반드시 제거해야함
(This translates into saying to remove the exp boost after CBT ends.)
if pcLv > 15 then
value = value * 5;
elseif pcLv > 45 then
value = value * 7;
elseif pcLv > 85 then
value = value * 12;
elseif pcLv > 135 then
value = value * 30;
elseif pcLv > 185 then
value = value * 48;
end

Sorry I’m not believing anything I read anymore. First i hear 3x, then 5x, then 7x, now this. I’ll just go by what i see in game.

Are you sure you’re reading what you think it is? cuz those are the same levels that the xp needed per level drops in the xp graph.

Maybe thats what the bonus xp is. the drops in the graph. Maybe when its released it will be a smooth curve for the levels instead of drops.
